Chapter 194: New Dinsion Tunnel

William left the fortune-telling hut and went towards his next destination, the blacksmith workshops.
When he reached there, he noticed that his Advanced equipnt was in the process of being forged.
Forging Epic-level equipnt was a slow process. The higher the quality of the equipnt, the slower the speed of forging.
Of course, it would not take a few months. Six and seven days would suffice.
He did not stay in the underground tunnel to check on the blacksmith workshops. He was going to survey the fortification works.
Legolas did not have ti to train the legions, as he was stationed in the dark tunnels to supervise the fortifications. When he noticed William, he patted the chest with his right hand as a show of respect.
The underground tunnels of the City of Dawn were complex and nurous!
The reason was simple.
Since William started developing the city, he had been directing the workers to dig deeper.
The dense network of underground tunnels was like a new Underworld, and it was fortified by enchantnt.
William had three goals.
The first goal was to dig two wide tunnels underneath the city, using the cliff body as a foundation. Two 20-ters wide magical city gates would be built at the base of the cliff!
The enchanted city gates would not involve a push chanism. Instead, the gates were to be pulled up using tal chains.
These gates had a great advantage. As long as they were tough, it was impervious to ramming. William did not have to worry that the gates would be lifted open as the opening chanism was controlled from the inside.
Even if sohow the gates were being shattered...
William could simply destroy the tunnels by using explosions.
He would bury his enemies alive...
The second goal was to make full use of the 80-ter tall cliff. Legolas organized a group of people to construct arrow, pike, and cannon slots.
Whether it was the Darkness invasion or attacks from other countries, all of them would be subjected to projectile attacks.
The enemy could try to scale the cliff, but they would be subjected to pike attacks from hidden holes.
The surrounding areas of the arrow, pike, and cannon slots were fortified with enchantnt to protect against the enemy’s attacks.
The third goal was to plant large amounts of the Devil’s Vines.
“Be careful. Don’t put your hands in there.” An Elf warned as he saw a foolish person who was going to carry the cultivation trough containing the Devil’s Vines.
Which one of the three fortification works was the most dangerous?
It was carrying the cultivation trough to the holes in the cliff wall!
The Devil’s Vines were interesting plants with varying high to low levels.
The Devil’s Vines ca from a huge ball-like-body that was sticky and disgusting. During normal tis, the vines would creep along the walls. When creatures got close to the walls, the vines would pierce at the creatures in order to suck their blood!
These vines originated from the Blackleaf forest.
It was a defense chanism used by the Blackleaf Elves. Although the na was not appealing, the vines were very tough...
“50,000 clumps of Devil’s Vines cost 700,000 gold coins. They are to be placed over the 100,000 square ter wall.
“Don’t worry. These plants may need to feed a lot in the beginning. But once they are mature, they will go in slumber when there is no food. They won’t wake up unless there is the sll of blood.” William sighed. The costs of the teleportation portals and Devil’s Vines had already amounted to more than 1,200,000 gold coins.
War was a huge spender of money, but William was willing to fork out money in order to repel the dark creatures. He didn’t want them to overrun the City of Dawn.
William wanted to spend all the money that he pilfered from the Iron Dukedom’s treasury.
With the valuable loot obtained from Stormy Island, William was confident of repulsing the continuous attacks of the dark creatures.
Legolas was curious why Lord William was embarking on such a massive fortification project.
In William’s camp, All the money earned by William belonged to him alone!
William had spent a fortune to develop the city. Even all the land belonged to him. He also employed people to man the shops to sell goods, and all the profits belonged to William!
Whatever William wanted to do, his subordinates only needed to obey his commands!
If Lord William allowed them to talk, they would do so. If not, they would keep quiet and listen to his orders.
It all boiled down to William’s capability!
William was powerful enough to silence any objections.
...
When William finished his inspection, he decided to return to Stormy Island.
But Old Band returned to the City of Dawn suddenly.
William noticed that Old Band looked anxious and worried. He smiled and said, “Slow down a bit. Take so fruit wine for telling your concerns.”
Old Band’s expression was awkward. He discovered he was not as composed as the young Lord. He pushed the wine cup aside, and solemnly said, “I was checking the stability of the teleportation portal when I discovered another dinsion tunnel.”
William was concerned and lightly coughed a few tis. “Unidirectional or bidirectional?”
“It’s bidirectional. When I discovered the dinsion tunnel, I imdiately assigned exploratory missions. A few chosen ones entered the portal, but they managed to co out from the original location.”
Old Band cautiously said, “It’s not a man-made teleportation portal. It’s a dinsion vortex that naturally ca into existence.
“Before the dinsion tunnel was created, any creatures who entered the dinsion vortex would be randomly teleported or trapped in the dinsion tunnel.
“But when a teleportation portal was connected to the dinsion vortex, and creatures entered the dinsion vortex, they would be teleported to Stormy Island. Unless I use my magic to seal this route.”
Old Band’s concern was obvious.
They had discovered an unknown dinsion.
Any future actions would depend on William’s decision. Would he ignore it or seal off the dinsion tunnel?
Or would William choose to explore the unknown dinsion?
Old Band noticed William was in deep thoughts and said, “A location that can form the dinsion vortex will have a strong magical presence that is on par with Stormy Island. The magical beast in the unknown dinsion will also be very powerful. But, there will also be a lot of minerals in the unknown dinsion.
“Of course, if my lord is not interested in exploring the unknown dinsion, I’ll shut it off.”
“Hold it.” William raised his brow. He did not know where this dinsion tunnel was leading to.
But the ambitious Lord William would not possibly give up such a good chance to have a resource-rich location.
“Follow to Stormy Island. I’m going to take a look.” William made his decision. Perhaps the unknown location could be a small island in the ocean.
If he did not try locating it, he would not give up!
“Cough. The dinsion vortex may not be very stable.”
William sat on his throne while folding his arms. He tilted his head as he gazed at Old Band and asked, “Why were you telling all the previous crap?”
Old Band was not to be trifled with.
He was a Moonlight Elf who was more than a century old.
Old Band rubbed his hands, and mischievously smiled. “If I can have the materials for constructing a teleportation portal, I can follow you into the portal. Even if the dinsion vortex were to explode, I could bring you back safely!”
“Old Band is aweso...” William shouted out in his heart. He almost clapped his hands.
It was the first ti he felt helpless when being taken advantage of...
“Okay, I’ll foot the bill. You’ll go to Blue Moon Town to buy the materials. I’ll give you three days.” William sighed. He was unable to impose on Moses for such diocre tasks.
Old Band nodded. He had beco excited, but soon he displayed an awkward smile. “How can I do that?”
“Hmm?”
“Cough. I’ll be fast, but it won’t take three days. One day, no, half a day will suffice.”
“The gold coins are for you. Keep it.” William flicked his hand, and 200,000 gold coins piled like a small mountain in the hall.
Old Band’s hands moved, and the gold coins vanished. He nodded at William.
Then, Old Band walked off.
Swish!
He teleported.
It was aweso.
It was obvious that the wily Space Archmage OId Band was also very curious about the unknown dinsion.
To a Space Archmage, a naturally occurring dinsion vortex was invaluable. If he could understand the mystery of the vortex, he would be able to level up to a Space Enchanter.
So, how much was a Space Enchanter worth?
Millions of gold coins?
That was outrageously insufficient.
To Old Band, the value of the dinsion vortex was worth more than a billion gold coins.
He did not know how long the dinsion vortex would last. He knew that he had to unlock the secrets of the vortex.
Why did Old Band accompany William?
Was he afraid that William might not return?
No, that was just an excuse!
...
“I’m so busy. Let take a rest and recover my breath.” William felt very tired. Ever since version 1.0 started, he had not had any leisure ti. He was either busy fighting wars or exploring the uncharted regions.
“I have to tell Annie to keep Old Band in check. He must be intentionally creating troubles.” William walked out of the conference hall.
After a while, he arrived at the Moon Tree and ignored Arthur, who was at the entrance. He arrogantly walked into the princess’ bedroom.
Heartache!
Stabbing pain in the heart!
The angry Arthur clenched his fists. Previously, William would ask Arthur to convey his presence to the princess. But now, William walked in without asking.
What was William’s relationship with the princess?
What was the progress?
What did the princess promise William?
The dazed Arthur’s mind was in a ss. He could not go into the princess’ bedroom as he had to guard the entrance.
When William arrived at Annie’s Aerial garden, he felt the relaxation that he had yearned for a long ti.
The little princess was bare-footed as she sat on the swing that moved to and fro. She was not aware of William.
William took off his shoes and walked in. He did not say a word. Instead, he lay down on a hammock and closed his eyes.
One minute!
Five minutes!
Ten minutes!
Annie clenched her fists. It had been almost ten minutes, but William kept quiet.
Therefore, the little princess was about to drive him out, but then she heard gentle snoring...
Annie watched William curl up in the hammock. His brows were tightly knitted even while he was sleeping.
He seed to be in deep thoughts. His lips were tightly pursed. It was as though he was keeping a lot of secrets.
She felt sorry for him.
Neigh!
The unicorn walked to her side and scrapped its head against the princess’ shoulder...
“He’s pitiful... I’m pitiful too. Don’t you think so?” Annie sighed. She did not have to pity anyone.
Everyone was in the sa plight.
They could not return to their hos.
They were pitiful caterpillars exiled by their clans.
Who would care about these pitiful caterpillars?
Only when the caterpillars transford into the most beautiful butterflies, would people lift up their heads to admire the beauty!
