Zheng Yichen didn’t give the middle-aged man any chance to be startled, as he swiftly pursued him. How could he possibly be at a disadvantage in head-on combat?
It was a joke!
Even if the middle-aged man was adept at close combat, Zheng Yichen’s close combat abilities were not inferior. After all, many techniques he used to exert his physical strength and so close combat skills largely ca from a world of pure strength levels, where the experts had developed their physical strength to a very high degree.
And in this world, with its high energy levels, the developnt of close combat techniques was not as pure, due to the influence of the high energy levels.
It even affected the developntal paths of so combat techniques, just like the martial arts in the world of the Battle Maniac Asura.
The long spear broke through the middle-aged man’s reford light shield, and the blood dragon coiled around the man’s body. With a single thought from Zheng Yichen, he could tear the man apart in the next instant.
What Zheng Yichen did was pierce through the middle-aged man’s shoulder with his spear, causing the man’s vitality to rapidly weaken. Staring at Zheng Yichen with unwilling eyes, the man had been cautious, but Zheng Yichen was just too strong. His Light type powers had a hard ti fending off Zheng Yichen during their engagent.
Zheng Yichen, with his intent to fight decisively, didn’t give him any chance to maneuver.
Having his shoulder pierced by the long spear, the middle-aged man could feel his blood quickly draining away, his body turning icy cold. The Light type power inside him struggled against Zheng Yichen’s blood-sucking, but every ti he tried, a wildly rampaging force would scatter the power gathered within his body.
Just when he thought he was going to die, Zheng Yichen abruptly retracted the long spear, "Rember my face. Later on, be sure to carve a statue of , and brand it ’Savior.’ You owe that."
Zheng Yichen didn’t care whether the nearly unconscious middle-aged man had heard him. After defeating his opponent, he quickly left the area. Being targeted by a group of strong warriors didn’t feel good, so he had no intention of dragging out the fight.
Not long after he left, new pursuers arrived. They varied in age, so older and so younger, but without exception, they were all top-tier warriors of this world, and the darkness of night did not affect their ability to fight.
In that world, having so many strong warriors was not a surprising thing. The headache for Zheng Yichen was here: "Are you sure you want to take on together? If so, I can’t promise that everyone will be able to walk away alive."
"We don’t need your hypocritical rcy!" A young man who looked no older than eighteen glared at Zheng Yichen, who had a black spear resting on his shoulder.
So attendees seed more rational: "If there’s really a misunderstanding here, you can leave for now. We can discuss this after the world’s distortion has been resolved."
"Big Brother Wang!!" The young man cried out in protest upon hearing this suggestion.
The man nad Wang placed a hand on the youngster’s head and watched Zheng Yichen, waiting for his response. Whether there was a misunderstanding or not, they’d have to wait for the world’s distortion to be resolved before discussing other matters. That distortion not only caused anomalies in the sky for three days but also brought about so ruptures in space.
Only by completely resolving the anomaly causing the distortion would the world beco safe again. Before this, they had never imagined that what was once considered a natural phenonon would have such a great impact on the entire world.
"I am here to resolve the issue," Zheng Yichen declared his purpose, though it seed no one present believed him.
"That’s sothing we don’t need you to bother with, we are capable of solving it ourselves!"
Zheng Yichen stabbed his black spear into the ground: "Then there’s nothing to discuss."
Whether the local world had the capacity to solve the problem wasn’t clear to Zheng Yichen, nor did he want to take a gamble. If the problem here was resolved, he could just consider it a vacation. But if it wasn’t, wouldn’t he just be waiting to die?
With no trust between them in the beginning, Zheng Yichen also didn’t want the Boundary Breaker hiding here to be amused by their predicant.
Before the man surnad Wang could say anything further, the impetuous youth charged at Zheng Yichen. Narrowing his eyes slightly, Zheng Yichen’s thrust with the black spear was blocked by the young man, but at the cost of his arms becoming bloody and shredded.
The repelled youth stumbled to the ground, staring at Zheng Yichen with a mix of disbelief and intense envy.
Jealous for what... oh right, looking younger than his opponent, but since he was being stared down, Zheng Yichen was not about to be polite. He swung his long spear and a blood dragon swept towards the young man. The others also started to make their moves.
Having ample experience in facing multiple opponents, Zheng Yichen triggered their battle spirit with the Asura Battle Intent and stuck to a simple plan, looking for opportunities to take down one or two enemies. Once his demonic thoughts gauge was filled, he’d unleash a powerful move to clear the field; none of the people here were pushovers.
Everyone was exceptionally capable of fighting, and although Zheng Yichen didn’t understand why the old man who first discovered him didn’t join the battle, it didn’t affect his resolution in dealing with these foes. Just like he said, when there were fewer people, he could ensure their survival while ending the battle.
Now that there were more people, it beca a different situation. Fortunately, everyone was using the Light-type power. Despite the complex and varied ways it was utilized, the essence of the power was the sa. Zheng Yichen’s previously acquired characteristics of the Light power and thermal vision allowed him precise control over the flow of these energies.
He even easily managed to anticipate their attacks. They might have outnumbered him, but they couldn’t hope to land successful strikes on Zheng Yichen. The occasional hits only caused minor injuries, the ratio of lee fighters to ranged fighters among these strong characters was about two to eight.
The young man was one of the lee fighters. His attacks were exceptionally ruthless. After Zheng Yichen shattered a light orb, the young man appeared behind it, his hands clutching densely-packed light spikes, smashing them down towards Zheng Yichen’s head.
With thermal vision activated, Zheng Yichen t the other’s gaze, employing a rare usage of the Asura Battle Intent, dominance through battle spirit... The young man, who was initially smug about his success, suddenly froze mid-air as he locked eyes with Zheng Yichen. It felt as if his head was struck by a heavy blow.
The bright surroundings were replaced by mountains of corpses and seas of blood, a tearing agony causing him to widen his eyes. Looking down, he saw the long spear piercing his abdon, an unwilling expression crossing his face before Zheng Yichen flung him aside, and his previously sturdy body began to wither.
The young man, having been caught by another strong character, saw the catcher press a ball of light into his wound. As the injury began to heal, a bloody power erged, interfering with the recovery process, causing the strong character’s brow to furrow.
Because of the world crisis brought about by the distortion points, famous powerhouses from all over the world had converged here. Even those who normally remained in seclusion couldn’t sit still knowing the world was on the brink of doom; their preference for seclusion hinged on the world being intact.
What was the point of seclusion if the world no longer existed?
They wanted to seclude themselves, not because they had lived long enough.
These powerhouses had coexisted here for a while now, gaining so understanding of each other. The young man was a promising newcor, not even eighteen yet and already at the pinnacle of this world, his future achievents boundless.
Yet, it was this talent that made him particularly arrogant. However, this battle revealed another issue within him.
His intense jealousy caused him to overlook certain facts. The first person to attack Zheng Yichen was also a famous warrior from this world, always active within the military and having access to its resources. His strength ranked in the top eight among those participating in the battle.
Yet he had been swiftly taken down by Zheng Yichen. How could the injured young man possibly defeat Zheng Yichen so easily? His overwhelming jealousy led him to attack Zheng Yichen in quite a risky manner, though his talent ensured the timing of his attacks was spot-on.
But the riskiness was undeniable. Even a risk should not have been taken at this ti; at the very least, wait until Zheng Yichen’s stamina and power had been sowhat depleted before taking such a gamble.
As for why the young man felt such strong jealousy, it could only be because Zheng Yichen appeared even younger, physically. Previous intel ntioned that when Zheng Yichen first appeared, he was only about twelve years old; now, he seed about fifteen.
This transformation was the result of hunting a great number of alien beasts. After reaching this apparent age, there were no more significant changes, leading so to believe that Zheng Yichen’s actual age was about the sa.
The strong character didn’t continue to treat the injured young man. That bloody power was very troubleso, and with ample ti, it could have been slowly removed. But now, with the battle being this fierce, it was better to just keep the young man alive and out of the way, lest Zheng Yichen’s production of casualties alone wears them down...
Having moved the young man, who was not at risk of dying any ti soon, to a distance, the character skilled in healing joined the fight, full of battle spirit.
"...Damn it!" An elder smacked his head as he observed the battle involving Zheng Yichen, "This can’t go on, or there will be big trouble!"
An onlooker sees more of the ga. At first, he thought the fight was quite normal, with both sides performing as expected, but as ti passed, he started noticing sothing unusual—their side seed too fervent about this fight.
So much so that their coordination beca a ss. They appeared full of battle intent, causing plenty of harm to Zheng Yichen, but it was all ineffective. Zheng Yichen would quickly recover from any injuries, drawing blood from those he wounded to compensate for his losses.
At this rate, Zheng Yichen wiping them all out was just a matter of ti, especially since he had yet to use any substantial area attack.
