"The Snake God was already very cunning. After two Supre Demons died consecutively, the other Supre Demons have already taken notice, and are probably becoming increasingly anxious," said Yi Nan with a smile, pleased by the discomfort of the Supre Demons that plagued the human race.
This was indeed quite pleasing.
"Supre Demons don’t want to die either," Wei Xue remarked, looking at the Compass in Zheng Yichen’s hand. Without the Compass and the enhancent provided by Heaven’s Mandate they’d received, they would most likely have been fooled upon arriving here. Even if they realized that the scene was staged by the Snake God, they wouldn’t dream of being able to root out the Snake God.
But now it was different; the unique properties of the Compass combined with their initiative ant the Snake God, no matter how well it hid, would have nowhere to escape!
"Drag her out," Zheng Yichen handed the Compass over to Wei Xue.
The Diviner smiled, looked at the information on the Compass, and after a brief divination, his smile grew a bit more restrained, "I think the Snake God is now watching our every move very carefully."
Wei Xue said, then stepped back a bit, to stand very close to Yi Nan and the others.
Yi Nan also sensed sothing and asked jokingly, "And why is that?"
"Because we are in the belly of the Snake God," he said.
No sooner had his voice faded when the surroundings changed drastically; the mountain walls turned into writhing flesh, the viscous liquid in the pond gushed out, turning into a fiery acid, and the serpent’s exuvia swam and expanded in the gushing acid, covering Zheng Yichen and the others.
It was clear the Snake God had identified Yi Nan and his group as the greater threats. Perhaps it was experience cultivated by Supre Demons who survived god-hunting, which taught them: after confronting god-hunters, first kill the Diviners to be sure.
If these Diviners could so easily pierce through Its disguise, it wouldn’t do to not clear them out; after all, wouldn’t these few Diviners directly mark Its weaknesses soon?
And that Compass, it emanated an aura that even made Supre Demons feel slightly uncomfortable. Yet, it also gave a peculiar sensation that, if It could refine the Compass, It as a Supre Demon could ascend even further.
Zheng Yichen and Liu Hongzhao also posed threats, but one was cursed with the Reincarnation Curse, and the other, a young girl not yet co into her own. Like sheep entering the tiger’s den, it was best to deal with the Diviners first and blind them.
Boom—
A blast of wind dispersed the acid, and a dense swarm of blood-red wind-sword energy sliced through the inner walls of the Snake God’s stomach, leaving behind fine wounds on the tough tissue, which convulsed violently as blood mixed with acid surged out. The serpent’s exuvia, too, ca to life, opening its huge mouth to bite at Liu Hongzhao.
Seeing the approaching exuvia, Liu Hongzhao glanced down. The writhing stomach walls had already enveloped her feet, restricting her movents, and throughout the process, she felt nothing. If she chose to dodge, she would certainly suffer greatly from this silent constraint.
However, Liu Hongzhao didn’t appear worried as she put all her strength into eting the bite of the serpent’s exuvia.
Her most trusted Brother Chang Qing was right by her side, after all!
The explosive wave of air stirred the red-haired girl’s long locks. The stomach wall around her feet burst apart, the exuvia emitted an ear-piercing hiss, and the blood-red Sword Qi slashed through its open mouth, splitting the entire serpent’s exuvia in two.
The bisected exuvia partly dissolved into white venom, while the other half transford into an enormous sack that enclosed them.
Before the sack could fully form, an attack erupted from within, shattering the Snake God’s white sack, and a rich, dark green cloud of fire filled the writhing stomach.
The teor fire rain that had been held back during the last fight with the Supre Demon was now completely unleashed.
