The next day, at Ahn Qi’s ho, this short-haired woman was simply dressed in casual ho attire. Inviting Zheng Yichen over clearly wasn’t for a casual chat; there was another matter she wanted to discuss.
About a plan...
"A God-making plan? Are you getting a bit too ambitious?" Zheng Yichen asked as he looked at a proposal. It was only a ’catalogue,’ but it involved the Ahn family’s ambition.
"This is just a part of it," Ahn Qi shook her head. She had seriously considered pulling Zheng Yichen in on this. So things, if invested in early, could lead to great dividends. Zheng Yichen had already shown imnse potential.
Waiting too long could hinder deepening the cooperation.
"A part of it..." Zheng Yichen continued to read, his eyes twitching slightly, "Ascension too?"
He was aware of the general situation and couldn’t help but comnt on the Ahn family’s great ambition. And yet, he had seen greater. Compared to the Boundary Breakers and the havoc wrought by the Devouring Faction in the Great World, the Ahn family’s sches seed minor.
Besides, the Ahn family wasn’t doing anything outrageous. They simply wanted to use research and other forms of developnt to advance as a clan, to ascend and secure a foothold in a higher realm, and to beco a dominant family in that world.
Then, everyone in the family would enjoy the conveniences of that higher environnt: longevity, power, and so on, it would all be theirs.
In Hazy City, they were proceeding thodically with research, developnt, and accumulation. In that aspect, they were definitely not villains.
The God-making plan was necessary for the Ahn family to secure their footing. Gods indeed exist; it’s just hard for beings like that to appear in places like Hazy City unless they co from higher realms, although none have been encountered so far.
The information brought by the fire dragon provided ample evidence of the existence of gods.
Therefore, this God-making plan was quite important. Even if it couldn’t create a real god, as long as the Ahn family could secure a solid core of power, it would be sufficient.
With this, they could at least secure a strong footing in a Level 5 environnt. Of course, while securing their position, they would also prioritize world environnts similar to Hazy City.
This part of the plan was not shared with Zheng Yichen in the proposal from Ahn Qi. Letting Zheng Yichen know this didn’t matter, after all, there are so many worlds, and it’s unlikely they would have any actual conflicts in the future. She wasn’t foolish enough to create conflicts with Zheng Yichen.
As for other mbers of the Ahn family, if they were not smart enough... relations among siblings aren’t always harmonious.
After all, so people are not smart enough and blatantly drag her down with their actions. Why would she foolishly follow along?
The Ahn family’s long-term plan, how should it be described? Zheng Yichen personally thought it was quite an idea. If he were a regular person, perhaps he might have been tempted. Of course, a regular person wouldn’t have access to such matters.
Currently, he was working for Dusk. Now that Ahn Qi had divulged a part of the Ahn family’s long-term plan, she clearly wanted to pull him in or deepen their cooperation. But what could these bring to Zheng Yichen?
In the long run, it could indeed offer many conveniences. Not to ntion, just in the world of Hazy City, because of that channel, it would be very easy for the two witches in his family to engage in ’scientific research,’ gaining access to what many ordinary people could not.
Without rapid progress, they wouldn’t have managed to create items like the cat spirit cloak, especially Eileena. After accessing the knowledge brought by the fire dragon, she had already started studying curses alongside necromantic skill...
Katrina, on the other hand, had no noticeable changes, continuing to strengthen her study and enhancent of Blessing Magic and refuge magic – the two witches, one dark and one light.
It was just that Zheng Yichen’s pace was a bit fast, and they hadn’t yet reached their full potential. After all, it had been less than half a year since they started to transform.
And magic, that kind of power, can’t be mastered casually. Even so, the things they had created were of considerable use.
Particularly after knowing the problems Zheng Yichen recently faced, Eileena planned to create a special Curse artifact... A chain backlash curse that would connect Zheng Yichen with so enemies, sharing the damage inflicted to each other.
Seeing how Zheng Yichen would be affected, but they had the White Witch on their side. With a single refuge magic protection, she could unilaterally sever the curse’s effect, turning it into a one-way affliction. If Zheng Yichen took a hit, the attacker would suffer the backlash, whereas if he attacked, any curse damage shared back to him because of the attacker’s curse would be blocked by the refuge magic.
Involving Zheng Yichen was also considering his ’Divinity,’ which could additionally amplify the curse’s impact.
The direction of the witches’ research largely revolved around compensating for any issues Zheng Yichen faced, it was just that ti was too short.
Given ten or eight years, they would have everything. Their ho world was previously low-level, where it was hard for any special power to manifest, and to be a witch was to be a genius.
The purchasing channels provided by the Ahn family, along with so of their research channel resources, were indispensable. Zheng Yichen had not made much use of these, but he certainly enjoyed the convenience they offered; the motorcycle he used was one such benefit.
Once they achieve results in the research of interference devices, different from those in Chiang Wei’s world, Zheng Yichen would be able to benefit from them accordingly.
Knowing about the Ahn family’s "Ascension Project", Zheng Yichen would, in the future, be able to enjoy the benefits that ca with it. Even if further collaboration wasn’t possible, getting the research results from the Ascension Project would suffice.
He personally did not need it, but those he knew did.
Katrina wanted to beco a Dusk rcenary, right? The research findings would be very useful for that, and if the Ahn family really did ascend, wouldn’t they leave a lot behind?
"Let be straightforward, the difficulty of completing this plan is very high," he said.
"That is why we need collaborators like you. In fact, the experintal subject you dealt with before was already part of the plan. Although it failed, the research did achieve so breakthroughs."
"What do you need? More technological knowledge or materials from other extraordinary creatures?"
"We need both," Ahn Qi replied. Technological knowledge was vital; cutting-edge technological results could also be used in high-stakes environnts. As for interference devices, so finished products already existed.
They played a significant role in several operations. As for biological materials, the blood samples Zheng Yichen brought back indeed held much research potential, though that was sothing Ahn Ke had to pay attention to.
The main obstacle the Ahn family faced was the exploration ti. Each world linked to an Alien Phenonon allowed for less than half a day’s worth of exploration, and what could be gathered during that ti was purely reliant on luck; there wasn’t enough ti to properly collect high-end things.
High-end items were only occasionally acquired.
Especially when encountering worlds with high environntal levels, straightforward business dealings risked exploitation. Just like the problem Zheng Yichen faced during their operation together, where the other party was all smiles but turned around and plotted the mont his back was turned.
If there were enough ti, they could arrange for people to slowly integrate into the exploration, then seize the right opportunity to make a big score and leave. After all, could the other party even chase after them?
Should they manage to pursue into the environnt of Hazy City, they would face a barrage from long spears and short cannons, demonstrating what cruelty ant.
With Zheng Yichen, things were different. In those high-stakes environnts worth focusing on, Zheng Yichen could simply be sent to assist. Even after being left in an Alien Phenonon world, he was able to return.
This would allow him to bypass restrictions regarding ti. Ahn Qi had long wanted to do this, only previously there weren’t many opportunities for interactive collaboration, and the trust between them wasn’t so high. Now, however, she had examined the vial of blood Zheng Yichen had given her before.
What she gave to Ahn Ke wasn’t all of it; she kept a portion for herself. Although her research capabilities weren’t as formidable as her sister Ahn Ke, she was able to co up with sothing nonetheless.
She discovered that the blood contained a very unique power; just a bit of it could cause animals or extraordinary creatures to crystallize. While the crystallized animals were affected by that power, the crystals themselves possessed imnse energy.
It was like turning stone to gold; the creatures that were crystallized shifted from being re stones to valuable gold, capable of generating greater worth. A chunk knocked off for the red dragon from the high-stakes world to examine, and the red dragon concurred that it could serve as a magic crystal in their own world.
And the quality wasn’t low at all.
Though it wasn’t possible to crystalize indefinitely, the value of that single vial of blood had been proven. Even such simple usage could yield a large amount of ’high-energy crystals.’
Even though the energy in the blood was gradually dissipating, before it completely vanished, even if no substantive breakthroughs in research were achieved, it could still be turned into a resource that could be preserved for a long ti.
The power contained within the blood would dissipate, but the ’creature crystals’ affected by the blood would not degrade over ti, making them a preservable resource; however, this transformation was irreversible.
Just a small amount of blood was enough to convert experintal animals into high-energy creature crystals. This made it evident how formidable or special a creature with such blood must be.
And how powerful would Zheng Yichen be in high-stakes environnts, if he had access to such blood? She even suspected whether Zheng Yichen might have held back during his battle with the powerful opponent...
If they could thoroughly research this blood, then the Ahn family’s subsequent plans could advance even further. Putting other things aside, a creature with such blood must be a top-notch presence in terms of special powers. Even if it was impossible to fully recreate such a being through blood research.
Being able to reproduce even ten or one percent would be enough.
