After the rampage, the boost from Burst Mode wasn’t as significant as before; Zheng Yichen felt as if he had hit a ceiling. Hitting this ceiling didn’t an his strength increases were completely halted, but rather that if beforehand a full ten-fold increase in effort yielded a ten-fold increase in strength, now that sa effort might only result in a two-fold increase—or even less.
A ceiling...
This sort of limitation reminded Zheng Yichen of certain human bottlenecks on Earth, like sprinting, where top athletes find it exceedingly difficult to improve after breaking the ten-second barrier in the hundred-ter dash, and where maintaining that level is an achievent in itself.
"You would be considered rely a mid-level warrior in my world," the Fire Dragon grumbled as it recovered, eyeing Zheng Yichen, who had disengaged from combat, with so interest. It pondered making another move, but after receiving a glare from Zheng Yichen, it promptly subdued itself.
"And what would you be considered in this world?" Zheng Yichen glanced at the dragon.
The Fire Dragon Klakauska softly moved its mouth: "A mid-level warrior... with a stronger constitution."
Though loath to admit it, that was indeed his current situation. In his own world, he could slap a whole group of ordinary mid-level warriors to death, but in this world, it seed mid-level warriors stood at the pinnacle. Although he could still rely on his draconic constitution to defeat normal mid-level warriors, the power Zheng Yichen had shown was not that of an ordinary warrior.
It was utterly absurd that this guy could ignore the volcanic fus.
"So what exactly is this world? I was just curious about so strange occurrence, and then I got stuck in this damned place! Can I even return?"
"Return? Forget about it. The randomness of these occurrences is great. If you didn’t return before the corresponding phenonon disappeared, that basically ans you’re stuck here forever," Zheng Yichen said as he continued, seeing the dragon heart’s crestfallen expression: "You might try contacting other occurrences, but the worlds they’re linked to might not be as favorable as this one."
"?" The Fire Dragon looked puzzled at Zheng Yichen.
"aning if you stubbornly find another occurrence and enter a world linked to it, you might end up even weaker."
The Fire Dragon’s face read ’What the heck’, but as an intelligent being, it quickly caught on: "Could it also be possible to beco stronger?"
"Ha, going down could align you more easily with the ceiling, while going up could indeed make you stronger, but that ’stronger’ might just be an average level in that other place," Zheng Yichen replied as he took out his smartphone, which lacked any signal. He gazed at the sky, considering that the world had developed modern technology; it seed odd that there would be no signal in such a place.
A massive head lood closer, and Zheng Yichen barely restrained himself from taking a shot. Seeing Zheng Yichen’s readiness to strike, the Fire Dragon, its scales cracked from the beating, hurriedly backed away, its weight shaking the ground and causing lava to flow from the fissured earth.
Zheng Yichen observed the lava flowing beneath the Fire Dragon’s feet. The dragon’s constitution and strength might have been reduced, but it retained certain innate abilities.
He might be able to beat the dragon after entering Burst Mode, but unlike the dragon, he couldn’t casually dip his feet in lava; if he tried, his feet would surely turn to charcoal.
"What is that?"
"A smartphone, you’ll co to understand it later. Actually, this world is far more fascinating than you might think."
"...I just want to go ho," Fire Dragon Klakauska muttered gloomily. No matter how wonderful the world, it held no appeal for him; he longed for his lair.
In its own world, it had reigned at the top of the food chain, virtually unchallenged, but here, having faced an initial bout of ’provocation’ from weak Mortal Realm humans, it found itself swiftly confronted by soone far mightier, whom it couldn’t defeat—the true tornt.
Half an hour later, a vehicle arrived at Zheng Yichen’s location. It wasn’t just an off-road vehicle, it had special modifications allowing it to traverse complex terrains. Ahn Seven, wearing a gas mask, stepped out from the vehicle.
She surveyed the traces of battle around her and the battered scales on the Fire Dragon, her expression contemplative behind the mask. Her inford personnel had reported that the fight had lasted just a few minutes.
Initially, they had feared Zheng Yichen was killed by the Fire Dragon, but a closer investigation confird that it was Zheng Yichen who had subdued the dragon.
Many scales on the Fire Dragon’s body were cracked from the hamring, with the scales on its head sustaining the most damage.
anwhile, Zheng Yichen appeared rely fatigued with so signs of burns, but no substantial injuries.
"An eye-opener indeed, the hunter’s world now has another top-tier Hunter," Ahn Seven’s voice erged from the mask. Unlike Zheng Yichen, who could ignore the volcanic atmosphere, she could not.
The Ahn family had conducted extensive research into Environntal Adjustnt. This dragon, in its original world, would certainly not be weak. Even weakened in this world, it still possessed the ability to fly and physically crush humans with ease.
A body spanning more than ten ters, no matter how weakened, wouldn’t be reduced to an incapacity to support its own weight. This was also a ’safeguard’ of Environntal Adjustnt—the differences in creatures’ constitutions wouldn’t seem completely equivalent due to the adjustnts.
