The dense Aura bolstered their confidence, emboldening them to face the impending crisis.

"’En’ can’t penetrate it, so we have no way of knowing how many things are inside."

Beyond took a deep breath, then expanded the Aura around his body until it extended into the black mist.

But when it touched the mist, his ’En’ seed to hit an invisible barrier, completely blocked.

After several attempts, he still couldn’t gather any information.

Suddenly, Mascher swung a punch at an empty space behind him, his fist wrapped in dense Aura, generating a gust of wind!

"BOOM!"

With a loud crash, Mascher’s fist struck the deck, leaving a dent surrounded by a web of cracks.

"Mascher! What are you doing?!" Usan shouted angrily, his voice tinged with confusion.

As Mascher’s close friend, he couldn’t understand why Mascher had suddenly done this.

"What am I doing? There was an enemy here just now! I was just a bit too slow—unfortunately, it got away."

Mascher replied stiffly, his expression stiff and unnatural, as if he were being controlled.

Now, everyone understood—sothing was definitely wrong with Mascher.

There was clearly nothing there!

"Was he controlled? But how?"

Muheer’s expression was grave as he stared at Mascher, who still looked dazed and muttered under his breath.

"No, he wasn’t controlled. He was under an illusion."

Akira shook his head, and suddenly, a pair of crimson eyes appeared behind him.

Dark waves of aura silently erged.

The black waves of aura surged like a tide, enveloping everyone on the ship.

The others showed no reaction.

Only Mascher and a few others on night watch shuddered, wisps of black gas seeping from their bodies.

Monts later, clarity returned to Mascher’s and the others’ eyes.

"Either way, let’s try dispersing this black fog first." Akira gently stroked owth beside him and spoke softly.

"Leave it to , nya!"

owth patted its chest, then pulled out a strange-looking object.

It was an enormous leaf, taller than a person, its surface covered in intricate patterns.

It also emitted a faint green glow, making it clear at a glance that it was no ordinary item.

Gale Leaf: A single strong swing could summon a fierce gust of wind.

This was the result of owth’s modifications to an Aura Tool.

The core effect of the Aura Tool remained unchanged, but owth had removed so of its restrictions.

owth swung the leaf several tis in quick succession and suddenly, powerful gusts of wind materialized, surging forward from its position.

The winds were like invisible hands, violently stirring the black fog before sweeping it away like trash.

With the fog gone, what lay beneath was revealed in full.

When they saw those eerie things, most of the crew wore expressions of shock, a chill running down their spines in the dim night.

In the ink-black sea, shadowy figures lurked.

Their lower halves were subrged and indistinct, but their upper bodies were exposed, allowing them to be identified.

"Are these... rmaids?" Usan gulped, his face uneasy, as he spoke uncertainly.

These so-called rmaids looked downright grotesque.

Their hair was thick as ropes, the ends faintly glinting with a cold light.

Their upper bodies were covered in dense green scales, reflecting a tallic sheen under the faint moonlight.

But the most striking feature was their faces—three gaping holes in their faces!

Two smaller black voids could barely be called eye sockets.

The larger hole where a mouth should be was ringed with sharp teeth.

Apart from these three voids, their faces were entirely covered in green scales, making them look utterly bizarre.

This was why Usan struggled to call them rmaids.

Aside from the rough outline, there was nothing about them that resembled the mythical creatures.

Akira had a rough guess—the new Pokemon might be connected to these things!

"These should be sirens!"

The mont Akira finished speaking, the sirens surrounding the ship let out a collective shriek!

High-frequency screams echoed across the sea, the pitch so piercing it felt like thousands of icy needles stabbing into their souls!

This was agony that went beyond the flesh.

A single siren’s cry wouldn’t have been nearly as devastating.

But with twenty or thirty of them encircling the ship, the shrill screams ca from all directions at once.

In just a few seconds, several people who moved slightly slower felt sharp pain shooting through their ears.

Threads of blood trickled from their ears.

Those who reacted quickly could only wrap their ears in aura to mitigate so of the sound’s effects.

And this was only the beginning!

As if sharing a single mind, the sirens shuddered in unison and then plus of black smoke billowed from the dark voids that served as their mouths.

The black smoke spread across the sea in an instant, moving at an astonishing speed.

This smoke was different from the earlier black mist.

It pulsed with dense energy fluctuations!

Under the horrified gazes of the group, the black smoke continuously morphed in shape before solidifying into humanoid figures.

If they were rely humanoid, it wouldn’t have been a big deal.

But they could clearly see—those figures were exact replicas of themselves!

The smoke had copied them, creating shadowy puppets!

The puppets were unnaturally light, stepping effortlessly on air as they attacked from all directions.

In other words, they were surrounded.

And the number of shadow puppets even outnumbered them.

At that mont, the sa thought flashed through everyone’s mind—

If it was just their appearances being mimicked, that would be one thing.

But what if their strength—or even their Nen abilities—could be replicated too...

"Don’t just stand there gawking! Those damned things can’t possibly copy us perfectly. Stay sharp and fight!"

"Rember, with Akira here, we’re bound to win!"

Beyond’s roar snapped the fearful ones out of their daze, reigniting their fighting spirit.

Right! They still had Akira!

Even as they spoke, the shadow puppets had already begun boarding the ship!

A pattern could be discerned from their movents.

The first puppets to board were, without exception, replicas of the strongest fighters on the ship.

Such as Ging and Beyond.

What puzzled Akira was that none of the puppets had copied him.

Was it because they lacked the ability? or because he was too strong ?

Beyond spread his arms, erupting with aura that surged several ters high.

In a single explosive step, he vanished from his original position.

The next instant, he appeared before his own shadow puppet.

His massive palm, reinforced by aura, whipped up razor-sharp gusts as he swung.

"DIE!"

BANG!

Beyond’s furious glare burned as his strike shattered the puppet’s right arm, reducing it to wisps of dissipating smoke.

Without missing a beat, he pivoted, crouched low and repeated the motion—smashing the puppet’s left leg to pieces!

In their very first exchange, he had crippled the puppet’s arm and leg!

But before anyone could celebrate, the scattered smoke in the air rapidly reford—this ti as sharp spikes that shot straight for Beyond’s chest!

The entire sequence unfolded in the blink of an eye!
