Clip-clop, clip-clop——

From afar, the sound of horse hooves approached, and Qi Xiangyun, who was sitting on a carpet enjoying the afternoon with Zheng Yichen, looked toward the direction of the sound. Her hearing was excellent, and she was very familiar with the clatter of hooves, though there were not many normal horses left in this world.

In the wild, there were so horses transford by alien demons, but those were not easy to ta. Even if tad, they tended to be wildly temperantal.

Qi Xiangyun knew that Liu Hongzhao owned a normal horse, one she had acquired from another world, said to have the bloodline of an alien beast.

"...Brother Chang Qing, Hongzhao and the others are back," said Qi Xiangyun to Zheng Yichen; not only had they returned, but they had also co directly to find them.

"I’ve already seen them," replied Zheng Yichen, his gaze following the sounds to a figure in red galloping their way. Behind the red-clad girl, another girl waved at them over the distance.

"Brother Chang Qing, good afternoon," Lin Yaoyao said with high spirits as she hopped off the horseback and made her way to Zheng Yichen’s side.

Liu Hongzhao caressed the horse’s head, her eyes lingering on Zheng Yichen for a mont before shifting to the skeletons not far away. So skulls were buried in the ground, moist soil greatly limiting the skeletons’ ability to break free.

Another skeleton stood erect like a model.

None of that mattered as much as the sight of Qi Xiangyun and Zheng Yichen’s picnic setting, with fish bones and a barbecue grill nearby... It seed she had missed sothing quite enjoyable.

But it wasn’t too late.

After she and Lin Yaoyao returned, they imdiately checked the storage locker and, as expected, found many ssages from Zheng Yichen. They hadn’t paid close attention to old ssages and only read the latest one, which indicated that Zheng Yichen had co to their native world.

They hurried to Qi Family Town but didn’t find Qi Xiangyun and Zheng Yichen. Instead, they learned from so people that Qi Xiangyun had left with a young man who had arrived three days ago, consistent with Zheng Yichen’s latest ssage at Dusk.

The person they missed the most had co to their native world, but instead of settling down to cultivate or investigate issues of the past, Liu Hongzhao eagerly gathered so information and rode out to find him.

It wasn’t a difficult feat, as they each possessed a Supre Demon Weapon, items that could sense each other, albeit without precise localization. The general direction, however, could be determined.

Finding him had been quite straightforward.

"Brother Chang Qing, I’ve missed you so much." Setting down the Supre Demon Weapon she had been carrying, Liu Hongzhao sat beside Zheng Yichen, while Lin Yaoyao, a step slower and slightly begrudging, took a seat opposite him.

"Here I am, aren’t I?" Zheng Yichen said with a smile, looking at Liu Hongzhao’s hair which was starting to show so red tints.

The dye in her hair wasn’t permanent. Near her scalp, the original color was showing, indicating it was ti to refresh the color to maintain her black hair.

"Brother Chang Qing, what made you suddenly decide to co to our side?" Liu Hongzhao asked curiously.

Zheng Yichen glanced at the Supre Demon Weapon lying flat behind Qi Xiangyun and said, "My strength has improved recently, and I’ve obtained a weapon that seems capable of dealing with the Supre Demon. So, I ca to take a look and, if possible, help you resolve so lingering issues."

Liu Hongzhao had also ntioned to him before that traces of the Supre Demon had appeared again in her native world.

"...I’m sorry," Liu Hongzhao said in a low voice after a mont of silence.

Lin Yaoyao seed to realize sothing as well, showing a conflicted expression.

"If you’re talking about the Dusk rcenary issue, there’s no need to apologize. In matters like these, all I can say is to be extra careful. Dusk rcenaries are not like Proxy Agents without an escape; surviving is what matters most."

Zheng Yichen wasn’t angry about their choices. Although he cared to an extent, it was their decision to make. He could interfere in the future, but such interventions would co in other forms, like increasing their strength or saving them in certain situations.

Lin Yaoyao sighed in relief, and then her face lit up with a big smile. "Brother Chang Qing, this ti I’ve found quite a few treasures and learned a lot," she said cheerfully.

Liu Hongzhao remained silent. What she dwelled on were Zheng Yichen’s earlier words about confronting the Supre Demon. After many experiences, she felt that while such beings were powerful, they were not invincible, and she had even conceived nurous strategies.

Supre Demons possess robust immortality in their native worlds, but that’s not necessarily the case when they appear in other worlds. They may still have a form of immortality; however, it’s generally reduced to being difficult to kill.

In her interactions with her peers, Liu Hongzhao learned a great deal. Environntal Adjustnt greatly affects Dusk rcenaries and other beings; even Proxy Agents can’t escape its effects, let alone Supre Demons. Besides Environntal Adjustnt, there are also special beings that have connections with their ’native’ worlds.

Once the connection to their native world is lost, they tend to lose certain characteristics, or so of their attributes are significantly weakened.

If they were in a different environnt, it would beco easier to kill a Supre Demon!

As for strength... she had encountered a world with a higher environnt, where martial arts were more like Immortal Techniques, and the power was several tis greater than in her own world. There, she distinctly felt her Blood Asura inner force beginning to liquefy.

In that world, she was very strong, but when she returned to her own world, everything went back to normal. This inevitably led to a sense of disparity, but later, after experiencing worlds with lower environnts, her Inner Strength beca significantly weakened.

The dense fog turned to mist, but overall, the impact on her wasn’t major. Liu owned a Supre Demon Weapon, which was a trendous killing device in itself. Her special attributes were devouring and wind. Without needing to devour, she was as swift as the wind in battle, slaying her enemies with her sword before they could even react.

Throughout nurous rcenary missions, she encountered all sorts of people. There were good and bad mbers among the Dusk rcenaries, and she experienced all sorts of things across different worlds.

Training in martial arts made her seem mature, but her youthful appearance was evident, and she was often deceived and used. But from the start, she never trusted anyone else and appeared quite fierce within the circles of the Dusk rcenaries.

At the slightest provocation, she resorted to violence.

After several more missions, she gained a deeper understanding of the rcenary circle, and with new experiences, she managed to improve this situation considerably. But the cost of going solo ant that many tasks were incredibly challenging.

She was an easy target for group attacks, but that didn’t bother her. Being a group combat expert, her devouring trait combined with Blood Asura allowed her to recover quickly. As long as she didn’t forcibly follow Zheng Yichen’s example of absorbing copious amounts of blood energy to use Blood Combustion Transform to Origin, she was fine.

Using the absorbed blood energy for a Blood Sacrifice Burst no longer posed any pressure or impact on her. Blood Combustion Transform to Origin exchanges blood for higher attributes, and mixing different types of blood could affect her, while Blood Sacrifice Burst used the life essence in the blood as fuel.

This fuel was for external use; once ignited, it exploded outward without affecting her.

In group battles, the more blood energy provided by others, the stronger her killing power beca; mob fights didn’t intimidate her. But working alone on certain matters ant a lack of cooperation and involved a lot of running around, which was a bit troubleso.

This also led Qi Xiangyun to gain a new understanding of Zheng Yichen’s Proxy Agent thod. As a Dusk rcenary, she could, like Zheng Yichen claid, give up when things were impossible. However, Zheng Yichen had no choice but to persevere.

Afterward, Lin Yaoyao joined her, and their partnership made her actions much easier. Lin Yaoyao was delving into dical studies and kept up with her martial arts training, providing formidable combat strength.

Lin Yaoyao learned and collected dical knowledge in the world where they undertook rcenary missions, while Liu Hongzhao looked for new ways to improve, especially thods that were particularly effective against Supre Demons. Spells were also an option.

While dical knowledge was easy to find, thods against Supre Demons were scarce because such ans would inevitably be targeted by Supre Demons themselves. In worlds inhabited by Supre Demons, unless the human race could produce a being capable of directly confronting Supre Demons...

...the existence of such thods tended to result in a swift and self-inflicted death by a backstabbing... no, for a Supre Demon, there was no need for such ans; a brutally cruel death for the researcher sufficed to deter others from pursuing related studies.

So far, the thods Liu Hongzhao had discovered involved either forcibly dragging a Supre Demon into an anomaly to fight in an unfamiliar environnt or searching for items with certain rules associated with them.

She had heard from so Dusk rcenaries about these unique items, which, under their influence, required abiding by certain rules. These rules weren’t clear cut and had to be figured out; failing to understand them ant an easy death, and exemptions were hard to co by.

Perhaps such items could be used against Supre Demons...

Of course, apart from the conditions and items ntioned, she desired to rely on her own raw strength to deal with Supre Demons. No matter how great external items or environnts are, only personal strength can address a variety of issues.

"Brother Chang Qing, I want to join you when we fight against a Supre Demon," she said.

"There’s no rush; the Diviner I’m consulting hasn’t co back yet. We’ll discuss this matter once the Diviner returns," Zheng Yichen responded. Liu Hongzhao was now close to him, and they both practiced the sa martial arts. Zheng Yichen could feel the intensity of her breath.

It was a sharp and potent breath. Since both of them were new to practicing this martial art, neither had much experience to draw on. He was unsure whether Liu Hongzhao’s current condition was good or bad. Was she courting disaster through her practice, perhaps Demonization?

But they were already training in magic power, so talking about courting disaster or Demonization... well, it was magic power after all.
