Strive to find suitable candidates for the Dusk rcenaries in the shortest ti possible, and then confirm the Proxy Agent.
The goal is clear, but the local authorities are still overwheld in the short term, and so even unearthed so peculiar recent events.
These pertain to aerospace research; so ti ago, the Aerospace Division obtained a piece of information at a very low cost, which significantly accelerated aerospace developnt.
During the full investigation launched by the local authorities, this point initially went unnoticed, but once the Aerospace Division was notified, they discovered certain issues. The data itself was fine, but so paraters and minor details presented problems.
It wasn’t exactly a trap or a scam, but rather issues caused by environntal and material factors—problems that could be corrected through experintal adjustnts. After obtaining the information, there was no way to use it directly; ticulous experintation was absolutely necessary.
If it involves manned missions, conducting rigorous experints isn’t an option—it’s a necessity to avoid endangering lives.
Once the issues had been fixed, there seed to be no further concerns. But now, these minor issues were being revisited, and personnel cooperating from the Aerospace Division proposed a hypothesis.
What if the data isn’t from this world?
It’s true that so parts are universally applicable, but the discrepancies in other areas might not stem from errors in the information. What if the problem lies within this world?
Perhaps in the information’s original world, these issues wouldn’t exist—like certain material requirents where, during local testing, the strength of the materials failed to match the levels described in the data.
If the materials fall short, then reinforcing them becos necessary. Without reinforcent, astronauts would essentially be gambling with their lives.
Materials from this world could simply be weaker, which is why they don’t align with the paraters in the data. anwhile, in the world where the information originated, equivalent materials might be of better quality, enabling direct application without the need for substitutions or reinforcents.
The hypothesis arose because, aside from inconsequential aspects, many tested materials consistently showed variances when compared to the data’s paraters.
So differences were minimal, less than 1%, while others exceeded 5%. Although the individual discrepancies seed small, when compiled together, they beca significant problems.
Overly strong material performance could still be acceptable if it helps achieve optimal results; in fact, using premium materials is preferable as long as the overall demands are t. However, deliberate "shortcuts"? Definitely not acceptable.
You can’t skimp on this aspect.
"Whether it’s truly the case requires additional evidence, but the best course of action is to find the ’suitable candidates.’"
"Alright then, begin the selection process. Start with cities nearby. As for the Virtual World... Take complete control of its remnants and issue an upgrade notice. How is the takeover of the Virtual World’s project base going?"
"It’s fully under control. However, following investigations, it’s been confird that it is only an empty shell... or perhaps an empty but useful shell."
The site stored a large amount of local information—all player-related data. After interrogating certain inford individuals linked to the site, it was confird that the primary reason for storing this locally was to facilitate oversight by the authorities.
Want to trace information? All player data is here, so go ahead. There are no issues whatsoever on the information front.
However, after the incident in the Virtual World, the base’s true nature was exposed—it turned out to be nothing more than a large database disguised as a Virtual World server.
"...Phew, this counts as decent. If the replacent design for the Virtual World proves functional, the turmoil will quickly subside."
The people in the conference room exhaled lightly. Developing an entirely new Virtual World from scratch? That’s impossible in the short term.
But using the design provided in the docuntation? That’s feasible. As for resource consumption? With the current scale of the crisis, the debate about costs is irrelevant.
If social order cannot be maintained, the subsequent losses will be even greater.
And as for the Proxy Agent—they must continue searching, and the Boundary Breakers must absolutely be captured!
Before the Proxy Agent lost contact, they provided a lot of identity information about the Boundary Breakers. The remaining ones—every last one—must be caught, unless they’re hiding sowhere in the wasteland and refusing to co out!
Can’t find the Proxy Agent? Then at least find the Boundary Breakers!
They’ve already captured one, who turned out to be no different from them—aside from being older and slightly more combat-capable. Really, there was nothing special about them.
Wasteland.
Tanshia Firlo lay sluggishly on Zheng Yichen’s back, muttering as she observed the surrounding environnt.
The region was saturated with intense radiation. Life always finds a way, and occasionally mutated plants could be seen, appearing extrely aggressive.
There were also wasteland animals that looked equally dangerous. They were riddled with pus-filled sores and mucus, appearing sickly yet teeming with large amounts of radioactive substances, emitting even more hazardous radiation.
Based on information obtained by Lilith, these animals were extrely unwelco in the wilderness. No one sympathized with these ferocious creatures, as they were essentially deadly walking bombs.
If you couldn’t destroy them from a distance, and they got close, even killing them would result in a deadly explosion as the radiation they stored erupted. Their pustules and arteries seed to flow with nuclear material.
Of course, that’s just a taphor, but it also acknowledges the dangerous nature of these wasteland beasts.
Zheng Yichen encountered plenty of these creatures along the way. However, they were all taken out in advance before they could approach. As for protection, Lilith’s self-generated protective field sufficed.
The field was strong enough to block the wasteland’s radiation. Ordinary people, even with protective gear, wouldn’t be as safe. The longer they stayed, the weaker the protective gear’s effectiveness would beco.
"This is utterly hopeless." Tanshia Firlo gazed at the dark red earth and said sincerely. The color of the land was a result of warti disasters, where the weapons deployed caused radiation far stronger than nuclear weapons.
Otherwise, after decades had passed, the local humans wouldn’t still lack an expanded living environnt. It’s not that they couldn’t expand—it’s that they lacked the capability.
"In your world, if the True Gods waged a full-scale war, would it turn into sothing like this?" Zheng Yichen asked while examining the projected map.
They had arrived near the secret base hiding the Virtual World’s core. Now they were searching for the core that had been blasted apart, but the radiation and interference in the environnt were too severe.
Large-scale searches weren’t feasible; they had no choice but to ticulously comb through the area inch by inch.
"It would likely be even worse, wouldn’t it?" Tanshia Firlo thought for a mont, her uncertain tone switching to confidence: "It would be much worse!"
If the gods of the magical world waged a full-scale war, the chaotic collision of Divine Kingdoms and the rampant explosion of Divine Power would make the environnt far more devastating and harder to recover.
Such a war would also produce nurous God’s Corpses. Once enough gods had perished, those corpses would beco the next source of catastrophe.
Exiled God’s Corpses, due to their imnse presence in reality, would even be pulled back from spatial turbulence.
That wouldn’t rely be a natural disaster—it would be a true extinction-level event. Such calamities wouldn’t even concern Dusk, unless the God’s Corpses threatened to annihilate the world. If that ever happened, Tanshia Firlo recalled Du Gang’s "Extermination Order."
However, sending a group of Proxy Agents to deal with God’s Corpses that had grown on this world would probably be an exhausting ordeal.
Such scenarios are best avoided; if they truly occurred... She thought about it. If such events unfolded, she would rather cling tightly to Zheng Yichen’s advantage—plead with him to take her along to slay the gods.
All they’d need to do is eliminate those gods attempting to provoke full-scale war. Zheng Yichen seed to have quite an affinity for God-slaying.
"Sentient beings, eh? Always so good at courting destruction." Zheng Yichen muttered while looking at the concentric circles on the map, smirking. Another circle wasted effort, it seed.
