Seated on a rooftop with Zheng Yichen, Katrina looked at the police officers who were evacuating and asked, "In other worlds, do you also constantly exterminate those very special monsters?"

"I don’t decide that. The key is what kinds of monsters those people co up with." The anomaly had already disappeared. If he hadn’t gone there, he estimated many monsters from that tree would have appeared.

Zheng Yichen didn’t really care about what would happen to the people of that world after the Demon Tree was killed.

He tossed a piece of half-flesh, half-wood in his hand. This thing was scooped up after killing the Demon Tree, and as per the usual rule, split in two: one part to be sent to Ahn Ke, and the other to be taken back for the witches to study.

"We also helped a world that way, right? You seem to think it’s very ordinary?" Katrina nodded, her eyes betraying a hint of confusion as she looked at Zheng Yichen.

She felt sympathy and anger seeing so many people turned into monsters by being hung from the tree.

"...I’ve seen a lot. The worlds I go to are basically dood, too many people die, and there are many, many such worlds. If I were to get angry, wouldn’t I end up infuriating myself to death? Just deal with them one at a ti."

Zheng Yichen watched as a drone flew towards him, conveying Ahn Ke’s voice from within: "I’m here to collect the stuff."

"Using this? Aren’t you afraid of getting robbed?" Zheng Yichen placed the half-flesh, half-wooden object into a built-in compartnt of the drone.

The image of Ahn Ke projected from the drone: "It’s just sothing from a world linked to the anomaly, not worth getting into that kind of trouble."

"Alright then, I’m heading back."

Ahn Ke nodded: "Next ti sothing like this happens, contact Ahn Qi directly. It’s ti for to rest."

With a whoosh, the drone increased altitude and rapidly flew away from the area.

As the drone left, Zheng Yichen hugged Katrina and jumped down from the rooftop. No one was paying attention to this place at night.

After returning to his residence, he resud his usual daily routine.

A few days later, he arrived at the Dusk Cathedral. There was news about sothing he had wanted. Prioress Tia inford Zheng Yichen via text ssage, and not only that, upon arriving here, Zheng Yichen also found out sothing else...

His rit points had increased.

"?? What’s going on?" Zheng Yichen quickly took the notebook from Tia. He glanced at it; his rit points had gone from 62 to 66, an increase of 4 points: "Did I inadvertently kill so Boundary Breakers?"

"It’s related to the Boundary Breaking Faction."

Zheng Yichen was sowhat amazed: "Really? That counts?"

Tia, appearing unphased, nodded: "You can think of it as a side quest."

Realizing that the biggest thing he had dealt with these past few days was the Demon Tree from before, Zheng Yichen couldn’t help but grin. It seed like he could wander through anomalies in his daily life and stumble upon unexpected rewards, which was pretty nice.

He took out his phone and contacted Ahn Ke.

"What’s up?"

"I’m a bit curious how you manage to answer my calls so promptly every ti"

While conducting an experint, Ahn Ke motioned for an assistant to take over: "Did you call just for this? I’ve set aside a phone specifically for contacting you. Is there a problem?"

"No, I just got so new information. The piece of wood I gave you might be from the Boundary Breaking Faction."

"I’ve got it," Ahn Ke said and then hung up the phone. Even if that piece of wood was from the Boundary Breaking Faction, being reduced to just wood, they could research it and find out so things, but it wasn’t going to lead to the restoration of the original entity.

After a cursory study, they found that the substance could be used to create a kind of biological virus that caused mutated creatures to obey a certain host. The mutations it induced were also very stable, making it the part with the most research value.

Now that it was known to be related to the Boundary Breaking Faction, it didn’t matter much. Even with this relation, she could not gain more insight into the Boundary Breaking Faction; the two simply weren’t on the sa level, and the Ahn family had no intention of having any interaction with the Boundary Breaking Faction...

Later, Zheng Yichen called Katrina to tell her he would be ho late that night. He was waiting for Zero Point marketplace, as Tia had texted him that they had what he wanted.

Upon arriving at the locker, Zheng Yichen looked at the items stored inside: there were letters and recorded videos from Qi Xiangyun and her group, and so information sent over by Chiang Wei, which included ssages from Diplomat Nelly from the Firmant Wheel world, among others.

With such a pile of things, Zheng Yichen found a place to sit down and began to reply to each one with pen and paper. This was also a necessary ’job’.

He had to at least inform them that he was still alive, and doing well. The construction of Qi Family Town, on Qi Xiangyun’s side, was almost complete, and everything was developing rapidly; moreover, many humans were still searching for Supre Demon treasures.

The alien demon side was currently in chaos, as the death of the Supre Demon had a significant impact on them. Liu Hongzhao and Lin Yaoyao were also preparing to look for so Supre Demon relics, which would be helpful for the future developnt of Qi Family Town, and could beco an important logistical resource for their subsequent role as Dusk rcenaries.

In the last ssage from Qi Xiangyun, she ntioned that if things went well for them in the future, they might directly co to visit Zheng Yichen.

Chiang Wei’s side was much simpler. Zheng Yichen had sent over so tech that was too advanced, which would take a long ti for them to really figure out. In her ssages, Chiang Wei did not shy away from complaining about so systemic risks in the Firmant Wheel.

She expressed that Zheng Yichen had brought her the biggest challenge of her life. Before, she thought that many things in the network were simple, but only now did she realize there’s always a higher mountain; she needed more knowledge to power up.

She even wanted to go directly to the world with the Firmant Wheel for on-site learning.

In the items left by Chiang Wei, there was also a large storage disk containing her latest hacking achievents. In her ssage, she told Zheng Yichen that if he had ti, he should bring this disk to another world for testing.

The ssages from the Firmant Wheel world were even more explicit. On one hand, Zheng Yichen was told that if he needed any equipnt updates, he could directly contact them. On the other hand, many people in their world had already beco Dusk rcenaries and had obtained quite a few gains in a short period of ti.

In the future, if Zheng Yichen encountered Dusk rcenaries in other worlds who bore the mark or ornants of the Firmant, he could directly contact them, and they would provide him with the utmost assistance.

After dealing with this information, Zheng Yichen placed the storage disk left by Chiang Wei into the locker, where it would later be collected by Diplomat Nelly, who would also bring a computer provided by Nelly’s world to Chiang Wei’s locker.

"Hmm, now it’s ti to wait," said Zheng Yichen, looking at the people inside the Dusk Cathedral. Not seeing any familiar faces, he felt sowhat disappointed. Looking at the Dusk nuns busy nearby, he hesitated for a mont before going over to ask, "My friend nad Arno, how is he now?"

He was asking about Arno, whom he hadn’t seen for quite so ti, and Zheng Yichen was very concerned about this...

"Dead," replied the Dusk nun asked by Zheng Yichen, her expression calm.

"Oh—," Zheng Yichen returned to where he had been sitting before, no longer in the mood to continue looking at his phone. Death was a common occurrence for rcenaries who fought between life and death. It made Zheng Yichen feel sowhat distressed when it happened to soone he knew.

He sighed, propped his head on his arm, and decided to sleep for a while. If even the Dusk Territory wasn’t safe, then there was no safe place left. While resting, Zheng Yichen had another dream.

In the dream, a man sat next to him, smoking and chatting about various things until the cigarette ran out. Then the man got up and looked towards the hazy area in the distance, "Having this last chat with you was nice. Goodbye."

Zheng Yichen opened his eyes, and Prioress Tia was standing in front of him. It was nearly midnight. He rubbed his eyes and said to Tia, "I had a dream. Arno and I had one last talk."

"Now you’ve woken from that dream."

"Sigh— I have indeed," Zheng Yichen checked his phone, which had no new ssages while he was asleep. Inside the Dusk Cathedral, it wasn’t particularly empty at this mont, but there were no ordinary people; those who ca here were mostly Dusk rcenaries.

He found what he was looking for here.

When the Zero Point marketplace officially opened, Zheng Yichen started his search for the items he wanted, beginning with those related to space...there were none. The power of spatial distortion could give Zheng Yichen a speed boost in combat and enhance his offensive and defensive capabilities, but it wasn’t enough to allow for special movent.

If possible, he still wanted to find sothing that allowed for normal spatial movent to enhance his weapon. If it wasn’t a space-related item, then it must be another kind.

Zheng Yichen found a dark purple stone with many twisted faces on it at a booth set up by a Dusk rcenary.

"What’s the price for this?" he inquired.

"Soul-Subduing magic stone. I took it from a lich," replied the Dusk rcenary after looking at Zheng Yichen, "If you want it, it’s 1 rit point."

How to put it, this price was very affordable in Zheng Yichen’s opinion. He had understood from previous visits to the Zero Point marketplace that items requiring rit points usually ranged between 1 to 3 points. Even the special-looking items didn’t seem very expensive.

The reason, of course, had to do with the scale of the market. Zero Point marketplace was where the Dusk rcenaries of this world traded, and rit points weren’t that easy to obtain for them. If the price was too high, they simply couldn’t sell the items. Moreover, the items offered for sale were often those they didn’t need.

Holding onto items that one didn’t need was a waste — better to exchange them for rit points that could be used right away.
