His Oath Power lacked the continuity for cycle use, so it was difficult to perpetuate, but avoiding disruption was no problem; repelling an Arriver granted him vast amounts of Oath Power, and the speed of this power accumulation was even comparable to the fullness of demonic thoughts.
He did not know whether it was this world that amplified the Oath Power, or if the thing itself was just that formidable.
He set his sights on the remaining Arrivers.
"It’s all too late!" an Arriver said, staring at Zheng Yichen, then decisively canceled the Descent of God Technique, leaving the Boundary Breaker, as an Arriver body, utterly confused. Just as he was about to say sothing, a bloody blade light cleaved down, and he was killed on the spot.
The departing Arrivers were very wise; staying would only result in being killed by Zheng Yichen. It was impressive enough that they could exert a third of their true strength while maintaining the Descent of God state. Being killed by Zheng Yichen would an losing so power, better to retreat ahead of ti, especially since their god’s will had already been transmitted.
Next, there will be a special invasion by the Great World.
"Quick, retreat!" The remaining Boundary Breakers within the town grew restless; they wanted to escape, but Zheng Yichen would not let them, and neither would the Dusk rcenaries.
So blocked Boundary Breakers yelled in a fit of pique, "The Doomsday Weapon has already been activated, everyone staying here will die!!"
"Doomsday Weapon? What’s that?" Zheng Yichen asked as he pinned a Boundary Breaker’s limbs to a wall with a ray of light and pursued further.
"Damn... you’ll see soon enough," the determined Boundary Breaker refused to inform Zheng Yichen what the Doomsday Weapon was.
Zheng Yichen, however, had no desire to waste ti with him; he tapped the Boundary Breaker’s head with his fishing rod and focused on the next one. He did not go after the weaker Boundary Breakers; the strongest were locked in his sights with Life Perception. Not one of them could escape.
This included the two capable of fighting against the strongest Dusk rcenaries; these two were not Arrivers, but their strength was no less fearso. One of them ran fast, while the other was intercepted by Zheng Yichen.
The latter wore an annoyed expression, but he knew it was impossible to escape now. So he decided to change tactics, "I can tell you so information about the Doomsday Weapon, but how about you let go this ti? I can’t defeat you, but delaying you is certainly possible."
"I don’t want to know anymore," Zheng Yichen did not give the Boundary Breaker any chance to speak further and imdiately took action; a low-intensity Demonic Abyss Seven Kills took his life. Once those Arrivers had withdrawn, the purification in the environnt disappeared.
The fresh chaos refilled the environnt with demonic thoughts, and coupled with Zheng Yichen’s own demonic thoughts, executing a low-intensity Demonic Abyss Seven Kills was not difficult.
As for resistance? He wasn’t going all out against those Arrivers. Whether it was Burst Mode or Blood Sacrifice Burst, he was rely exerting normal effort, and he hadn’t even used enhancents like Life enhancent.
The Arrivers weren’t the true beings themselves; if they were, a full-force battle would be much harder.
After taking care of that Boundary Breaker, Zheng Yichen reached into the transport circle opened by the Apocalypse Stone Ring and pulled out the Army Decimating sniper rifle. Those who had run far were picked off one by one; Life Perception made his aiming as precise as if he had a lock-on.
Thermal vision rendered those hiding Boundary Breakers completely detectable.
As the number of defeated Boundary Breakers grew, new Oath Power fiercely generated vast amounts of Oath Power, stronger than before.
Moreover, within the town’s bounds, Zheng Yichen could feel the Oath Power surging. Even if he did not act against the Boundary Breakers, it was still increasing at such a rate that it was no re travel expense.
It felt like blood money!
After stowing his weapon, Zheng Yichen no longer paid attention to the escaping Boundary Breakers but instead focused on the ground of the town. The strongest among the Dusk rcenaries had previously attempted to destroy sothing beneath, with a clear purpose: by destroying the core of the boundary, they would have saved this world.
They would earn a substantial number of rit points, different from the Proxy Agents, whose rit points ca from solving Boundary Breaker issues. Saving the world? That was a job to repay debts, unless the Boundary Breaking core was an Alien Phenonon creature or so other moving entity.
"What is it?"
Zheng Yichen stared at the ground below, descended from the air, and placed his hand on the earth, revealing a look of surprise. He felt the agitation of Counter-Oath Power from below; tentacles accompanied by Chaos Mist continuously erged from underground. And this was related to Oath Power?
What kind of monster had the Great World created this ti?
Taking a deep breath, Zheng Yichen hesitated not a mont longer and used Earth Devouring, the Overgrown Wilderness spreading rapidly around him from the center. The once vibrant earth turned into a desolate wasteland in an extrely short span of ti.
The Dusk rcenaries, who hadn’t left, looked on in astonishnt. Among them were mages; one of the Dusk rcenaries inhaled deeply and said, "This land is dying... No, it’s already dead!"
"What use is that?"
"The more closely linked an entity is to this land, the greater the influence. Normal creatures on this land will also suffer a continuous Draining of Life. Don’t worry, it’s not too serious; this Draining is subtle. We could live here for decades without any problems..."
```
The Dusk rcenary paused, his expression growing more somber as he said, "But the ordinary people living here will have to bear the consequences of possible extinction! The speed of death spreading across this land is too fast!"
As they communicated, death had spread across the land for several miles, and the speed of its spread was still accelerating.
"This should be enough..." Feeling the extra Life Force he had gained after using Earth Devouring, Zheng Yichen noted that the consumption he had experienced before not only recovered but had also allowed him to accumulate a massive amount of Life Force. However, the cost was turning dozens of miles of land around him into an Overgrown Wilderness of death.
And this state of dead land would last for hundreds of years or even longer.
The surfeit of extra Life Force greatly enhanced Zheng Yichen’s Life enhancent ability. Planting his hands on the ground, he touched the surface with Counter-Oath Power.
Then, under the puzzled gazes of so Dusk rcenaries, he was flung through the air.
"Brother Chang Qing—" A crimson thunder shadow rapidly approached Zheng Yichen, trying to catch him, but the mont Qi Xiangyun touched him, her face instantly turned pale, and her skin started to dissolve.
Zheng Yichen caught the girl’s arm, and her dissolving skin healed at a faster rate. Soon after, a protective film of light wrapped around her and flung her away: "Don’t touch ."
Barely steadying himself, Zheng Yichen’s face twisted as he glared at the shattered town. When he had been flung, the entire town had been reduced to ruins by the impact, and although the Counter-Oath Power was useful, it did not exhibit its full potential.
Water and fire are incompatible; water can extinguish a fire, but when the water encounters a more intense fire, it will only be evaporated.
His use of Earth Devouring had turned tens of miles of land into an Overgrown Wilderness, the entire region heavy with an air of death, stark as a blank sheet, fully exposing sothing lurking beneath the ground, with the ergent Oath Power becoming more distinct.
After Zheng Yichen’s Counter-Oath Power ca into contact, it not only failed to destroy it, but instead, he was the one repelled.
How did it feel at that mont?
Let’s put it this way: An old man attempting to move a mountain found the mountain suddenly co alive and strike him with a punch...
"Lilith, how is the situation elsewhere?"
"It’s really bad; more cities have been destroyed. Furthermore, many places are experiencing natural disasters. The Dusk Territory has been sealed off, and the local authorities have mobilized a large force and declared war on the Dusk rcenaries..."
"Dusk rcenaries??"
"Yes, I’ve hacked into their database and discovered a secret agreent between the local officials and the Boundary Breakers. The agreent stated that the Boundary Breakers would resolve the issues in a gentler manner and that when the ti ca, the world would simply shift to a broader horizon. The process would involve sacrifices, but those who signed the agreent and people on a specific list would be guaranteed survival.
Now, that agreent has been breached."
"Damn, make this agreent public!" Zheng Yichen cursed aloud.
"Boss, this might cause greater chaos."
"It’s chaotic enough already. It won’t be long before the local military cos to bomb us, right? Just do it."
Zheng Yichen looked at the information on the projection screen in front of him and said irritably, if the agreent was to ensure the safety of all humans or the majority of the local population, that wouldn’t be so bad, even if they were being deceived. But what’s the deal with this specific list?
Put simply, it was an agreent drafted by a bunch of people for the sole purpose of surviving the ordeal; these people might as well be spies in all but na.
"Don’t rush to release the list, just let people know there is such a list."
"Understood." Lilith imdiately set to work, and it wasn’t long before a wave of public opinion surged across the internet. People unaware of the Dusk rcenaries’ existence learned about the secret deals between the local officials and the Boundary Breakers.
As a result, the surviving people beca incensed. Why should they be the ones potentially sacrificed, with only a select few assured of survival? And to top it off, to make an agreent with the invaders, as if they were offerings to prove loyalty by so locals?
Moreover, were these people planning to hand their world over on a silver platter?
Regarding the Dusk rcenaries, at the very least, those were the people who directly fought the invaders. However, the invaders prepared devastating weapons, using the people of the local world as hostages to their advantage, which only speaks to the Dusk rcenaries’ lack of ability.
The local officials had to compromise in order to protect the people, but that’s not what the agreent implies...
The agreent indicates that despite knowing there would be significant sacrifices, it chooses to make a concession just to better ensure the survival of another portion of people. If that’s the case, then it’s better for the Dusk rcenaries to make a Russian-style rescue!
