"Investnt?" Katrina looked puzzled at the book in her hand, a product of modern industrial printing technology. However, the content recorded within was not sothing one could find in books bought from the internet.
"Blessing artifacts can bring benefits to collaborators, and she wants more things that are to her advantage,"
Zheng Yichen explained the situation of the latest investnt simply, "It’s just that the items we offer are not determined by the collaborator, but by our own thoughts."
In plain terms, there were no substantial mandatory requirents in Ahn Qi’s investnt demands. As long as Zheng Yichen could co up with sothing useful, it would suffice—even if he didn’t wish to offer them, the items available here could serve as compensation for those blessing artifacts he provided.
As for what benefits those blessing artifacts could secure for Ahn Qi, Zheng Yichen wasn’t concerned with that perspective. Their resources and networks were different, and when he used the blessing artifacts to gain benefits, he had to slowly find the right people while worrying that they might be greedy enough to kill for more.
The situation was different for Ahn Qi. She didn’t need that process at all, just needed to arrange things and check the list, and those with ideas, when facing the Ahn family, only thought about how to get what they wanted by paying less, rather than resorting to killing and plundering.
The sa item could serve different purposes in the hands of different people, and it was okay as long as such blessing artifacts don’t beco flooded in the future. Is there a possibility for them to flood the market?
Even if he were sheared to baldness, it wouldn’t beco common.
"A new system of power I don’t understand has been added," Eileena smiled at Zheng Yichen. In her world, witches also did things for people, but they were ostracized and feared, so such opportunities were rare. Now, Zheng Yichen had transford their work into more substantial knowledge, which was not just good, but very good.
Blessing artifacts are ant to have positive effects, and it seed Zheng Yichen had no intention of easily letting curse artifacts spread.
"You have plenty of ti to learn and master these."
"So in the future, I can join you in your actions, right?" Katrina flipped through a book, looking at the knowledge recorded within, then set it aside and picked up another. The two books were placed closely together, yet the knowledge they contained was vastly different.
Both dealt with special powers, yet the differences in their systems were clear.
Reading too many of these could cause a headache, and actually making good use of this pile of books would require an accurate classification, not based on the properties of special powers but on the closeness of the knowledge.
Those that were similar and had compatibility were grouped together, while those with significant differences were stored separately.
"Then you need to beco very powerful, not soft and weak like you are now,"
"Soft..." Thinking of sothing, Katrina’s face showed a flash of shyness.
The next day, Zheng Yichen carefully took his arm from under the young girl and silently left the bedroom. She had stayed up late with Eileena sorting through the books and slept late. Zheng Yichen wasn’t of much help in understanding that knowledge.
After changing clothes, he left his residence and went to the spot he had arranged to et Ahn Qi the day before, feeling very much in anticipation. He was about to pick up a new car!
The hover car Ahn Qi had promised before could now be produced. Mass production was costly, but he wasn’t within the realm of mass-produced standards.
"Let’s go." Ahn Qi didn’t have the habit of being late. She looked at Zheng Yichen, who was already waiting, and briskly signaled him to get into the car. On the way to the research institute, she slowed down the car speed slightly, not because there were many cars on the road; quite the opposite, there were hardly any cars to be seen today.
The weather was foggy today.
Ahn Qi rarely ventured out alone on such days, but rembering Zheng Yichen’s ability to beat a fire dragon, it didn’t matter. His presence made her feel safer than any bodyguard, even if they encountered a dangerous Alien Phenonon or got swept into one. She wouldn’t be too worried.
And there might even be a chance to visit an Alien Phenonon world with Zheng Yichen, as long as they could make it back.
Ahn Qi, driving the car, reduced the speed to that of an old granny crossing the street. Without needing an explanation from the rich lady, Zheng Yichen could see that they had encountered an Alien Phenonon; going out and bumping into an anomaly seed like quite the protagonist’s fate.
But this was Hazy City, deliberately choosing a foggy day to roam about would make encountering an anomaly not such a low-probability event.
"Shall we have a look?" Ahn Qi glanced at her phone, sent a ssage, then asked Zheng Yichen.
"I didn’t bring any weapons," Zheng Yichen said, looking at his empty hands, indicating he didn’t mind.
The wealthy woman pulled a case from under the seat and handed it to Zheng Yichen, "Can you use this?"
He opened the case and saw that it was filled with firearms naturally; there were handguns ready for imdiate use and rifles that needed assembly. Among them, he even spotted things like grenades—the weaponry this wealthy woman carried was aggressive.
"I’ll stick with my fists," he said, handing the case back to Ahn Qi.
Ahn Qi didn’t say much else, quickly strapped on the handguns from the case, assembled the disassembled rifle parts, and the whole process took less than half a minute. It was clear she practiced regularly, "There are more weapons in the back of the car. Feel free to take what you need."
Out of curiosity and since there was no imdiate ergency, Zheng Yichen checked the weapons in the car. He was beginning to wonder if the wealthy woman had planned to obliterate so place today, taking him to see the car first before splitting up and heading straight to the target location after separating from him.
The day after the deed was done, nothing extra would be reported in the news. At most, there would be a report of a gas leak and an explosion at so location, with no survivors.
"Do you always go out like this?" Zheng Yichen stared at the rocket launcher in the car, not sure what to say—he knew Ahn Qi’s car wouldn’t be checked, but was it really okay to carry these weapons out?
"Not always, only when I go out on foggy days I’d prepare like this."
"Fine..." Carrying extra weapons on foggy days was already a characteristic of Hazy City. With the arsenal Ahn Qi carried, if she happened to accidentally enter an Alien Phenonon, as long as the associated world wasn’t highly environntal, her equipnt would be more than enough to let her blaze her way through.
That is unless it was the Alien Phenonon Zheng Yichen had encountered before, where the other side was also aware of the phenonon and had prepared their defenses.
At first, he thought that was a common situation, but only after learning from Ahn Qi did he realize such scenarios were the minority.
It was the kind of luck you’d hit the jackpot with. As long as the personnel from the world behind the cordoned off area didn’t bear any direct or obvious malice, then the Alien Phenonon hunters on Ahn Qi’s side could negotiate conditions. Everyone knew what an Alien Phenonon entailed, and many unnecessary procedures could be bypassed to get straight to the point.
The other side would supply so of their unique items, and they would offer so ’unique’ items in exchange. In this regard, Ahn Qi always had an advantage; other worlds didn’t have Hazy City’s special environnt. They could co into contact with Alien Phenona, but could they do it like Hazy City?
The Alien Phenonon had only recently erged; the massive and frightening external view hadn’t fully ford. Ahn Qi, dressed now not as a wealthy woman but as a dashing warrior woman with plenty of gear, said, "We have at least half an hour of stable ti."
In all the records of Alien Phenona, there was not a single incident of a phenonon lasting less than half an hour. So, if one encountered a freshly erged phenonon and had the adaptability, one could boldly move around inside for about half an hour.
On the other hand, encountering an existing phenonon whose duration is unknown required caution. Stepping into a phenonon that disappears right away was not highly probable but not impossible either.
Ahn Qi also held sothing akin to a smartphone in her hand. Noticing Zheng Yichen’s attention on it, she explained, "This device is used to determine the stability of the phenonon."
"The existence of an Alien Phenonon causes a certain degree of interference with signals. A stable phenonon interferes less, so we can generally determine the duration of its existence through this level of interference."
She shook the detector in her hand; the screen displayed two fluctuating lines, red and blue, like an ECG chart. However, the overlap between these two fluctuating lines was very high, "According to the feedback here, the phenonon at this location will last no less than four hours."
"As ti goes by, the congruence of the two lines will decrease, indicating that the stability of the phenonon is poor. But considering your situation, you don’t need to worry about that—worst case, you waste a bit of ti."
"Wasting ti is shaful, shall we head in and take a look?" Zheng Yichen saw that Ahn Seven was comfortable in the phenonon, which told him that the wealthy woman’s adaptability wasn’t bad either.
Taking a few steps forward, Zheng Yichen felt as if he passed through sothing. It had been a while since he last encountered an Alien Phenonon; previously, he sought them out to satisfy his personal needs and curiosity. Then, after coming into contact with Dusk, searching for phenona beca more like work.
Working was the ti to slack off... cough cough.
Now, having interacted with a phenonon once more, he could say he’d returned to his original intention. Different from the past, he didn’t feel any pressure crossing into the phenonon this ti.
On the contrary, Ahn Qi showed signs of fatigue. She gave Zheng Yichen a glance and saw him looking normal as ever. She surveyed their new surroundings, which, due to the fog, were hard to see clearly from afar. But based on the ground and the few plants around, this phenonon’s associated world seed normal.
Moreover, the environntal strength here was significantly higher than back in Hazy City. She felt her body becoming more lively and powerful, yet her special abilities were greatly suppressed...
"The intensity level is about 4; it’s a level 1 energy world," Ahn Qi judged imdiately.
Zheng Yichen was aware of this. The equipnt could only detect the stability of the phenonon, while the environnt’s level was determined by feeling, but Ahn Qi’s feeling was backed by a wealth of test data.
