[Please fill out your public profile.]

A few hours later, Xiang Nan and Manman suddenly received a system prompt.

Public profile?

A different task mode, perhaps… Xiang Nan guessed.

He saw that on the system interface, his own player info appeared:

[Player Nickna: To be filled in]

[Actual Minimum Combat Power: 156]

[Maximum Combat Power: Unknown]

[Hidden Combat Power: To be filled in]

"Hmm?"

Xiang Nan raised his brow.

So the system is converting a player's strength into a nurical value now? His minimum combat power is 156, but maximum combat power is labeled as 'unknown,' implying that depending on conditions and environnt, it can fluctuate.

"It looks like this ti, it won't be a simple private or two-person mission; since it involves sothing called 'public' info, it must be a larger-scale event."

Xiang Nan said to Manman.

"Oh." Manman responded.

Xiang Nan then tapped back to the system's main display and noticed that the highest combat power among current players was still 522. If you compare it nurically to his own 156, that would be about one-third. This was a bit more than Xiang Nan expected. He had assud he still lagged behind high-level players quite a bit—maybe only about one-fifth their strength.

"As the current 'representative player' of the Hunter x Hunter world, that person must know their data is publicly visible to countless other players… so could it be that the public '522' rating is sothing they themselves adjusted, containing so trickery?"

Xiang Nan speculated.

He tested out filling in his own hidden combat power. If his minimum was 156 and he put 100 into the hidden portion, then his publicly shown minimum might beco 56. And presumably, that info would be visible to others.

"Also, I suspect this public combat power is indeed visible to everyone."

Observing the system's rules, Xiang Nan found that he couldn't hide all of it. The system required that at least one-third of the original value remain visible. So Xiang Nan thought it over and decided to hide most of his strength.

He entered "100" as his hidden power, leaving 56 as the publicly shown minimum. As for his nickna, he casually typed "Seventeen."

Hence, his public profile beca sothing like:

[Player: Seventeen]

[Combat Power: 56]

After handling his own data, Xiang Nan glanced at Manman, who was at a loss:

"What's your combat power?"

"123."

"Huh?" Xiang Nan was a little surprised.

At present, Manman has developed her own Nen ability, so logically her minimum combat power shouldn't be that much lower than his, or she might even surpass him. It looks like the system has its own hidden thods of assessnt.

"Go ahead and hide 80 of yours, so your displayed becos 43. For the nickna, pick whatever you like."

Xiang Nan frowned, mulling it over. In the upcoming mission, since that's what the system is requiring, it's better to stay low-profile.

"All set."

Manman spoke up after a while.

[Ding! Player settings complete. Please match with a faction.]

Both heard another system prompt. Their screen changed, displaying sothing like a "lobby" with two factions: "Positive" and "Negative."

Simultaneously, on the public channel, a flurry of player recruit announcents appeared:

"Positive faction, 5-person squad, short one mber. Requirent: minimum combat power of at least 80, outstanding system talent, strong individual abilities, any gender welco."

"Negative faction, 7-person squad, looking for two powerhouses, Nen users preferred."

"Anyone with top-tier ability willing to lead a team?"

"Nen users are welco to join. I'm the team leader, have info from high-level players, will share if you join."

Seeing the continuous bulletins scrolling past, Xiang Nan couldn't help but smile.

"Looks like this round's format is different… Probably it's not limited to just Extinction 3 players, maybe Extinction 4 is involved too."

Otherwise, given how many died in previous rounds, there wouldn't be so many people in one bracket, Xiang Nan mused.

"Isn't the system's quest random?"

Manman recalled.

"Maybe not this ti," Xiang Nan explained. "It might be a fixed 'program' for the Extinction Ga."

"Extinction 4 players typically beco team leaders. We see from the chat that a bunch of them are forming squads," Xiang Nan continued. "So presumably it's going to be a big internal confrontation among players—so kind of positive vs. negative war."

He spotted that "Terror Cat" had a combat power of 101, while "Real Jesus" had 119. Both were evidently Extinction 4, and presumably both wanted to lead teams.

Xiang Nan's official minimum is 56, but his actual minimum is 156 minus 100 hidden. All the more reason he suspects the system's so-called "minimum power" might not be the entire story.

"What about your maximum combat power?" Xiang Nan asked Manman abruptly.

"Minimum is 123, maximum is 202."

Manman answered.

"…"

Xiang Nan's eyelid twitched. He hadn't asked about her maximum before. As for him, his maximum is "Unknown," with no nuric data.

Why is that…?
