Chapter 252 Is It Shaful To Be A Vampire?
The East Sea tropolis was a coastal city in the age of magic, and it was not as clean as the cities on the continent.
The commoners were fishern, so many fishing boats could be seen.
William and his five companions entered the city and discovered there were muddy pools on the streets. Rotting fish was present everywhere, and the stench was unbearable.
And even though most of the paths were paved with listone, they were very dirty. Any passers-by would step on the rotting fish scattered on the paths.
There were many piers along the coast, while the land facing the continent was lined with majestic walls.
But these walls were not the final defense line.
The East Sea tropolis was developing outward at a rapid pace.
The central location of the city was a steep coastal cliff that reached more than a hundred ters in height. A large majestic castle on the cliff acted as the seat of power.
But the lowlands were in a very bad condition.
The lowlands on both sides of the cliff were inhabited by the poor commoners while the castle was inhabited by the rich and powerful. The beautiful castle was like the Heavens for the Gods...
This was neutral territory.
The city lord of this coastal city had absolute control, and his subordinates enjoyed imnse power.
And the commoners in this territory had a lot of freedom. They were not bound by many legal restrictions.
To the commoners, the Lord was God. His words were the truth.
William and his companions were about to enter the East Sea tropolis.
At the sa ti, Bernard was holding a grand and extravagant banquet in the castle
The castle was a gothic building that gave a soaring feeling.
The interior of the castle was spacious and brightly lit. The walls were filled with beautiful mural paintings that created feelings of reverence and piety.
In the 500 square ters space of the banquet hall, there were only tens of guests. But hundreds of beautiful maids served them.
These maids were young won, and they were showing a lot of skin. They were either serving tea or dancing in the banquet hall.
Occasionally, so of the nobles would suddenly grab a woman and then bite on their necks to draw fresh blood.
But the won acted as if they had not seen anything and continued to do their chores.
The won who were bitten would not die or beco vampires. They would just feel weak due to anemia.
It was because they were the blood slaves of these vampires.
Blood slaves provided fresh blood to the vampires.
For them, it was not a big deal to be bitten.
Instead, if the won struggled and antagonized the vampires, they would definitely be killed.
As blood slaves, these won had been given the freedom to train their battle energy or magic in order to improve the quality of their fresh blood. When they beca older, they might even regain their freedom.
The vampires would give them a huge sum of money for them to start a new life...
A handso man sat at the helm of the banquet table. He looked ruddy like the rest of the people, and his characteristics did not look like that of the low-level vampires.
This very prim and proper looking man was Bernard.
Other than when it was feeding ti, most mbers of the Blood Race were extrely gracious and cordial.
As he was enjoying the banquet, a young lady walked to Bernard and whispered in his ears.
Bernard stood up while holding his wine glass and laughed as he said, “So devil hunters have intruded into our city. They are six Advanced professionals. Which of you gentlen will like to be the bait to capture them?”
“My lord, let do it!”
“No, no, no!” A vampire who was near to Bernard stood up to interrupt. He confidently said, “Let handle this. These six devil hunters seem rather powerful.
“And ever since that incident, I’ve not tasted the blood of Advanced professionals. My lord, please give a chance.”
“Humph!” The first vampire who had volunteered glared at the interrupting vampire. But when he saw that Bernard did not have any objections, he sat down in a fit of anger.
It was important to note.
Even though the East Sea tropolis was the territory of the vampires, they had legions under their command. They could not show their faces in public as the Humans were afraid of them.
They could treat Humans as food, servants, or slaves. But unless it was necessary, they seldom made use of violence to capture the devil hunters.
The reason was that there was a Temple of Light in the East Sea tropolis.
These Temple Knights and the clerics knew about the vampires.
But due to the influence of the Palace of Darkness, the Temple of Light would not divulge their identities.
To the Temple of Light, it was better to have a group of aboveboard vampires rather than the hidden vampires who would kill people and create mayhem.
Hence, as long as the vampires did not create public anger, the Temple of Light would not be bothered.
The Darkness Invasion was a more serious problem than the vampires.
William did not wander around aimlessly in the East Sea tropolis. According to Diablo’s mories, he located an abandoned castle.
It was Diablo’s ho. His clansn were once the confidantes of Bernard. It was a fact that Diablo’s clansn were not vampires.
Alec was the leader of intel in the City of Dawn, and he had already started searching for clues. It was not easy to remove all traces of a clan’s extermination. He would be able to find so subtle clues.
The mission was to find Diablo’s enemy and the killer of his clan.
Since the mission was graded A , the enemy would be on par with William. But, it would definitely not be Bernard.
William and his companions searched the abandoned castle for a long ti, but they did not discover any clues.
William was frustrated.
He did not know if Alec could find any information.
But he was sure.
If they could not find the enemy of Diablo.
Then William would have to investigate the vampires who might know about the truth.
And if William were to do that, Bernard would be infuriated, and the nature of the mission would change.
But William did not expect that even before he acted, the mission difficulty had been changed to S level.
“This is interesting. Did my devil hunter’s identity pique the vampires’ interest? Did our appearance at Diablo’s ho cause the vampires to develop their killing intents?” William frowned and walked out of the castle. A bat was hanging from the tree and looking at William.
William lifted his head and stared at the bat.
Bang!
The ground underneath William exploded, and he hurled his body towards the bat like a shot from a cannon.
The vampire had not expected William to be so unorthodox!
Normally, when the devil hunters detected a bat, they would not recklessly act. They would go back to discuss a plan. They thought that the bat might be a spy sent by the vampires.
This was vastly different from the vampire in novels!!!
The vampire did not have the ti to extend his wings.
William had already grasped the bat.
The vampire who was in bat form tried to transform into a Human and was about to retaliate. But then, William’s left hand that was covered with lightning bolts clasped around his neck like a pincer before William tossed him to the ground.
Boom!
A loud explosion took place, and a huge pit appeared on the ground.
William’s companions rushed out of the dilapidated castle when they heard the commotion.
They saw a vampire with long fangs slowly getting up. Then he was pinned underneath William, who had descended from the sky.
The next mont, William coldly laughed as he grabbed the vampire’s arm before he slamd him to the ground!
Pom, pom, pom...
The vampire had been crushed until he no longer resembled a human. Then William placed his feet on the vampire’s skull as though he would stomp the head into the ground. William asked, “Tell , which vampire destroyed this castle?”
“Who... who are you?” The vampire was the one who wanted to be the bait for the devil hunters at the banquet.
The vampire wanted to call for reinforcents because the abandoned castle was a good spot to kill the devil hunters!
But William had the preemptive strike!
He did not give any chances to the vampire.
“I’m asking you a question. I’m not letting you ask any questions. Do you understand?” William squinted, and stomped on the vampire’s head. He almost broke the skull.
The vampire was also an Advanced professional.
He had the Grandmaster bloodline, but his combat power was far inferior to William.
The vampire did not yield. He struggled to stand up. After so many years, he had not endured such an insult. “Let go. I’ll send you out of the city. Otherwise, you’ll be killed.”
“Oh! Do you think I’m afraid of Bernard? Or the vampires? I want you to tell , who killed the people in this castle?” William stomped on the vampire’s head again.
At this instance, the vampire transford into a small bat in a bid to escape.
But there were many BOSSES around, how could he escape?
Diablo clenched his fist, and nurous needles appeared from the ground. They pierced through the bat’s body that beca motionless in the air.
The vampire changed back into human form. His body was full of needle holes, and even his butthole had been pierced...
The vampire was about to scream in pain.
William slapped the vampire, and a huge piece of flesh dropped from his face.
William was not bothered with the bloody face. He grasped the vampire’s hair to lift his head so that William could gaze into his eyes. “Tell the truth, and I’ll let you live. Otherwise, I’ll teach you what it ans to be brutal.”
Brutal?
What could be more brutal than the Blood Race?
The vampire wanted to rebuke.
But William’s words made the heart of the vampire sink!
“Do you know what the traditional vampire RBQ is? I have a group of muscular n. Do you believe that they can not ruin you?”
“Yes, I’ll tell you,” the dazed vampire said. Was that not an intimidation technique used against the Elves? Why was it being used against the Blood Race?
The vampire thought, “Can’t you be more humane? We’re vampires. Please show us so respect!”
