In the following tests, Zheng Yichen’s saliva and sweat were both found to carry hallucinogens derived from sandworms, identical to Ahn Ke’s research findings. Ahn Ke even conducted an experint on Zheng Yichen, using an experintal ’small animal,’ which was a type of wolf used for experints.
Under the influence of the hallucinogen extracted from Zheng Yichen’s saliva, the wolf transford into a large obedient dog, lying on the ground with the animated expressions typical of a Husky.
With one hand in her pocket and the other wearing a glove, Ahn Ke slapped the wolf’s ears several tis, but the wolf just showed a ’silly’ expression, with no further reaction, seeming to enjoy it.
"How long will it stay like this?"
"Since it’s only a trace amount of hallucinogen, it should recover in an hour. If the target is too deeply affected by the hallucinogen, then don’t expect an easy recovery,"
While speaking, Ahn Ke glanced at Zheng Yichen. "If there’s such an unlucky fellow, please send them over to ; we’ll take care of the aftermath very cleanly."
"Don’t talk like I can’t control my own body," Zheng Yichen said with so regret, waving his hand. Having hallucinogens in his sweat and saliva, even though not as concentrated as in his blood, was already having a sufficient effect on living beings, without the need for much contact.
Ordinary evaporation could turn him into a mobile source of hallucinogens. Luckily, his physical condition was excellent, and he wouldn’t sweat easily. As for saliva... uh, there probably wouldn’t be much issue; he only had two als in the last world.
The concentration of hallucinogens in saliva wouldn’t be too high, and moreover, people there still scrubbed dishes and washed bowls, so it shouldn’t be a big problem.
"Then, based on the current situation, how long will it take for to recover to normal, to the point where I won’t affect others?"
"Two months." Ahn Ke provided a rough tiline. "The hallucinogens in your body aren’t being absorbed, they’re being stored and broken down. This is a beneficial trait for you, allowing you to in turn utilize the enemy’s hallucinogenic characteristics."
This trait ant Zheng Yichen’s body wouldn’t break down the hallucinogens very quickly. For himself, the hallucinogens no longer posed any negative effects, and when fighting new enemies, any injuries or sweating would cause the hallucinogens to disperse into the air.
If the enemy was the bloodthirsty type that liked to lick the blood on their blades, well... that would just be asking for trouble.
This was a unique advantage for Zheng Yichen.
"What a damn hassle!" Zheng Yichen cursed to himself, thinking of items like little umbrellas that could offer so protection, but what about his sweat and saliva? That really was problematic.
"I can create a highly realistic bionic being if you need one..."
"No, I don’t," Zheng Yichen quickly shook his head. "Let’s leave it at that for now; it’s getting late, I’m going to rest."
Ahn Ke nodded and left the lab.
That surprised Zheng Yichen. "You’re not going to pull an all-nighter?"
In his eyes, Ahn Ke was the type of research fanatic with eyes that often held an uncomfortable gleam. Zheng Yichen wasn’t too bothered by this; he had seen too much already. The thrill of facing a cancerous planet was far more intense than Ahn Ke’s gaze.
To him, such scenes were trivial; Ahn Ke’s look was no different from the gaze of a kitten.
"That’s a misconception you have about researchers. I always maintain a regular schedule for rest."
Glancing at the ti, which showed it was past eight o’clock, and seeing that Ahn Ke really didn’t seem to plan on continuing work, Zheng Yichen felt he couldn’t refute her.
The research institute had a resting area, but it was vastly different from a ho environnt. It lacked any sense of life, focusing solely on convenience, just allowing for rest without any fancy extras.
At least a hotel room would have a television, but this place didn’t even have that.
"I’m staying next door, if you need anything, just co find ," said Ahn Ke with a calm tone that carried a hint of concealed anticipation.
"? Is there sothing wrong with your sister?" Zheng Yichen looked towards Ahn Qi, whose expression seed sowhat off.
"...What could be wrong? She just wants your genetic material," Ahn Qi said before stepping into another resting room and closing the door behind her.
The fifth sister, Ahn Ke, was very keen on conducting in-depth research on Zheng Yichen. Even though Zheng Yichen’s blood was difficult to preserve and prone to spoilage, preventing cloning and such operations, deep research wasn’t only about the blood; there were many other thods to employ.
"I’ll prepare an antidote for the hallucinogen," said Ahn Ke before entering her own rest room.
"What the hell... since when did I beco so popular?" Zheng Yichen muttered to himself, took a bath, and lay on a bed that felt less than great to the touch. It wasn’t that the sheets were poor quality, it was just that Zheng Yichen preferred those cotton flannel blankets when in a comfortable environnt.
Before sleeping, he browsed on his phone for a bit, watching a strear conducting a late-night live stream about the Old Capital enveloped in a dense fog.
However, this strear was the reckless type, even though they were live streaming, they avoided wandering around and stayed within the bounds of safety.
