JASMINE’S POV

I t his eyes and a shiver went down my spine. Between him and Kolton, I almost wasn’t sure who I feared more.

"Jasmine," he called my na in a surprisingly gentle manner. "Anthony."

"Keith," I slowly said his na in response.

"Dad?" Tony said in surprise. He began making his way towards us.

"Hold on now," Kolton stopped him as the n behind continued pointing the guns at Keith. "Give what I want first before you start talking to your woman," Kolton harshly replied.

I swallowed hard wondering what he was going to do.

"Of course," Keith replied. "Here is the paperwork. I signed off the Acland Group as you asked."

Was Keith actually planning on giving away the company? I wondered. There was no way. Was he possibly bluffing?

"That better be the case Keith or this will be a long morning for you," Kolton replied.

"Why do you have to do this to ?" Keith asked. "I know this has sothing to do with my father and what happened between our mothers but I was a victim too you know."

Kolton scoffed. "Well father cares for you doesn’t he? He wouldn’t want to lose his Chairman," he said non-challantly.

It was clear to that if Keith was lying Kolton planned to take him out to hurt their father. Before his plan had been careful and ticulous, but now it felt desparate and risky. He was out of options basically and now just wanted to cause as much damage as possible.

This made feel uneasy because if he felt he had nothing to lose were all in trouble. My grip on Tony tightened. I didn’t care about myself but I had to make sure he survived.

Kolton opened the docunt Keith had handed him and quickly went through it.

"I’m going to have this verified now and then I want you sign that you won’t proceed to press any charges for everything. Once that’s done. I’ll let everyone go if it all goes smoothly," he inford him.

Who knew how long that whole process was going to take. I wondered if Kolton would let everyone go that easy.

"Of course," Keith agreed. I had a strong feeling he was bluffing. He surely knew the serious situation we were in...he wouldn’t just co in without so planned.

Keith was made to sit down as the guards remained with their weapons pointed at him. Kolton went into the next room as he spoke with his n in there and handed them the docunt to verify it. He was still in earshot.

He looked at . "Are you okay?" he asked . I slowly nodded my head. I wondered if he was thinking about escaping form his ho yesterday. He must be angry surely.

"And you Tony?" he proceeded.

"Yes dad," he replied.

Suddenly, I heard soone rushing into the room where Kolton was.

"Sir, there’s an ambush outside! The police officers have breached past the guards securing the property outside! They are headed for the mansion.

"What?!" Kolton said in shock. He turned to Keith. "What have you--"

Before Kolton could even finish his sentence Keith moved into action. He was already standing and quickly grabbed the guns of the two n who were watching him. He shot them their legs and they scread and fell to the floor.

"Stop him!" I heard Kolton. Imdiately the room beca a round of shots being fired. The sound was defeaning. My vision beca blurry from all the action.

I imdiately had Tony duck under the table with . He shrieked in fear but did as I said. Looks like Keith had co in here with a plan after all.

"Jasmine where are you?!" Keith’s voice bood. I couldn’t call out from all the shots being fired.

"Go! go! we have to get out of the room," I yelled at Tony. My eyes were locked on the doorway on the otherside leading to a hallway. Tony crawled from under the table and and I followed behind we reached the table.

We got up and ran. I used my body to cover tony who ran ahead of in case any stray bullets ca our way. I found a gun on the floor next to one Kolton’s n and picked it up on the way out.

I looked to the right side of the hallway where I knew the exit leading outside was. I saw and heard gunshots in that direction. It wasn’t safe to take Tony there. We’d have to wait out the gunfight currently going on.

I looked down to my left and the upper floor and other rooms were that side.

"Let’s go upstairs" I ordered Tony.

"Okay," he agreed and we went that way.

We made our way up the spiraling staircase until we were on the second floor far from the gunshots on the ground floor. I continued moving with him.

From the corner of my eye I saw a figure make their way up the stairs. My eyes narrowed. With the gun in one hand and the other holding Tony’s hand, I guided us through the wings of the floor.

I kept watching watching all the open rooms we passed. Making sure no one was waiting inside to attack. Kolton had sent most of his aides outside the property to protect it frm the police so I guess no one was left inn the house.

The person coming up hadn’t called out to us so they were unboutedly the enemy. I settled on the furthis wing on the upper floor far from house. The shots were still being fired outside and on the lower floors.

We went down a hallway. Every room was empty when we reached the last one I thought it was perfect.

"Hide in here and lock the door," I told Tony. "Don’t open it until I co back or unless you’re sure it’s not your uncle."

"Okay," he accepted. "But promise you’ll co back." he added with concerned expression. He went inside and locked the door.
