Just as ng Hao finished basking in his inward satisfaction, the system’s familiar chi echoed in his mind once more, calm and chanical.
[Ding! The host has completed the First Main Mission assigned by the system.]
[As a reward, the host has been granted a choice between two rewards:]
1. Ten years’ worth of cultivation.
2. One hundred charm points.
Note: You may only choose one of the above rewards. Do you wish to claim your reward now?
ng Hao’s expression remained unreadable on the surface, but inside his thoughts were spinning rapidly.
"Ten years of cultivation... just one month of effort has brought to the peak of the Fifth Level of Qi Gathering. If I take ten full years’ worth of cultivation directly, I could at least reach Foundation Building. Perhaps even surpass it if the conversion is efficient."
His eyes sparkled faintly with temptation. Power, strength, recognition—all would beco his in far less ti.
But his gaze then shifted inward again, this ti toward another aspect of his system status.
"Charm points..."
He paused, thoughtful.
Currently, his charm points rested at 500—a number that had already turned heads, softened gazes, and shifted hearts. Su Lan, Li Yao, and even other female cultivators had all responded, consciously or not, to his unnatural allure.
And he hadn’t even used them strategically yet.
"If I increase my charm to 600..." he thought, his eyes narrowing slightly, "how many more hearts could I stir? How many closed doors could I open?"
He imagined it: Su Lan’s gaze softening even more, Li Yao’s defenses collapsing, and her master’s interest piqued. All pieces in the ga of cultivation and seduction.
"With a few well-played moves, the benefits I can gain from their cultivation resources, personal guidance, or even dual cultivation..." his lips twitched, "could far exceed ten years of pure cultivation."
And so, he made his decision.
His finger moved within the system interface of his mind, clicking on the second option.
[Ding! Reward has been distributed.]
[Charm Points increased by 100.]
[Current Charm Points: 600.]
Instantly, an invisible wave passed through his body.
His skin grew even smoother and paler, now with a slight translucent glow—like the sheen of jade under moonlight. His facial structure subtly refined, enhancing the natural symtry of his features. His eyelashes lengthened slightly, lips turned rosier, and even his scent beca faintly intoxicating. It was not a change visible to the average eye—it was subtle, refined, like an artist perfecting a masterpiece.
The system’s protective chanism ensured that the transformation was invisible to the naked eye, shielding him from suspicion. No flashes, no bursts of aura. Just silent, seamless perfection.
Yet even that was enough to disturb the inner world of Su Lan.
She watched ng Hao without blinking—and sothing inside her twisted.
It wasn’t just his face. It was his presence.
Before, he had been striking. Handso. Unique. Enough to make any woman take a second glance.
But now... now, he was sothing else.
He stood in silence, respectful, obedient—but radiating a subtle charm so natural it felt forbidden. Her heart, unbothered for decades, skipped a beat. Her thoughts, once as calm and unshakable as the surface of a frozen lake, now stirred with confusion.
"What... what is this feeling?" Su Lan thought, her eyes narrowing slightly. "He looks the sa, but... why does he seem even more dazzling? Why do I..."
She bit the inside of her cheek, snapping herself out of her trance just as her mind began to drift to dangerous places.
"Damn it... what is wrong with ?" she hissed inwardly. "He’s my disciple. MY disciple. How could I—how DARE I—entertain such filthy thoughts about him?"
She glanced away for a mont, composing herself, but her mind kept screaming.
"This is the flaw. This is how a Dao Heart is broken. I cannot—will not—be moved by a man’s appearance, no matter how ideal he may seem. No matter how... perfect..."
Her hand tightened around the hilt of her sword.
Then, forcing herself to breathe deeply, she steeled her heart once more. Her voice, though slightly less cold than before, remained composed.
"You may stand."
With a wave of her hand, a streak of light flew toward ng Hao.
He caught it effortlessly—a jade token, smooth and warm to the touch. On its face was engraved a beautiful sigil of the Sixth Peak. Below it, in elegant script, his na.
And beneath that:
"Ninth Personal Disciple of Su Lan."
ng Hao raised his eyes, admiring the craftsmanship for a mont, before looking toward his master. But sothing in her expression—barely perceptible—caught his interest.
Was it... unease?
Su Lan, anwhile, was internally screaming.
"He was already attractive... but now, he’s like a celestial being in human skin. If I... if I married him, wouldn’t I be the envy of every woman in the sect?"
She shook her head furiously.
"No. No! What am I thinking?! This is madness. Just what sort of spell has he cast upon ...? I’ve cultivated for decades, resisted temptations more powerful than this. I can’t let this boy..."
Her internal struggle surged dangerously close to breaking her Dao Heart. That was when she made the final decision—she needed space.
"You may go now, ng Hao."
With another casual wave of her hand, space distorted around him.
Before he could even react, his body was engulfed in the teleportation light, and in a blink—he vanished.
Outside the main hall, beneath the pale light of the Sixth Peak’s twin moons, Li Yao stood silently.
She had waited patiently, the wind tugging lightly at her hair and robes. Her expression held a mix of curiosity and worry.
As soon as ng Hao materialized on the teleportation platform, her eyes lit up.
"Junior Brother," she called, stepping forward with a gentle smile.
But ng Hao didn’t respond.
Because just then, another chi rang in his ears.
[Ding! Favorability increase detected.]
[Su Lan – Sixth Peak Master: Affinity increased.]
ng Hao’s lips curved upward once more.
But this ti, he didn’t hide it.
"Another step forward... this ga is progressing better than expected," he thought, his eyes glowing faintly .
