The Hellfire had been released by him, and he could still control these flas and even avoid getting hurt by touching his own Hellfire, but once these flas exploded after being highly compressed, he might not be able to keep them under control.

The energy mbrane reappeared, blocking the jellyfish’s influence from up close. In his urgency, Zheng Yichen had a stroke of genius, his foot stomping onto the ground, creating a large pit. In that dangerous mont, he didn’t care about his image—there were no onlookers, anyway. After jumping into the pit, he swung his fists in rapid succession, quickly digging a deep hole.
The jellyfish was large, and while Zheng Yichen could enter the deep pit, it could not imdiately squeeze through, only slowly wriggling its way inward.
The Hellfire compressed within the jellyfish was like a stone, and after Zheng Yichen had dug a pit deep enough, he imdiately changed direction and began tunneling. At that ti, the feedback property he had acquired before proved very useful; he could hold his breath for dozens of minutes at a ti.
Even though intense activity might affect his breath-holding ti, it was enough for him to escape underground in a short period.
As Zheng Yichen rapidly burrowed through the tunnel, a loud noise erupted, and the newly dug tunnel collapsed. Zheng Yichen was buried underground, the vast amount of dirt pressing firmly against his body; the subsequent impact pressure was blocked by his battle suit.
The only thing that bothered Zheng Yichen was that the explosion’s soul-affecting shock almost dispersed the energy mbrane on his body.
Still able to hold his breath, he remained motionless for a few minutes, then moved his body slightly. The soil around him had been compacted by the explosion’s force, making movent very difficult, but Zheng Yichen did not panic.
Having used this thod to evade the jellyfish’s pursuit, he certainly had a way to extricate himself.
Once the threat of the jellyfish was gone, he could completely remove the energy mbrane and use the weakest Soil-earth type power to separate the ground.
After erging from underground, Zheng Yichen dusted off the dirt on his body and looked at the large crater not far away. The crater resembled an impact site, with buildings and other objects around it completely gone—only so lingering Hellfire burning at a distance was visible.
Lacking continued power and fuel, those Hellfires quickly extinguished.
The mist in the area also gradually dissipated with the extinction of the Hellfire, signifying that the Alien Phenonon creature in this place was utterly dead. From the sky’s perspective, this Alien Phenonon Remnant Zone had been obliterated by a third due to the explosion, with the strange new things brought by the jellyfish-induced distortions being utterly eradicated by the blast.
Zheng Yichen touched his face, the wrinkled sensation prompting him to click his tongue. Clearly, the jellyfish was not a normal flesh-and-blood creature; the Life Force expended in killing it had not been replenished through his absorption.
At this mont, Zheng Yichen was ntally vibrant but physically exhausted and hollow.
He was in dire need of replenishing his physical condition.
Dragging his weary body, Zheng Yichen found his motorcycle, with the two dogs cowering beside it as it lay on the ground: "You guys are lucky."
Zheng Yichen said to the terrified dogs. He had deliberately chosen a spot for combat far from where he parked his motorcycle.
However, the blast was so extensive that the shockwave had reached here, toppling the motorcycle. After trying to start it, he found the bike was not badly damaged. Although it had served him well, Zheng Yichen still planned to get a better one once he returned to Hazy City.
As for this one, he would leave it in the garage of the Dusk Cathedral.
He checked the state of those people. Even though the specter jellyfish had been dealt with and the moving Alien Phenonon had disappeared, they showed no signs of awakening. Their souls, sucked out, had not returned with the death of the jellyfish.
"Bad luck for you," Zheng Yichen murmured as he sat beside the four unconscious people, taking out so jerky to eat and restore his energy: "I’ll take you on your final journey tomorrow."
That was the limit of what he could wait. The battle with the specter jellyfish had sapped a great deal of his Life Force, and though he wasn’t in imdiate danger from Withering Disease, he needed to quickly replenish his reserves.
If he left these people alone, they would either beco prey for other post-apocalyptic creatures or there was a slim chance that they would beco zombies due to the virus. Once turned into zombies, they’d have nothing in common with their forr selves.
As expected... he took it upon himself to send them on their way.
Before long, other survivors of the apocalypse gathered here, attracted by the earlier commotion caused by the Alien Phenonon creatures. Having spotted Zheng Yichen, they had been observing the situation; now that the phenonon had dissipated, they were drawn over imdiately.
The sector of the Alien Phenonon Remnant Zone devastated by the explosion intimidated them, yet the areas that remained intact excited them. They saw a wealth of resources amidst the haphazardly crumbled buildings, everything from clothing to other goods. So even found a supermarket.
The post-apocalypse survivors were abuzz, even becoming frantic. They weren’t survivors from a single community; their allegiances varied. As they rushed into the Remnant Zone, disputes beca inevitable. Despite its vastness, everyone wanted more.
So even harbored the idea of eliminating their own kind to monopolize the area.
The sound of gunfire woke the dogs that were sleeping around Zheng Yichen. The dogs watched the source of the noise warily, whimpering anxiously.
"Don’t bother with them," Zheng Yichen said, patting the dogs on the head. He continued to rest, not caring whether the dogs understood him, as the apocalypse was never so kind.
Liu Haipeng and Jiang Fuxing, whom he had t before, seed amiable, but at their core, they were still survivors of the apocalypse.
Those who had lived to this age in the apocalypse could be considered tough individuals, and as for the younger ones? Raised in the post-apocalyptic world, they were not the type to shy away from gunfire.
Their amiability was largely because there were no other competitors at the ti. If there were, Zheng Yichen’s presence ant that they wouldn’t act imdiately due to his strength. Once he left, whether they would continue to compete in a cordial manner would depend on their respective strengths.
If the strengths were similar, mutual fear might lead to dividing the spoils. But if there was a big disparity in strength, still wanting a share of the cake? They would simply be considered part of the decoration on top.
