In those backward eras, the identity of a witch was feared and shunned by everyone; in modern tis, it all depends on the face first. If she’s a pretty girl, then being a witch is a plus; if she’s an ugly, scary witch, that’s a minus.

Looks are just too important.

Afterward, the house they rented beca truly their own. Zheng Yichen, as usual, trained at Raymond’s place when he had nothing else to do, took on so commissions to earn bounties, and spent quite a bit of money collecting information about extraordinary phenona, but there had been no substantial progress.

Instead, he almost got targeted by the Church people. It was only after a conversation with Raymond that he learned that extraordinary phenona are considered ’lands of demons’ by the Church.

This damn Church has its hands in everything, doesn’t it?

Despite his annoyance, Zheng Yichen didn’t stop looking for extraordinary phenona. It has to be said that as long as Hunters-Demon have enough commissions, they can earn money really quickly. Others might envy them, but it’s earned at the risk of their lives.

During this period, Zheng Yichen encountered many Black Darkness creatures that belonged to this world, like vampires, ghouls, walking corpses, and werewolves.

Zheng Yichen felt that werewolves must be among the strongest in terms of power and speed in this world, even stronger than the Headless Knight. What they lack compared to the Headless Knight is the latter’s extraordinary regenerative ability.

In this ti, Zheng Yichen’s combat skills had also improved significantly; at least he no longer fought by relying solely on a predictable move like the dead fish thrust.

What he found curious was that in these months, he hadn’t had a chance to use the Sword of Hell, even though that sword was super cool. There just hadn’t been an opportunity to use it!

"You’re searching for extraordinary phenona on one hand, and settling down here on the other, living quite the life," Raymond said, taking a big gulp of his drink in the tavern while chatting with Zheng Yichen about daily life. After several months of acquaintance, they knew that Zheng Yichen had a very pretty girlfriend by his side.

"If I co across a better world, why not live a good life there? When the opportunity cos, I’ll just bring her along," Zheng Yichen said, indicating that ultimately, settling down here wasn’t his plan.

In these months, he and Raymond had dealt with many extraordinary creatures, but those creatures were gradually no longer ’sufficient’ for him.

The power he absorbed from the Tree of Death and the Headless Knight had been completely digested two months ago. The creatures like vampires that used to provide him with so improvent had now beco re snacks, their value similar to the giant rats and extraordinary chickens he encountered back in Hazy City.

If he were to return to Hazy City now, most of those extraordinary creatures could probably only serve as his water, but as one can’t survive long on water alone, this was clearly not sustainable.

The recent extraordinary creature that had given him a noticeable boost was a werewolf he had been tasked with subduing. Unfortunately, he had teammates at the ti and couldn’t go full out to drain blood. And werewolf hunts in this world aren’t like accepting hunt missions in a ga, where each mission corresponds to an instance.

After resolving it and taking the quest again, new targets don’t simply respawn.

Werewolves are quite rare in this world, mainly because werewolves can hide their identity more easily than vampires. They can transform and, when not transford, just look like burly n with thick hair. It’s only on the night of a full moon that they uncontrollably revert to their werewolf form.

This is considered a weakness of werewolves when it cos to exposing their identity; they are not as adept at concealnt as witches. As for the issue of excessive body hair, a razor solves all troubles.

This made Zheng Yichen inevitably anxious, and he even took the initiative to study the occult knowledge of this world. He wasn’t aiming to learn magic, but to gain a deeper understanding of the habits and activity ranges of those extraordinary creatures.

Werewolves are hard to find, but not impossible. However, what if you can’t find any in a few years’ ti? Will werewolves only be found in water then?

In that case, he would have to look for more extraordinary creatures, such as the Headless Knight, the Tree of Death; and if possible, the demons from Hell that exists in this world, as well as the giants and giant dragons that have long disappeared and are considered mythical creatures, and so on.

He will count each one of them; as long as he cannot leave this world, those creatures will remain one of his targets to study and search for.

"Other worlds do not necessarily an safety, it’s easy for mishaps to occur when dragging family along," Raymond reminded Zheng Yichen. Seeing that Zheng Yichen did not want to continue on this topic, he changed the subject, "The phenonons are too transient. While you’re looking for them, other phenonons might have occurred elsewhere, but by the ti the news reaches here, it would already be half a month old."

When it ca to this matter, Zheng Yichen looked sowhat regretful. He knew about this issue, but what could he do?

In a modern society, as long as the authorities do not block the news, anyone can imdiately post online if they witness any extraordinary phenonon, allowing everyone to know instantly where it occurred. If it’s close enough, one could drive there before the phenonon disappears.

But such information flow does not exist in this broken world.

"Let’s not talk about this, let’s drink. If we’re lucky, a phenonon might appear nearby, and then we can just leave," Raymond said as he took a gulp from his glass, implying he had no attachnts in this world and would take the opportunity to vanish if it arose.

Of course, if the world associated with the phenonon turned out to be too terrible, he’d still co right back. He wanted to leave in order to access better worlds, not ones in worse condition overall.

"Got any good contracts recently?" Zheng Yichen inquired while sipping the drink in his glass. Raymond was always the one in charge of managing the contracts for their group, and John and the others had grown accustod to this arrangent. After all, they all went together to collect the bounties anyway.

There was no issue of anyone making extra profit off the deals.

"They are getting hard to find," sighed Raymond helplessly, "In recent months, we’ve dealt with many Black Darkness creatures, and the only security problems left near us are bandits. Even many of our colleagues have started to emulate us or have left this place."

..." This statent left Zheng Yichen speechless. So, this was the big difference between reality and the gas; they had been completing contracts efficiently for months. Beyond the contracts from the church, there were others. Now Raymond was suggesting that the churches in the city couldn’t provide good contracts anymore.

They had been so efficient with their task completion that they had driven the other professionals in the city away.

The issue wasn’t about being competitive; it was that the respawn rate of the extraordinary creatures wasn’t fast enough. They would have liked to continue, but there were no opportunities left.

"Also, John and the others are planning to retire. We have earned too much in the past few months," Raymond said, giving Zheng Yichen an extra glance. The speed of Zheng Yichen’s progress over the past few months had been astonishing. John, who once had the upper hand in skills, was now no match for Zheng Yichen at all.
