Loki and Killua and Gon also share a connection in that Loki taught them Nen.
Kurapika couldn’t stop Loki. After staring at Loki for a long ti, Kurapika finally conceded.
"You can ask Gon and the others for help, but Loki, please don’t let them do anything dangerous."
Kurapika didn’t need to remind Loki of this. Loki absolutely didn’t want Gon, Killua, and Leorio to have any accidents. Not just them, but Basho, lody, Baise, and the others; he didn’t want any accidents. This affected Loki’s mission completion rate.
"We need to find a new place to stay quickly."
Loki didn’t have Gon and Killua’s contact information, but Kurapika and Leorio had exchanged numbers.
Loki looked at Kurapika. Kurapika called Leorio.
"Leorio! Are you in Yorknew City?"
"Yes."
"I need your help!"
"Okay. I’ll wait for you there. See you at 9."
Kurapika hung up and looked at Loki. "Nenon’s asleep. Let’s wait a while to wake her. We et at 9."
"Okay."
Loki wanted Neon to do a fortune-telling for him. Dalzollene was dead; he could ask her after finding a new place.
At 8:50, at a hotel entrance, Gon, Killua, and Leorio waited on a bench.
Gon asked, "Kurapika, what happened?"
Leorio shook his head. "I don’t know. He just said to wait here."
Kurapika arrived soon. He saw them imdiately.
"Leorio, Gon, Killua!"
They t again, all changed. Kurapika seed different, though it was hard to say how.
"What is it?" Leorio asked directly.
Kurapika’s smile faded; his expression beca serious.
"Nothing special. I need you to help check into a hotel."
Leorio beca impatient. "Kurapika, you asked for help; tell us what happened! What do you an, ’special reasons’?"
Gon said, "Yeah! We can help if you’re in trouble."
"Gon, Leorio, I’m not telling you for your safety."
"Cut the crap! What safety? I’m not afraid of danger! We faced danger during the Hunter Exam!"
Kurapika sighed. He’d expected this.
"I’m a bodyguard for the Nostrade family. Last night, the worldwide mafia’s underground auction was attacked."
"Wait, what? The underground auction was attacked?" Leorio was stunned. He knew about the auction. Who dared attack it? Didn’t they know the mafia was behind it?
"The Phantom Troupe did it!"
Leorio was shocked. Wasn’t that the group that killed Kurapika’s clan? Killua’s expression turned serious.
Kurapika looked at them. "The Phantom Troupe attacked last night. They didn’t take anything, but we captured and killed one of them."
"Seriously? Kurapika, you killed a Phantom Troupe mber?" Killua stood up, staring at Kurapika. His father, Silva, had said not to provoke the Phantom Troupe. Soone his father warned about couldn’t be killed easily.
Kurapika smiled awkwardly. "Yes, but he was captured and couldn’t move."
Killua sat down. ’I knew it! The Phantom Troupe—even my father feared them—couldn’t be killed so easily.’
"Loki defeated them, then I captured and questioned him. Loki let kill him."
"Pfft!" Killua sprayed water.
"What? Loki?"
Gon said, "Loki’s in Yorknew City?"
Leorio said, "He defeated a Phantom Troupe mber? A criminal? Loki defeated such a dangerous criminal?"
"Loki’s in Yorknew City. Yesterday, he defeated a Phantom Troupe mber, protected us during the retreat, blocked five or six Troupe mbers, and injured three!"
...
"Machi, did you find anything?" Franklin asked, tossing a body into the bathroom.
Machi, at the computer, said, "They checked out this morning and didn’t check in under other nas. They’re in a hotel we don’t know."
"Then we can’t find them."
"Any other way?" Franklin asked, looking at Machi.
"A bounty on the black market would get results quickly, but that’s too obvious; it tells them we don’t know their location." Machi enlarged a ssage on the screen. "And we’re the ones with the bounty now."
The mafia knew about the attack. High bounties on the Phantom Troupe were posted everywhere that morning. Even small pieces of information would be rewarded.
Machi looked at the computer. "We have bounties on our heads."
Machi smiled. "Yes!"
"Why are you happy?"
"Because the mafia posted bounties, showing they can’t handle us; they’ll pay others to deal with us."
Franklin frowned. "What does that an?"
Machi turned to the screen. "That fla kid is supposed to be with the Nostrade family! He’s strong; he could threaten us, yet the mafia is offering bounties on us."
Machi smiled mysteriously. "What does this an?"
Franklin glared at Machi. "Just say it! You’re better at thinking."
"Hahaha! It ans the mafia doesn’t know Uvogin was captured, and we were injured by the fla kid."
Franklin glared at Machi.
"Okay, okay, I’ll say it." Machi stopped teasing.
"We can get the mafia to find Loki."
Franklin looked at Machi, still confused.
"If the mafia finds out he can deal with us, they’ll find the fla kid and have him deal with us!"
"But how do we make the mafia think the fla kid is strong?" Franklin asked.
"Ordinary people don’t know about Nen users," Machi said.
"It’s hard to make ordinary people understand Nen users’ strength, but we don’t need them to know how strong the fla kid is," Machi said. "We just need them to know Loki killed one of our mbers last night."
Franklin’s expression changed. "Let’s ask the leader. Your idea is good, but telling everyone the Troupe failed... the leader might not agree."
Machi understood; Chrollo needed to decide. She looked at information on the Hunter website, stopping at Baise’s profile.
Machi paused. "A Transmutation-type Nen user."
After checking everyone’s information, Machi called Chrollo.
Machi explained her idea.
"Okay! No problem. Let’s send Uvogin on his final journey!"
Chrollo agreed readily. But Machi had another concern.
"Leader, one of the enemy’s companions is a Transmutation type!"
Chrollo looked up. "Transmutation?"
After thinking, Chrollo realized the problem. The enemy had a Transmutation type. Chrollo knew the range of Transmutation abilities. A normal Transmutation type wasn’t a big deal. But Uvogin was captured and killed.
