Rebecca’s condition was sowhat frantic, but she hadn’t descended into madness, which allowed Alice to relax slightly — at least she didn’t have to guard against a lunatic sneak-attacking her from behind.

However, a little less pressure didn’t make their situation much better. In the end, they would still have to make the very choice they least desired. After having obtained what she wanted, she might lose everything because of so ridiculous reasons...

Could such a person as herself catalyze an extrely formidable ntal Aberration creature? Whether the ntal Aberration creature would fall under the control of an Evil Spirit, she couldn’t guarantee, yet when the ti ca, she could use so of the thods her mother had taught her to ensure the ntal Aberration creature would surely be the most insane.

That should be enough, right?

But Alice still planned to hold on a bit longer to see how fast the actions were in the city they were headed to. If they could catch up, then they could struggle a bit more; if not, they would have to give up.

A scream ca from behind her, and Alice saw Rebecca’s arm wrapped in the tentacles of a ntal Aberration creature, twisted in an unnatural shape, while the staff adorned with runes fell back onto the flatbed.

Raising her rune gun, she blew the ntal Aberration creature apart, saving the girl from being dragged away, but the injury also snuffed out Rebecca’s last will to resist. Her eyes, sowhat lifeless, stared ahead. Although not insane, she had lost the will to resist under the ntal pressure of the Evil Spirits.

It seed as if things were coming to an end.

Alice sighed internally, pointing the rune gun under her chin, ready to accept such a fate. Not much anger was left in her, more a feeling of unwillingness, but when it ca to it, there was nothing else to say, just like this... right?

A tornado-like pillar of fire enveloped them, the surrounding Evil Spirits and ntal Aberration creatures screaming as they dissipated into nothingness within such an attack. The teal flas, hot and yet cold, brought Alice new hope in this mont.

"I watched your battle for a while," ca Zheng Yichen’s voice as the flas died down.

Alice revealed a weak smile, "You should’ve given a heads up earlier; then I would have tried harder instead of looking so pathetic."

She didn’t complain about Zheng Yichen choosing this particular mont to step in and help; he had already explained his reasons to her.

"Honestly, a woman fighting against Evil Spirits is super cool," snapped Zheng Yichen, and amidst the remaining Evil Spirits’ screams, the multi-handed Heroic Spirit appeared. This Heroic Spirit, likely to be a transmutation of the Great Evil God, hadn’t shown much self-awareness yet, but had already demonstrated corresponding combat abilities.

He raised one of its twelve hands, and the faint golden light radiating from it beca the sharpest sword, piercing fleeing Evil Spirits from afar. Those killed by this attack didn’t turn into black smoke but disappeared as if lting away.

Zheng Yichen’s thermal vision noticed a ’heat source’ converging towards the multi-handed Heroic Spirit at a rapid pace, which he had no way of intercepting.

In the pale golden light, the listless Rebecca also ca back to her senses. She clutched her arm and scread, tears welling up from the pain.

Zheng Yichen walked over and, as she continued to shriek, he pinched her arm and with a snap, straightened her broken bone. Catching a bottle of potion that popped out of the motorcycle, he poured it into the young girl’s mouth, "Swallow it if you don’t want scars."

"It’s so bitter—" Rebecca grimaced, wailing, and then quickly realized sothing, "How could a bone fracture leave a scar..."

Her arm had been broken, but the bone hadn’t pierced through the flesh.

"Bones can leave scars," Zheng Yichen withdrew his hand as Rebecca looked puzzledly at the layer of light film on her arm.

The film acted like a cast, and she could feel a warm power seeping into her arm, focusing on the fracture. The pain persisted, but perhaps due to the potion she’d just drunk, the pain began to subside quickly, and her fingers could move again.

"Did you know it would be like this?" Alice looked at the multi-handed Heroic Spirit, which had ceased its attacks, her eyes reflecting thought.

Feeling the glow of that pale golden light, she thought that she too could attempt to unleash the sa attack, save for the right conditions that had to be t.

"I didn’t know, but I thought about it and since you were planning to leave anyway, I didn’t have to rush to depart. It’s just a few dozen kiloters away, and it wouldn’t take more than ten minutes," he said.

"But it will take us several hours," Alice glanced at the flatbed, where the ntal Aberration creature catalyzed by Rebecca had also been killed in the fight. The attack from the multi-handed Heroic Spirit was effective against all Evil Spirits.

"Playing the hero to save the beauty also has its romance."

"But it’s not romantic anymore when you say it out loud."

Zheng Yichen laughed a hearty laugh, "Strictly speaking, I’m a criminal in Dusk Territory."

He looked at the multi-handed Heroic Spirit. With its many hands, Zheng Yichen had thought it might fight like a boxer, its twelve fists overwhelming any opponent. However, its mode of attack seed more like that of a Mage?

After dismissing the multi-handed Heroic Spirit, Zheng Yichen summoned the outdated Cerberus to pull the cart, "Let’s be on our way, you’ll be safe once you reach the Dusk Territory."
