"Ouch!" Shaking his finger, Zheng Yichen looked at his festering digit slowly returning to normal, gaining a new understanding of the poison’s corrosiveness, but this understanding could only serve as a reference.

In the post-apocalyptic world, his physique was stronger, and the poison might be affected by the post-apocalyptic environnt, its effect not fully demonstrable. He collected all the scattered venom on the ground.

Watching the Alien Phenonon creature rapidly closing in, Zheng Yichen grumbled unwillingly a few tis, then decisively found his car and fled in a cloud of dust. He really wanted to kill the giant serpent, but he couldn’t handle it for the ti being.

Armor-like scales that were extrely tough, secreting potent poison—taking it head-on right now was not a good choice. Better to check out the situation with other Alien Phenonon creatures first.

If the others were easier to deal with, he would tackle those first, leaving the difficult ones for later.

Zheng Yichen made a detour back to the Dusk Cathedral to refuel and write a letter. While on the road, he pondered whether he should find a suitable collaborator in the Old Capital in the future, soone who could provide a steady supply of powerful weapons.

He didn’t necessarily need to reveal his identity to the other party; the key was to cooperate to obtain more powerful weapons. Modern weapons might deal fixed damage, but even weapons with fixed damage could deliver tons of output. If he couldn’t cause effective damage to the giant serpent, it was because his weapons weren’t strong enough.

He would try to find such a partner after returning.

At the next mobile Alien Phenonon creature, when Zheng Yichen arrived, he found the place buzzing with activity. Two groups of post-apocalyptic survivors were in the midst of a fierce firefight, battling ardently, seemingly over the resources scattered in the wake of the Alien Phenonon creature’s passage.

This Alien Phenonon creature was much larger in scale compared to the one with the giant serpent. As for those combatant survivors—

After observing for a while, Zheng Yichen prepared to intervene, not for any reason other than noticing one group of survivors actually carried things like skull totems made from human skeletons.

Clearly, they were up to no good. It wouldn’t matter if such post-apocalyptic survivors died, right?

He took out a grenade, tossed it in his hand, then pulled the pin and hurled it with force. The grenade flew at a high speed and landed inside a car being used as cover. The survivors behind the car stared blankly at the grenade that had suddenly appeared inside, confused as to where it had co from.

Boom—

"Spot on!"

Watching the blown-up car and the shattered skull totem, Zheng Yichen gave himself a thumbs-up. His throw wasn’t that precise, but with his new wind-related abilities, using the wind to lock and correct the trajectory, he couldn’t claim absolute accuracy, but a one-ter radius was feasible.

And the explosion range of a grenade was more than just that.

After biting off another grenade’s pin, he threw it and, no longer concealing his presence, grabbed the spray gun hanging on his motorcycle and charged out.

"Cover him!" The other group of post-apocalyptic survivors, seeing Zheng Yichen charging towards the marauders, imdiately changed their tactics.

The enemy of their enemy was their friend. They were already under great pressure; now that soone had suddenly jumped into the fray to help, how could they refuse? And as to thinking one person was too few? That was unlikely; anyone who could survive alone in the post-apocalyptic world was an expert. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have survived.

Zheng Yichen’s clothes were also very new, signs that were unequivocal proof of a big shot in the post-apocalyptic world.

So there was nothing more to say. Full support it was. Watch the big shot’s show, lest the consequences be even worse if they were caught by the marauders.

Zheng Yichen, racing forward, saw the marauders pulling out so long spears burning with flas, the tips bound with certain materials. When these spears landed, they exploded imdiately.

Besides that, they also threw incendiary bombs and the like. Their combat prowess was quite formidable. However, it seed that there were no human Evolvers among these people.

Catching a flying spear, Zheng Yichen threw it back with greater force. The spear landed on another vehicle and exploded—these makeshift bomb’s explosions were not particularly powerful, far less so than the grenades Zheng Yichen had thrown.

Initially, the marauders had the upper hand, but once Zheng Yichen appeared, their distracted fire led them to a disadvantage. The opposing survivors took the opportunity to eliminate many marauders. The remaining ones howled and attempted to retreat, but their vehicles weren’t as fast as Zheng Yichen’s car.

During the approach, Zheng Yichen had especially targeted their crude motorcycles. Now as the marauders were retreating by car, those attempting to flee on foot were naturally taken care of by the other post-apocalyptic survivors.

After wiping out all the marauders without exception, Zheng Yichen looked at the group of surviving survivors, a combination nearly similar to the team that Liu Haipeng initially led.

They consisted of several elderly and so young people under thirty years old.

"Good afternoon, it seems I’ve arrived just in ti?"

"Thank you very much." A short-haired woman about twenty-five years old stepped out from the group of survivors: "My na is Jiang Fuxing, and I’m the captain of this squad."

"Just call Chang Qing." Zheng Yichen nodded at the short-haired woman, her na involuntarily reminded him of his grandparents’ generation, whose nas often had a grand ring like ’Zhenhua.’

The na of the woman with the short hair seed quite fitting for the apocalypse.

"Can you tell in detail about what you’ve encountered?"

"I’ll explain." Jiang Fuxing nodded and briefly recounted their experiences to Zheng Yichen. They had discovered the anomaly early on, but they weren’t as unlucky as Liu Haipeng’s group; the path of the anomaly hadn’t interfered with their settlent, so they would co here to scavenge for supplies.

When they had co here today, they’d encountered the marauders, and what followed was exactly what Zheng Yichen had witnessed. The marauders had discovered them early on and took advantage of their scattered group searching for resources, launching a surprise attack and forcing them into battle without ti to regroup.

They suffered heavy initial losses, and their disadvantage in fighting personnel made the battle increasingly difficult.

"I understand. No need to rush off yet; the phenonon might disappear later, and there will be a lot of resources inside." Zheng Yichen said to Jiang Fuxing.

The short-haired woman looked at Zheng Yichen with so confusion, then glanced at the slowly moving anomaly in the distance. What lay inside the phenonon was a curiosity to many; they had also pondered what would happen when the phenonon disappeared, as a lot of scattered items could be found in the areas it had passed through. The contents of the phenonon were likely to be even more abundant.

"The phenonon will disappear?"

"If all goes well, it will vanish soon, and then you’ll be more worried about how to carry away the stuff inside," Zheng Yichen chuckled, then restarted his motorcycle and approached the direction of the anomaly.

"Captain, what is that person doing?" After Zheng Yichen left, one of the team mbers approached Jiang Fuxing, asking doubtfully.

Jiang Fuxing shook his head: "I don’t know. First, let’s collect our comrades’ bodies and take them back... Oh, and inform the other teams at the settlent to send so people here to wait and see."

"Wait and see what?"

"The phenonon might disappear."

"Huh?" The team mber, who had been wearing a sorrowful expression, suddenly paused, staring blankly at the churning mist in the distance encompassing a huge wriggling shadow. He couldn’t help shivering at the sight of the anomaly, the unsettling scene within never failing to send chills down his spine, as if so indescribable giant creature might erge at any mont.

But could the phenonon truly disappear? It was said that any living being that entered it would vanish.

Gazing in the direction Zheng Yichen had left, Jiang Fuxing saw the young man who seed about the sa age as her. He had simply asked about the situation here and then decisively took off. From the information he revealed, his goal was the anomaly? And it seed he possessed a way to make the anomaly disappear?

But what good would resolving the anomaly do?

Near the anomaly, after entering, Zheng Yichen’s body trembled slightly: "This is it!"

Inside the phenonon, Zheng Yichen felt every cell in his body roaring; a slight clench of his fist was enough to sense the imnse power in his palm. The intensity level here was high, even higher than in the first anomaly he had encountered.

As for the energy level, it probably matched that of the apocalyptic environnt, but Zheng Yichen felt no distinct change.

What sort of Alien Phenonon creatures could be inside this phenonon?

As before, Zheng Yichen first searched for objects within the phenonon and found many decaying bodies, so wild beasts with their bodies torn open and their innards spilling out, the flesh torn away to a significant extent.

The state of the other bodies was similar, and so were impaled on rough spikes, both male and female. n had been tortured to death while unconscious, won had suffered other mistreatnt.

Though creatures without adaptability would be in a deep coma within the anomaly, likely not feeling any tangible pain upon death, but... seeing this scene, Zheng Yichen sighed softly and waved his fishing rod, cutting down all the stakes.

Hellfire spread out, burning all the corpses. As Zheng Yichen watched the thick black smoke billowing from the eerie green flas, he lost the will to explore further. He pulled out a grenade and threw it into the distance, and the explosion imdiately reverberated.

He then activated his thermal vision, while simultaneously concealing himself. Soon enough, a thermal silhouette with a high heat signature appeared in his vision, a nearly three-ter-tall gorilla standing erect.

The gorilla, facing the burning eerie green flas and the surrounding damaged stakes, swelled its chest with a red-eyed stomp, and bellowed. Approaching the tumultuous green flas, its thick arms raised high, it prepared to smash down—
