Chapter 184: Mythological Relics?
William was bewildered.
He never expected Stormy Island to have such things.
He did not expect the southern canyon to have traces of intelligent civilization...
“How can it be? This is an island from a mythological era. How can there be buildings?” William and his subordinates used their swords to clean up the walls so that they could see clearly the etchings on the walls...
They gulped.
Seeing the presence of the strange magical beasts, they had been sure this was an island from the mythological age.
It was an age in which Gods ruled the world.
Back then, the Gods’ continent was not separated into nine parts.
The Elves already existed, but their numbers were small. They could only survive under the protection of the World Tree.
Humans had no records. But according to logic, it should be...
Humans at that ti existed only as food for the wild and magical beasts. They had not experienced much developnt.
The Dwarfs and Seraphkin were also in existence in the Gods’ era. But the war of the Gods created a huge repercussion. Many intelligent races had been severely impeded. For thousands of years, they barely survived in the Great Dragons’ era before they finally recovered.
With the absence of the Gods, the Great Dragons beca the rulers...
To the Gods, the Great Dragons were just over-sized worms, except for so Dragons that posed a certain threat. In the Gods’ era, there were many creatures that were on par with the Great Dragons.
For example: the Behemoths, Titans, Single-eyed Giants, superior Manticores...
These creatures existed in the mythological ages, and they were still around even now.
Even though many species had not been seen for a long ti, it did not an that they were extinct.
William knew that these creatures existed in many places...
For example, the Behemoths lived in the snowy north. Due to the harsh environnt there, very few Humans were able to reach the place. Even fewer Snow Elves knew the location of the Behemoth.
It was a race that could tear the Great White Dragon apart and feast on its flesh...
The Behemoths were active in the Gods’ era. But at the start of the Great Dragons’ era, they suffered a cataclysmic setback that caused their numbers to dwindle. Hence, it beca difficult to encounter Behemoths!
They were not actually magical beasts, as they had languages and intelligence...
The Titans were even more aweso.
William had read so strange historical books that dEpicted powerful Titans pitting against the Gods. He was not sure if it was an exaggerated dEpiction, as in his previous life, he had not encountered such strong Titans...
“As for the Single-eyed Giants, they multiplied a lot. They are extrely strong. It’s rumored that they were the ancestors of the Trolls, but I think it’s a mistake...
“The superior Manticores and Manticores are different. In the Gods’ era, they were on par with Great Dragons. The current Manticores are not of the superior level, and the bloodlines are inferior. Hence, they had beco steeds for other races.” William had such a similar flying steed. These highly intelligent magical beasts had a voracious appetite. Under certain circumstances, they could be tad.
The three Human empires had Manticore legions that were extrely powerful...
“Clear this area and see if there is an entrance!” William silently pondered. It could be a relic left by the Gods.
Or, it could be a relic left by the Elves or Seraphkin.
William was excited. It was out of his expectations to discover such a treasure.
Initially, his aim was to obtain the Thunder God ring and take over the resources on the island. But he had an unexpected discovery of a relic. When the marsh octopus died in his previous life, he did not discover any relics in the canyon...
It was worthwhile to use those three magical crystals...
“I’ll strike it rich if it’s a relic.” Lautner’s eyes shimred. Both Lautner and Burned Cinder activated their battle energy skills and cleared the mud and soil on the walls. They also killed the magical crabs that were hiding in the soil.
These crabs had a big and small pincer each. They were quite similar to burrowing crabs. When any creatures passed by, they would extend their pincers and pinch the creatures to death before feasting.
These low-level magical beasts were a great threat to other creatures.
But to William and his subordinates, it was not a big deal.
They diligently cleared soil from the walls. After three hours, a large area had been cleared, and they discovered a preserved wall painting!
William backed up and observed the painting. His eyes glittered.
The wall painting had colors that did not fade. It was hard to imagine how it could remain preserved in this state.
The painting depicted day ti.
The sky had a black hole.
It looked like a huge palm as large as the sky was about to tear the black hole...
On the surface, one could spot a few races like Titan, Behemoths, Great Dragons, and humanoids that were taller than the clouds...
They wanted to stop that humongous hand...
An Epic battle was about to comnce...
The painting did not have any words or recordings. There was only a painted scene, yet it was shocking.
Lautner and Burned Cinder observed the painting and gulped. Lautner could not resist and asked, “What’s this? Is that a war in the mythological ages?”
“I didn’t expect to see a painting of the mythological era. This must be a relic left from tens of thousands of years ago.” Burned Cinder deeply inhaled. He was not a common fool. As an outstanding yet destitute BOSS, he possessed vast knowledge.
He knew about the three recorded eras on the Gods’ continent. Now he knew about the Legendary mythological era.
Nobody knew the exact date of the mythological era.
But he knew that the start of the first era was thirty thousand years ago...
But there was a missing gap in the era of the Gods and Great Dragon. Only very few legends about the Gods were passed on to this date.
Lautner did not expect to see such an old relic. He pointed at the two creatures on the painting and said, “If I’m not wrong, aren’t they Behemoth and Great Dragon? What is the huge hand from the black hole? Why did the two opposing archenemies collaborate to fight against the hand?”
“Dark creatures?”
“Devil?”
“I don’t think it’s the dark creatures. I haven’t seen such powerful dark creatures. If the hand appears in the Dark World, it will smack the Lord of the Devils to smithereens...”
“Then he must be a Devil. But it doesn’t make sense. Devils are underground creatures!”
Lautner and Burned Cinder started discussing enthusiastically.
William stroked his chin and pondered. “Did I have the wrong information about the Gods and Devils? Perhaps, the Devils are the invaders while the Gods are the natives?”
“With the start of the great battle, the Devils lost to the Gods and continued fighting in an alternate dinsion...
“But the Devils ensured that their races were able to enter the Underworld. Will that ensure generations of invasion from the underground Devils?”
“But it doesn’t make sense. The painting dEpicted that the various creatures on the Gods’ continent were on the losing end...
“Not everyone can enter the alternate dinsion. The Behemoths look like the main fighting force, but they aren’t able to fly.
“Maybe it’s a partial record of the Gods’ era?”
“Perhaps, it is a history that is more ancient than the Gods’ era?”
William contemplated for a long ti. He did not believe that the painting was dEpicting the war after which the Gods left the continent...
He beca worried. How was he going to open up such an aweso relic?
