After trying many thods, Zheng Yichen also took the opportunity to research other techniques while consuming those light bands. The combat skills learned from that world of strength Level 4 were not suitable for this situation; those skills were almost purely focused on the physical body.

They did not involve any special powers, so using that kind of explosive thod also didn’t enhance the attacks on this kind of energy.

At most, it would just add an additional energy attack on top of the original physical attack, similar in strength to the black spear thrown by Zheng Yichen.

However, so moves that required Inner Strength could be of so use.

Blood Sacrifice Burst was not entirely suitable, as this move required transforming Life Force into a kind of destructive power, and Sky Pillar’s energy was not Life Force. However, Zheng Yichen could use so aspects of it, such as compressing and bursting this type of energy with greater intensity.

If he could use Demonic Abyss Seven Kills, Zheng Yichen estimated he could achieve a striking effect tens of tis greater than his current one, even attempting to pierce the Sky Pillar with a single thrust. But the conditions for this move were too strict; even if he drove himself mad, he couldn’t fulfill the conditions necessary for its release.

"Partial Blood Sacrifice Burst, and so other thods... I’ll try out their effects!"

"It’s better not to try like that; the makeshift thods carry great side effects," Lilith said to Zheng Yichen. As an artificial intelligence, she didn’t understand martial arts, but she had records about the human body in her database. After a less-than-perfect simulation of energy circulation manipulation, she could confirm that the thods Zheng Yichen forcibly adopted were very harmful.

Even when the simulation enhanced the human body’s durability, the results were quite bad.

"It’s not like I want to live anyway."

"But your arm will suffer serious damage."

"That’s okay, I’ll recover quickly." Zheng Yichen, having left the bunker, charged towards the Sky Pillar. This ti, his black spear didn’t turn into a brilliant light from the massive amount of energy injected, but only when it neared the Sky Pillar did the compressed accumulated power burst forth.

The tip of the black spear held a dazzling point of light, and the cost of condensing this single point of light was Zheng Yichen’s arm being torn apart.

The resulting attack further expanded the cracks on the Sky Pillar, even producing audible crackling sounds of sothing splitting. Zheng Yichen saw a small portion of the light bands start to fade and "wither."

The Sky Pillar, where it was struck, now had a significant indentation, with cracks spreading out over a hundred ters.

"Phew~ is this thing more fragile than I thought?" After attacking, Zheng Yichen imdiately ran back inside the bunker; he didn’t know when the nuclear bomb would fall.

"The Sky Pillar has been damaged; it might be the work of the Dusk rcenaries."

A man said as he looked at the Sky Pillar piercing the clouds. From their side, the Sky Pillar was erupting from the ground, surrounded by various magic array formations. A huge magic array covered a radius of ten kiloters.

Within the magic array, one could see so technological devices and the like.

Those devices surrounded the Sky Pillar, emitting thin beams of light, which spiraled around the Sky Pillar like vines.

Now, it was clearly visible that part of the beams had lost their glow and turned a grayish-white color.

"Are there still Dusk rcenaries in that world?" Another person at the scene said. The outco of the world they had invaded was almost certain. Under the attack of nuclear weapons, many Dusk rcenaries and their own n had died.

The decision of that world, although a bit crazy, did indeed have so effect. It was just too late; if the Sky Pillar had not fully rooted yet, it might have been sowhat useful. Now that it had taken root, nuclear weapons were of no use. The energy from the explosion would just beco part of the Sky Pillar.

Moreover, the Dusk rcenaries weren’t suckers; willingly helping out, only to be blown up by the indigenous population, the remaining Dusk rcenaries wouldn’t be eager to risk their lives. So of the rcenaries who had nearly died might even wish for this world to hurry up and be done for.

Coming to help only to be backstabbed, no one can tolerate that!

As for their own people who died, so could still be brought back. They had ways to resurrect on their side; however, so died too cleanly and couldn’t be brought back.

But being able to resurrect so still avoided total losses.

"It could also be a Proxy Agent; normally, Dusk rcenaries don’t have the ability to destroy the Sky Pillar. Also, the environntal conditions of that world don’t support the Dusk rcenaries destroying the Sky Pillar."

The Sky Pillar has a very strong absorption ability, especially in terms of energy contact. Energy attacks falling on it were like delivering food; only sufficiently strong physical attacks could impact the Sky Pillar to a certain extent. But that world no longer had the conditions to produce such strikes.

The attack of the Dusk rcenaries? To reach that condition, one would have to be in a higher level environnt.

"Proxy Agent? Even a Proxy Agent shouldn’t be capable of damaging a ford Sky Pillar, right? Let’s investigate first and avoid any conflicts with that Proxy Agent."

On Zheng Yichen’s end, he continued to treat the Sky Pillar as a training dummy, consuming food when injured, and while eating, he nibbled on the light bands to accumulate enough energy for a powerful assault on the Sky Pillar.

During another assault, Zheng Yichen looked toward the sky with so confusion. His eyes had undergone so changes after destroying that heart—he could now see through illusions. Although his ability fell short of theoretical heights, he could still see through many anomalies.

This included changes in the sky; he noticed a light mbrane gliding down the Sky Pillar, sliding like an elevator. To him, the mbrane appeared semi-transparent, and he could clearly see the people inside.

It seed they were observing him.

With that realization, the black spear in Zheng Yichen’s hands burst forth with intense light, the winds swirling around it brightened, and he hurled the spear towards them.

"Run for it!!" Upon seeing Zheng Yichen’s attack, soone inside the light mbrane scread in terror. The mbrane clinging to the Sky Pillar shot up rapidly, but it was still too slow against the violent storm-encased long spear, which pinned the mbrane, tearing apart both the light mbrane and the people within.

The energy ripped from the Sky Pillar was less powerful when used against the pillar itself, but the output was considerably different when targeted elsewhere.

Zheng Yichen noticed that after the intense light explosion, the scattered energy was swept back up to the Sky Pillar and beca part of it anew.

"Is this thing an elevator?" Zheng Yichen stared at the spherical light mbrane that had disappeared and pondered whether he could use the Sky Pillar to take a look at the other end. Clearly, those people had realized their device was damaged and had co to survey the situation.

"What? All dead??" A blond man’s eyes widened in shock as he glanced toward the Sky Pillar, "How is that possible? How could they die under the protection of the Sky Pillar? And not even have the chance to send a ssage?"

He was well aware of the protection the scouts received when they approached the Sky Pillar, and with the Sky Pillar’s cover, they were invisible and hard to detect.

"Use surveillance drones," suggested another man. "Considering the current situation, it’s highly probable that a Proxy Agent is involved. There’s no need to keep sending personnel."

Continuing to dispatch scouts would be futile; surveillance drones were far more effective.

Zheng Yichen soon spotted several large, unmanned drone-like devices descending along the Sky Pillar but also noticed other things. Without a second word, he ran into the bunker.

Then, those surveillance drones were rendered useless in the blast of a nuclear explosion.

Zheng Yichen, inside the bunker, felt the intense vibrations but was unfazed. His bunker was dug deeply, and the nuclear detonations were airbursts, so avoiding the primary shockwave was sufficient.

"Continue the deploynt of surveillance drones!" the blond man monitoring the Sky Pillar’s status said angrily. It was unfortunate that the people sent over had been killed, but for the drones to be destroyed by a nuclear explosion... that was just bad luck!

The reason this place was empty was that the indigenous forces of that world were constantly tossing up mushroom clouds. While the environnt around the Sky Pillar was harsh, preventing life from thriving nearby, including humans, and that world’s technology was not advanced enough, such weapons were simple and brutally effective.

If even one out of ten could make it through, it was a threat. Though not a threat to the Sky Pillar itself, it could threaten personnel active around it.

His plan was simple: confirm the identity and condition of the Proxy Agent and see if he could be eliminated. If he could be taken care of, then they would act; if not, they would resort to another thod.

Just run away!

After all, the Sky Pillar had already extracted sufficient resources from that world. Although it had yet to reach peak harvest, the state of that world was relatively stable. Once it was depleted to a certain extent, the world’s resource core would be revealed and whisked away by the Sky Pillar like a claw machine claiming a prize.

They were still in the skinning stage, but the profits already surpassed expectations. Giving up wouldn’t be too much of a loss; they would simply look for another suitable world to continue their exploitation. Anomalies like this happened yearly, so the loss was acceptable.

Once the world’s resource core was drained, the world wouldn’t imdiately be destroyed but would first beco desolate. As the Holy Spirit perished, the entire world would decay and collapse completely.

The newly deployed surveillance drones hadn’t encountered nuclear explosions as they hovered over the piece of normal land surrounding the Sky Pillar, scouting for any information they could gather.

Then, an unexpected storm appeared and destroyed those drones. As new drones were deployed, Zheng Yichen had already unleashed a new attack, further expanding the cracks on the Sky Pillar.

After another fruitless effort, the blond man slamd his fist on the table in anger. He wanted blood, but the thought of the enemy breaching the protection provided by the Sky Pillar cooled his rage, prompting him to switch to a different plan.

Zheng Yichen saw the new wave of surveillance drones, each hung on the Sky Pillar and cloaked in that sa invisible mbrane. They were scattered and for that reason, he didn’t target the drones anymore, instead continuing his assault on the Sky Pillar.
