This "world" seed to be dying, with the breath of death seeping out from the opened channels of the dead, but the escaping deathly aura was feeble. Many people had died in this world, yet the World of Death was overwhelmingly desolate and silent, utterly empty.

"We are in the observation phase of the World of Death and cannot normally step into the world of the deceased," said Wise Dragon No. 9, providing Zheng Yichen with so data. Those who had co into contact with the World of Death either died or went insane.

After a brief glance at the information, Zheng Yichen had an idea. It seed that the World of Death in this world was strictly off-limits, making it difficult for the living to venture directly into it.

"Are there gods in this world?" he asked.

"If you an the kind from stories, then no," replied Wise Dragon No. 9.

"Then it’s no problem," Zheng Yichen said, taking so dicines before leaving the pharmacy. He now had nothing else he needed to take and imdiately planned to grab the blank carrier and leave this place.

At that mont, Wise Dragon No. 9 stopped Zheng Yichen. "Please take with you. My main body has stored a large amount of valuable data. If this world is indeed dood to destruction, then the revenge protocol will be activated."

"If this world is destroyed, it would an my death as well," Zheng Yichen said.

Zheng Yichen arrived at the main body location of Wise Dragon No. 9, expecting it to be large. To his surprise, the main body was unexpectedly small, just a palm-sized octahedron. Next to it was another blank octahedron—what Zheng Yichen had intended to use as enhancent material.

Considering the travel involved, it was worth it for him to detour back to Dusk Cathedral. However, with the Firmant Wheel overhead, returning was not a wise choice.

"Do I just pull this thing out?" Zheng Yichen asked, looking at Wise Dragon No. 9, a specter-like presence that followed him.

"You can directly remove it. I have already adjusted the operational status within the base. It will still function automatically after we leave," Wise Dragon No. 9 said.

Zheng Yichen yanked the octahedron out and placed it into a box that a chanical arm had prepared, which he quickly closed. With the lid sealed, the presence beside him slowly disappeared, and Zheng Yichen tapped his head.

"I forgot to have Lilith add a mo," he muttered.

Too focused on upgrading the computer, he neglected that the motorcycle’s energy system also needed an upgrade.

After securing the blank octahedron, Zahng Yichen stashed the box away in the storage compartnt and clapped his hands, looking at his now significantly bulkier motorcycle: "Alright, let’s set off!"

The resource collection was complete. Everything worth taking from Wise Dragon No. 9 Base had been taken, including weaponry, ammunition, and so other reconnaissance equipnt. However, those gadgets were ant to be used and discarded on the go, like drones, which would run out of power once deployed.

At Base No. 9, so energy-charged items could be preserved, thanks to the protective asures provided by Wise Dragon No. 9, which held up against the onslaught. Even so, it was only possible to shield so critical items; most of the base’s internal areas had to be surrendered, as full protection would be too much of a burden on the energy system, which wouldn’t last until Zheng Yichen’s arrival.

This highlighted the vast gap between the top ten Wise Dragon bases and the rest.

And then there was the revenge protocol of Wise Dragon No. 9. Zheng Yichen pondered its potential, resolving that if he failed his mission, he would instruct Lilith to collect other artificial intelligences from the Wise Dragon series.

On his way, Zheng Yichen played so audio recordings concerning conversations between the three Devourers. The data provided by Wise Dragon No. 9 was comprehensive, albeit abridged. Listening to these recordings, made due to surveillance, was not only a way to pass ti but also provided him with additional insights.

The recordings revealed that the Devourers had a high demand for advanced-level worlds. Despite their considerable strength and weaponry, many still sought to obtain new armants from their native world, giving off the impression... Dusk could certainly use a massive glowing sphere.

From the recordings, Zheng Yichen learned that the reason why the Devourers were so enthusiastic about treasure hunting was that so had successfully opened hidden bases, whose resources were now depleted. Upon entering, it was as if they stumbled into a treasure trove.

Various weapons and equipnt were readily available, and even if so gear was malfunctioning, it could be repaired upon return. Issues of incompatibility could be resolved gradually—first, take the valuable items and then worry about the rest. Moreover, those bases contained nurous raw materials, so of which were rare even in their own world.

The plundering of resources had always been a fervently pursued activity. The Devouring System drained the life from entire worlds, but soone had to retrieve those resources. So worlds weren’t worth the extra scavenging, but this world was different.

Furthermore, from the casual conversations recorded among the Devourers, Zheng Yichen caught wind of information about the Boundary Breakers. Indeed, they were cooperating this ti, although they still despised each other during the cooperation—especially the Devourers toward the Boundary Breakers.

This ti, they could only extract the blood of this world, unable to take its ’heart’. Once the extraction reached a certain extent, the rest would belong to the Boundary Breakers, including most of the world’s material resources.

The Boundary Breakers could carry the pot away, while the Devourers were only able to pick at the vegetables inside without using a spoon!
