"Speaking of which, a complete Divine Rune can fetch a nice price," Klakauska smacked his lips as he casually chatted with Zheng Yichen, roasting a freshly-killed Blast Fla Tiger over the fire in front of them. Talk about dining on magical beasts!
"Has a Demigod ever sold one?"
Klakauska shook his head, "Er, generally speaking, no. Demigods do care about their face.
He had told Zheng Yichen before, it’s because a Demigod’s abundance and density of Divine Runes result from being unable to fully carry the Divinity that cos with their bloodline. But mages love to interact with such Demigods, as their powers are relatively weak and they can analyze the power of gods from them.
"But anything can happen, you know about forbidden spells?"
Zheng Yichen nodded. Many novels have this setting where, in magic, forbidden spells are like the nuclear bombs of that world.
"In my world, forbidden spells were originally Divine Rune magic, created by so formidable casters by deciphering Divine Runes. This magic is powerful enough to severely injure or even kill Demigods and pose the most direct threat to gods themselves.
Even though the conditions for using them are sowhat harsh, to the extent that this kind of magic is resisted and even banned by Divinity creatures, that’s why Divine Rune magic has beco a forbidden spell. The reason given by the Divinity creatures for resisting it is that Divine Rune magic is sothing that mortal mages pry into the domain of gods and steal, hence the ban," Klakauska explained.
Zheng Yichen tasted the cooked at. It tasted almost like how the fire dragon described it, not requiring much seasoning to have a spicy kick, and it felt quite nice. He said, "Those Divinity creatures even gave a reason?"
"Hahaha, yeah, they even made up a reason for it," Klakauska laughed and said, "But this reason and the ban aren’t very effective. Those with Divinity are not all on the sa page. For instance, those who reach the realm of Demigod through their own abilities aren’t too concerned about the naturally born Demigods, and it is said that the first batch of forbidden spells were created by these self-made Demigods.
Later on, the forbidden spells spread, and even non-Divine mages could use them, though the conditions were high. Ordinary mages wanting to cast a forbidden spell would have to do it together, like forming a forbidden spell team, which takes a long ti to cast, and the ban is more against these kinds of teams.
If any mage or forbidden spell team can reduce the casting ti of a forbidden spell to under five minutes, the ban isn’t much of use. And for those mages who can cast a forbidden spell in combat, they just ignore the ban like it’s nothing."
Having said that, the fire dragon glanced at Zheng Yichen’s shadow. Although the ashes silhouette had been withdrawn, the re thought of how eerie that thing was gave the fire dragon a headache; its laughter was truly unsettling.
What’s more significant is that, when it cooperates with another of Zheng Yichen’s summoned spirits, it can almost effortlessly kill a Demigod.

"By the way, how’s the ’flavor’ of this Demigod?"

"I don’t feel much," Zheng Yichen waved his hand dismissively. He didn’t particularly like that kind of corrupt power, and he wasn’t too concerned about not gaining it. Besides, it wasn’t like he gained nothing at all; he could feel so changes in his soul control, which probably related to the ’corruption’ power of that Demigod, but it wasn’t manifesting in an obvious way, showing its effect when he used soul control.
"My physical condition has recovered quite nicely, nearly perfect." The boost received from a Demigod was rather significant. Apart from the individual’s baseline enhancent, part of the improvent related to the Performance Coefficient, but his strength Performance Coefficient was already high, so this boost was more like icing on the cake.
"Shall we then go after the next target?" the fire dragon asked as it touched its mouth, sensing a good opportunity.
After all, Zheng Yichen’s handling of that Demigod had been too quiet, killing swiftly, and with all witnesses at the scene silenced, the news wouldn’t imdiately reach other Demigods’ ears. Normal subordinates might not be discovered imdiately, but it’s different for those who were corrupted. If there was action, they should strike while the iron is hot.
He had plenty of targets in his hand, and his friends from the Dragon Tribe could provide him with enough information for Klakauska to find the next suitable target. As long as Zheng Yichen could withstand it, they could travel non-stop all day, hunting Demigods.
The world was so large that as long as they moved fast enough, by the ti other Demigods realized sothing was wrong, their hunting plans would be nearly complete.
"I actually suggest we go straight for your nesis now," Klakauska proposed.
"..." After a mont of silence, Klakauska shook his head, "Let’s play it safe. That guy is really strong. The Divine Runes on him are scarce, and his strength is not sothing last ti’s Demigod can compare to."
