"This place really has a nice feel to it," Chiang Wei said as she looked around the Dusk Cathedral, showing an expression of enjoynt. "I’ll probably co often if I have the ti."
"That’s actually quite good, wait for a mont," Zheng Yichen said as Chiang Wei watched him with so confusion. He found Prioress Tia, who was holding a small notebook for records: "A total of 10 rit points."
"Ah? Even more this ti?"
"Because you’ve dealt with a lot of Boundary Breakers this ti," Tia explained.
Zheng Yichen thought about the Boundary Breakers he had killed and the compressed Alien Phenonon he’d dealt with: "Does that an those Boundary Breakers didn’t even make it to a one-to-one ratio for rit points?"
"They’re not that strong for you."
"But they did give quite a bit of trouble."
Tia did not deny this: "That’s your own problem. Any other questions? Do you want to go back?"
Zheng Yichen shook his head: "No rush for now. Do you know what that Alien Phenonon creature I contended with was?"
The nun was unperturbed: "There’s no need for unnecessary probing. If you want to ask, I can tell you directly. Since you’ve seen that heart, Dusk has it on record. You can consider that heart a product of an Artificial God."
"Similar to a Supre Demon kind of entity."
"Yes, if it continues to grow spontaneously, it can reach that level, and the strength of a grown Artificial God depends on the environnt it’s in."
Zheng Yichen couldn’t help but click his tongue, thinking about those giant heart tentacles. Would those tentacles eventually grow into a body? And everything he had seen was recorded by Dusk: "So, am I considered a God-slayer now?"
"Do you want to take pride in that?"
He imdiately shook his head. It was just a motionless heart, nothing to be proud of. What he was interested in was what the heart could bring to him. For now, it seed to be a more robust heart performance and a stronger body coefficient.
If, after he had obtained the Supre Demon Blood, his body attribute’s Performance Coefficient went from the human standard of 1 to 1.3, now it had beco 1.8 with a direct 2.0 Performance Coefficient in physical fitness.
Compared to the even higher coefficients of a fire dragon, there was a big gap, but he was human, after all. Concentration is the essence.
Now, if he fought with a fire dragon in Hazy City, he could really hamr it to death.
"Speaking of which, am I still considered human? Oh right, I got hurt earlier, give a vitality check," he added.
"Co with ," Tia led Zheng Yichen away.
Chiang Wei, who had been keeping an eye on Zheng Yichen, widened her eyes, then huffed and sat down at a long table, opening the computer she carried with her.
In the infirmary, Zheng Yichen took off his shirt, and Tia, with her usual expression, checked his physical condition: "There’s no problem at all. If you’re not reassured, I can give you two vitamin pills."
"...That won’t be necessary. What is that Red Star Rock?"
"You can think of it as a kind of high-energy mineral. It affects people because the human bodies in this world aren’t strong enough," Tia didn’t explain much, and Zheng Yichen did not continue to ask questions. He was relieved after confirming there were no issues with his body.
As he dressed, he asked another question: "Am I still considered a human now?"
"It’s the sa as before. You’re not a normal person, but whether you’re a human depends on your own perspective," Tia said as she opened the door to the infirmary. "If you consider yourself human and do human things, then you are human. It doesn’t matter if others don’t acknowledge you, as long as it doesn’t affect you."
"Haha, if I put it that way, as long as I’m powerful enough, they’d be delighted to consider human," laughed Zheng Yichen.
Seeing Zheng Yichen return, Chiang Wei asked curiously, "Is that nun your contact person?"
"What contact person? She’s my boss," Zheng Yichen sat down beside her and glanced at the page Chiang Wei was browsing. It wasn’t any kind of hacking into soone’s fake system, just a normal computer technology discussion forum. He could recognize the individual characters, but their combination was beyond him.
"Your boss? That doesn’t seem very likely. By the way, aren’t you really worried about this place being under investigation and surveillance all the ti?" Chiang Wei asked after a while.
"Not worried. If sothing directly involves this place, the nun will make a move." He had seen the state of the Dusk Territory in the apocalypse, especially how different it was from the Great World filled with Demon Flowers.
"How powerful are they?"
"I don’t know," Zheng Yichen smiled at her. "There’s sothing I need to talk to you about. Whether you agree or not is up to you."
"Oh? Let’s hear it," Chiang Wei said, interested.
"I have a storage place here. I can give you access to it. In the future, we can use it for so cross-dinsional interaction, exchange so items, and so on."
"Can it really be done this way? You’re not planning to just reach out to directly through this thod whenever you run into so trouble, are you?" Chiang Wei realized what Zheng Yichen was thinking.
"Of course, but I’m not going to let you do all that for nothing. If I co across so high-tech worlds, I’ll send stuff over to you through the storage facility, including local specialties from other worlds."
Her eyes lit up, "I can’t think of any reason to refuse! Your life is really enviable... Hey, why are you rolling your eyes at ?"
"Envy all you want, but I won’t go into the dangers involved."
Chiang Wei said with a smile, "I know it’s dangerous, that’s why I’m envious. After all, my skills are just in computer and chanical technology."
"Enough of that, with proper training, you too could have a great body... I’m leaving in a bit."
"Then goodbye." Chiang Wei’s face showed a hint of reluctance, "Honestly, I’m kind of sad to say goodbye."
"Ha, it’s not like we won’t see each other again—you can send photos through the storage facility."
Previously, he had thirteen rit points, but now he had set up an additional storage facility, and with what he had received, he had twenty-two rit points in total. However, he hadn’t yet decided what to do with these points, although a sum less than a hundred was already considered a very significant wealth amongst the Dusk rcenaries.
These rit points could get them a full set of gear made entirely for themselves, or even use so type of material to change their physical constitution. Otherwise, why would Zheng Yichen feel like the Dusk Territory is like the Main God Space?
It’s just that compared to those places, this one seems a lot more ’primitive’.
Zheng Yichen left, and inside the Dusk Cathedral, Chiang Wei stared blankly at her computer. Over two hours later, an encrypted email ca through, which she opened to find the unsurprising draft of a ’World Protection Protocol’, with an invitation attached below...
But she knew that the invitation was just a formality; the decision had been made long ago.
Once she knew about the existence of the Boundary Breakers in the Great World, it was a done deal, and the research on the Alien Phenonon creatures wouldn’t be left behind, either.
Even if the Alien Phenonon creatures could only exist briefly.
This developnt made Chiang Wei think of a story Zheng Yichen had told her, about when he first encountered an Alien Phenonon creature. He had carelessly co into contact with it and t a... well, a dog-headed person. And it turned out that side had a deep understanding of visitors from the Alien Phenonon and even had arrangents prepared in advance, along with immigration services.
Chiang Wei thought this might be sothing to reference, and that maybe their side would develop similar services once they had the conditions in place.
After encrypting the email further, she searched for so information. Alien Phenonon creatures were not common in their world, but their world was technologically advanced and ticulously observed the globe. Every year, they were able to detect the presence of a few Alien Phenonon creatures.
In a good year, there might be more than a dozen; in a slow year, just a few. Most appearances of the Alien Phenonon were in sparsely populated areas—if it weren’t for advanced satellites, these occurrences would likely be even less docunted.
"Right!" Rembering sothing, Chiang Wei approached a Dusk nun, "Hello, I’d like to learn about Dusk."
She was very straightforward because Zheng Yichen had told her that Dusk wasn’t that complicated. There were no demands here for confidentiality about various types of information; it was just that if soone spoke carelessly, they had to take responsibility for it. External factors didn’t affect Dusk.
Even if the local Dusk Cathedral were to be sealed off, there were countless worlds with Dusk Cathedrals; the absence of one such place—or the addition of another—would hardly make a difference. Doing otherwise would seem... foolish?
"You’re not suitable," a Dusk nun said after taking a look at Chiang Wei, speaking very directly.
"Eh? I’m pretty good at everything other than combat, aren’t I?"
The Dusk nun shook her head, "You lack sufficient adaptability."
"So, you’re saying that those with enough adaptability could do it?"
"Of course not. But they can choose to beco Dusk rcenaries and get whatever they want to have."
Chiang Wei pouted; they already knew this information. The Boundary Breakers’ minds contained a lot of such data, and they also knew about the unique aspects of the Dusk Cathedral. Actually, the Boundary Breakers envied the Dusk rcenaries quite a bit—provided you have enough rit points, you could have anything you desired.
But now, she couldn’t even et that threshold.
What exactly is Dusk?
With that thought in mind, she went to the storage facility that Zheng Yichen had authorized for her. Upon opening the locker, she saw so items inside, including so tea leaves accompanied by a note, "Can enhance human constitution? They haven’t been genetically modified, have they?"
Muttering to herself, she then checked the usage amount. With her current constitution, she figured using just one or two leaves at a ti would do; any more than that, and her body might not take it well.
She picked up the small pack of tea leaves and left a note that read ’Thank you’ inside the empty locker. She had made up her mind: she would buy a house as soon as she got back, one as close to the Dusk Cathedral as possible!
Not to ntion that she could now communicate with Zheng Yichen across dinsions through the storage locker—just being in this environnt and atmosphere made her feel comfortable.
And as for her job, she didn’t need to go anywhere as long as she had internet and a computer. She had also decided to settle Doris there...
