"I understand," Ahn Ke removed her gloves, firmly halting the research she had been conducting.
Research could be sustained purely by bodily endurance to fatigue, but if it relied on certain foundations, it wasn’t worth it, at least not the current research she was doing—it wasn’t worth depleting those hard-won essences to persist.
Her study on the enhancent and changes to her own body was nearly complete. "I’m going to rest, do you want to co with ?"
"You’re so eager to give yourself away huh?"
Ahn Ke nodded seriously and rationally, "I owe you too much, and among all the investors I know, you are the most attractive. Whether in terms of material conditions or physical ones, you are the best. I have no reason to hesitate."
In matters of emotion, adding a touch of sentintality might not be bad, yet her years of experintal experience made it hard for her to be overly emotional. She had modified a large wild beast biologically when she was only ten.
What her state of mind had been back then, Ahn Ke could not quite rember, but she was certain she had been sowhat emotional... impatiently excited.
In the Ahn family, after revealing her corresponding talents, she was no longer brought up like the little princess ant for a political marriage.
She extended her palm towards Zheng Yichen.
"What for?" Zheng Yichen was slightly puzzled as he reached out his hand, which Ahn Ke grabbed and squeezed forcefully. Her calm face reddened slightly from the effort, and then both of his hands were held.
However, in her perception, the hand Zheng Yichen extended was still as immovable as Da Shan’s. She was a Researcher, and after extensive study of the human body, she knew quite well how human bodies could exert force.
The strength she was now using was close to the limit that this body could exert.
Zheng Yichen, seeing her struggling, chuckled, raised his hand, and Ahn Ke was lifted off the ground. This was a rather awkward aspect for human-shaped beings––in a small body, no matter how strong, the weight does not appear exaggerated.
Like Zheng Yichen right now, who could break a house with one punch, but his weight did not exceed two hundred kilograms—about a hundred and ninety kilograms perhaps.
This extra weight was attributed to the Essence of Life, which is significantly heavier than bone marrow.
Without the Essence of Life, his weight would only be around a hundred sixty to seventy kilograms, and at this point, it’s challenging to increase further. To increase weight rapidly... he’d have to rely on fat, but his physique no longer produced excess fat.
Or rather, the fat produced was more tightly compressed, existing in a form unlikely to affect body shape.
"The disparity is still so big, huh?"
"If it weren’t, I would have been killed by the Boundary Breaking Faction long ago," Zheng Yichen said with a laugh as he set Ahn Ke down and pinched her cheek, "You’re much more solid now than before."
"Oh? How different exactly?" Ahn Ke raised her eyebrows slightly, completely accepting of Zheng Yichen’s behavior.
"The difference between a disposable plastic cup and a stainless steel thermos."
Everyone understands the quality of a disposable plastic cup––a light squeeze can deform it, whereas a stainless steel thermos isn’t sothing that can be easily squeezed by anyone.
But the issue is the one holding the cup was no ordinary person, yet such a change is a leap in nature.
"That difference is indeed significant." With that comparison from Zheng Yichen, Ahn Ke seriously converted it in her mind, which seed quite reliable.
After all, her forr self could never have blocked bullets, but now her body could ignore attacks from many firearms.
Although this was demonstrated in a world with high Environntal Adjustnt when they returned to Hazy City her performance was not as strong, but in the world of Hazy City, Zheng Yichen would also undergo Environntal Adjustnt, so the difference overall was not significant compared to the current environnt.
She could find Zheng Yichen.
Only...
When leaving the laboratory, Ahn Ke glanced in the direction of the bedroom. The living quarters were not too large, Zheng Yichen shared a room with Katrina without separate bedrooms. Should she just go find him directly?
It wasn’t out of the question, she just wasn’t sure if Katrina would accept it.
She thought about it and decided to talk to Katrina first. As for waiting for Zheng Yichen to co to her?
That wasn’t out of the question either, but her rationality made her consider more...
Emotions? Such feelings can be cultivated, and with Zheng Yichen’s solid qualities, that’s the best foundation for a relationship.
So much so that when Zheng Yichen returned from the Dragon Tribe Chamber of Comrce the next day, he found Katrina’s gaze towards him sowhat strange.
Lillian had not co today; the Luminous Holy Maiden had asserted that even a Holy Maiden needed personal ti––she needed holidays.
"What happened?" Zheng Yichen sat next to Katrina, a magic book that she had not finished reading still rested on the lap of the white-haired girl. Since coming to this world, she had been striving to learn Magic to improve herself.
"Today, Ahn Ke spoke to about sothing," Katrina spoke softly, her face slightly flushed, "She, she wants to be sisters with ."
"That’s it?"
"Yes," Katrina nodded softly, "You should go see her tonight."
She did not exhibit any particularly excited reaction to this matter, her world view shaped by the era she once lived in gave her an extra capacity to accept such matters.
In her eyes, a being like Zheng Yichen, almost god-like, who had not sought additional partners, was sowhat abnormal.
Now that Ahn Ke had co directly to her regarding this matter, apart from so initial surprise, she quickly accepted it.
"She told you need more capable people, re associations by material conditions are far from sufficient," Katrina said after so thought, "A large disparity in strength would only cause unease among those who cooperate with you."
Regarding this, Katrina thought about it for a while, seemingly never having felt uneasy about it.
