The Divine Kingdom began to collapse; cities in the distance started to crumble and decay. Large numbers of God Minions scread as blue streams of light spouted from their seven orifices, converging toward the location where the God of Riddles perished.
A core was ford, and Zheng Yichen could feel the pull of the shattered Godhead in his hand.
"No need to stand on ceremony—" Feeling the pull of the Godhead fragnt growing stronger, Zheng Yichen imdiately leaped forward. With the acceleration provided by the Godhead fragnt, he swiftly approached the light core and stabbed his black spear into it.
The light core trembled violently and began to shrink.
anwhile, Zheng Yichen noticed a sharp increase in so of his attributes—ntal attribute, soul protection bar, and even the blue bar... though his health didn’t increase.
As the decaying Divine Kingdom collapsed entirely upon the destruction of the light core, the decay rate accelerated by more than tenfold. Once it reached a certain extent, the Divine Kingdom turned into ruins and finally stopped. The Divine Power that sustained the Divine Kingdom fell into utter ruin with the death of the God of Riddles.
"What is that?" Tanshia Firlo walked closer.
She saw Lilith’s figure suddenly appear and sway as she sat on Zheng Yichen’s shoulder.
Zheng Yichen being able to take down the God of Riddles in one strike was, of course, due to Lilith’s additional assistance. Once the God of Riddles’ shield was broken, it was no stronger than paper.
"Seems like so sort of resurrection chanism. The power of the light core is strong—if left unchecked, it would have dragged away the shattered Godhead in my hand."
Zheng Yichen tossed the shattered Godhead in his hand. In the Virtual World, this thing was a Divine Artifact. Once used, it could allow the user to directly break through their current level cap and advance to beco a Demigod.
However, breaking through the level cap in the Virtual World resets the level to zero, though the original attributes are retained.
Thinking for a mont, Zheng Yichen directly handed it over to Lilith.
"Thanks, Boss." Holding the pieces of shattered Godhead in her hands, which looked as big as waterlons, Lilith flashed Zheng Yichen a cheerful smile.
The Godhead fragnts in her hands reassembled, and then Lilith’s body grew larger as she swallowed the entire thing in one gulp. A breath of death emanated from her.
That ominous aura quickly dissipated, and Lilith revealed a ’pondering’ expression: "Boss, I’ve obtained higher permissions. We should deal with more gods."
When players obtain a Godhead, they can directly beco Demigods or True Gods. However, becoming a True God requires that certain attributes et the required conditions, whereas Demigods face no such requirents.
Using the Godhead was different for Lilith.
"It actually worked, huh," Zheng Yichen said with so surprise. His original intention was to try it out—using the Godhead would affect his independent divinity. It wasn’t necessary, and moreover, the artifact’s attributes clashed with Tanshia Firlo’s, making it even less worthwhile.
In the world of magic, gods are entities with higher ’permissions’ or a certain kind of divine authority. In the Virtual World, it’s basically the sa principle, right? Given that, handing it over to Lilith might allow her to gain higher permissions non-invasively.
"It worked. While acquiring new permissions, I’ve reduced the difficulty of invading the Virtual World. Although the effect lasts for only a short ti, the efficiency is much higher compared to everyday invasions."
Lilith nodded and said, "But relying on these alone isn’t enough to ddle with the Virtual World’s core. This god was too weak; perhaps contacting Godheads related to creation or annihilation within this world might work."
The Virtual World indeed has Creator God setups...
"Well... that sounds pretty tough."
Zheng Yichen looked up at the Divine Kingdom’s sky. He could exert formidable power here, but it was still not reality. Growing stronger could be seen as recovering his original strength, but such recovery was confined within the rules of the Virtual World.
If he could strip away the ga template and align his abilities directly with the Virtual World’s environnt... maybe, possibly, perhaps... it could work?
Forget it, never mind.
Thinking of sothing, Zheng Yichen reached out and pressed his hand against the ground. The once-solid surface turned into a pile of sand at his touch.
The Earth Devourer could also affect the earth within the Divine Kingdom, though he hadn’t used this thod in combat so far.
"Then let’s deal with more gods," Zheng Yichen said as he glanced at the Godslayer trait, which now had an additional enhancent.
The enhancent was due to True God’s downfall.
Because of the True God’s demise, Zheng Yichen had caught the attention of the gods. Their hostility or admiration would temporarily impact the strength of the Godslayer trait until he ascended to godhood.
Ascend to godhood? Forget it. He might as well take advantage of this enhancent to tackle the next True God.
A faint sound of soil breaking could be heard, and Zheng Yichen looked at the ground. Tiny sprouts of new growth erged from the soil.
"Whoa, the environnt is changing, huh? Is the Divine Realm this dynamic?" Zheng Yichen said, staring in surprise at the plants rapidly growing from the ground.
"Boss, hold on—" Lilith said as streams of dense data flashed through her eyes. After a while, she turned to Zheng Yichen and said, "Boss, you and Tanshia Firlo are influencing the Divine Realm’s surroundings."
"How so?" Zheng Yichen said, intrigued.
"The environnt in the Divine Realm is highly susceptible to changes. With the True God gone, the environnt reverts to its primordial state. But since Boss and Tanshia Firlo both possess divinity, you’re naturally impacting this unclaid terrain. The current environntal shift is centered on life."
"Oh, I see?" Zheng Yichen thought about it; to others, he might seem like a monster of Life Force. Tanshia Firlo had Life Divinity, and in this ownerless part of the Divine Realm, life attributes were indeed plentiful.
