The trap had to appear rational and justified for the opponent to fall for it, and in the eyes of others, Zheng Yichen’s current actions were motivated by ample reason.
If he was too close to the City of Dawn Light, the summoning ritual process could be discovered. However, a few small "accidents" during the process led to Zheng Yichen’s activities being "exposed" prematurely.
As a result, he beca surrounded. More importantly, he wasn’t a "demigod" known to the demigods who arrived; only a few of them recognized him.
This gave them a reason to attack, for while a demigod might not always be greedy, when the ti ca to show greed, they didn’t need to hide it. As demigods, they were part of the world’s upper echelon of power. Without the true gods entering the fray, demigods were essentially the strongest combatants.
Witnessing Zheng Yichen put away the Holy Relic of Life, and with a snap of his fingers, even collecting the Eye of Life into the Soul-Subduing space within the fishing rod, another demigod set his sights on him, or more precisely, on the fishing rod he held.
Through extraordinary ntal perception, Zheng Yichen could sense the "greed" exuding from the other party, a greed that went beyond their interest in the Essence of Life. This demigod seed to recognize the value of the fishing rod in Zheng Yichen’s hand, or at least a part of its value.
And that part exceeded the Essence of Life.
That demigod... well, except for a demigod nad Kraywatt, Zheng Yichen didn’t recognize anyone else present. The demigod coveting his fishing rod had faint Divine Runes on his face, which made Zheng Yichen feel a hint of death aura when he looked at him.
As for the presence of a Death type demigod in the City of Dawn Light, Zheng Yichen no longer found it strange. The fire dragon had educated him extensively on such matters. The True Gods of the Death type were not necessarily part of the Evil Faction; they rely embodied death as an attribute. Moreover, death was a part of the cycle of rebirth in this world.
Therefore, the City of Dawn Light didn’t ostracize beings of the Death type, as long as there was no evil in their power of death.
In the world of magic, due to the high developnt of power tiers, the understanding of power wasn’t entirely antagonistic based on opposing attributes. The Order Faction had beings of both Life and Death types, and the Evil and Chaotic Faction also contained such entities.
Like firearms, which in the hands of soldiers and police officers serve to maintain order and enforce the law but beco tools for murder in the hands of criminals.
"I’ll create an opportunity for you to run toward the City of Dawn Light in a mont,"
a faint voice reached Zheng Yichen’s ear. Zheng Yichen couldn’t determine who had spoken, but he smiled in response, "Thank you, but I don’t need it for the ti being."
A blood-colored Qi mbrane burst forth from Zheng Yichen, and his fishing rod was enveloped by a black substance: "Want my possessions? Then co and take them, if you’re able!"
The gust from the swinging long spear was thrust straight at Kraywatt, a man with hair past his shoulders, looking very sunny and handso. Being of Life type, demigods usually had high attractiveness unless they were of the evil Life type.
The demigod couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his eye as he saw Zheng Yichen taking the initiative to attack him. He placed great importance on the Holy Relic of Life in Zheng Yichen’s hand but had not been the first to pick a fight. The first demigod that targeted Zheng Yichen also had so connection with the Life type.
However, that demigod was not a direct descendent of a True God of Life but rather the offspring of a demigod and a Life type demigod.
With a background in Life type, their demigod lineage wasn’t as pure as the first generation, but even so, the Holy Relic of Life still held trendous appeal, promising a further journey on the path of Life type for that demigod.
But why pick a fight with him instead of focusing on the other party?
Kraywatt had no intention of passing up the Life treasure; it was even more beneficial for him. As a pure Life type demigod, the Life treasure would be most potent in his hands.
Zheng Yichen was incredibly fast. Without ti for much thought, Kraywatt defended against Zheng Yichen’s strike. In common perception, Life type beings were weak in combat, often relegated to a support role.
In reality, once a being of the Life type pathway chose the right route and gained a deep understanding of power, they were not weak at all.
The explosion of energy from the collision flattened part of the wildly growing jungle below. Kraywatt took Zheng Yichen’s strike head-on, gripping the black spear in Zheng Yichen’s hand, which began to show cracks under the force of his grasp.
Seeing this, Zheng Yichen was not surprised. He had considerable information on Kraywatt. This Life type demigod once bred an Evil Dragon Beast using a mother dragon, and he had perford many other life modifications—unreliable experints for testing, and the reliable results were used on himself.
This demigod had extrely high bodily strength. It was easy for those following the path of Life type to enhance their physical fitness. Maximized body strength, supre regeneration, and high resistance to death were standard for a Life type demigod.
Magical level? Their magical level wouldn’t be weak either. The physical enhancents were rely by-products of the path of the Life type.
The Life type demigod in front of him had only reached out to grab Zheng Yichen’s weapon, so if he were to transform later, Zheng Yichen wouldn’t be surprised.
A trace of blood flowed down Kraywatt’s palm and seeped into the cracks on the black spear. Kraywatt’s eyes widened, his face registering shock. His body, more formidable than so lower-tier True Gods... was injured?
