These attacks were as fast as bullets.
Hisoka raised his hand, holding a card. Nen coated the card, making the fragile paper as strong as tal.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Blocking Loki’s attacks, Hisoka swiped the card toward Loki’s throat.
"Soru!!"
"Geppo!!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A burst of air erupted from Loki’s feet, propelling him into the air. He moved through the air, quickly putting distance between himself and Hisoka.
Landing safely, Hisoka watched Loki’s use of Geppo, utterly shocked. If the previous techniques were amazing, Geppo felt like an art form. The ability to move through the air without any tools was unbelievable.
Leorio arrived just as the fight was happening, witnessing Loki’s incredible Rokushiki techniques against Hisoka. When Loki landed, Leorio’s wooden staff fell to the ground.
"That kid... is fighting Hisoka, that monster, to this extent..."
In Leorio’s eyes, Hisoka’s earlier moves, while flashy, showed his overwhelming power. Yet, Loki’s strange attacks were keeping up with Hisoka. Even though Hisoka seed unfazed, Leorio was still incredibly shocked.
"That monstrous kid!"
Hisoka’s expression is almost manic as he looks at Loki. ’Amazing! Unbelievable techniques, terrifying talent. This kid is the perfect toy.’
Hisoka touches his forehead. ’No, I must restrain myself. Killing him now would be a waste.’
He glances at Leorio. ’He’s a decent toy, but compared to this kid... he’s far inferior!’
"Whew! Finally found you, Leorio."
Gon’s voice suddenly appears. Leorio, hiding nearby, jumps. Hisoka and Loki both look at Leorio. Leorio’s heart sinks; being stared at by Hisoka isn’t good.
"Gon, what are you doing here? Leave!"
"I was worried. You weren’t catching up, so I ca to look for you. Where are Kurapika and Loki?" Gon looks around and sees Loki, waving.
Loki ignores Gon and looks at Hisoka. He’s not afraid; he can escape with Geppo. Even Hisoka probably can’t catch him in the air.
Tick!
Loki’s eyes narrow. Hisoka suddenly disappears, and a hand lands on Loki’s shoulder.
A voice whispers, "Hee hee hee! Killing you now would be a waste. Complete the Hunter Exam! You’ll discover your true talent. I hope you get stronger quickly; that’ll be more fun!"
Loki punches where the voice ca from, but he misses. Hisoka is gone.
Loki freezes. Gon and Leorio, noticing Hisoka’s disappearance, run to Loki.
"Loki, are you okay?" Gon asks, looking at the motionless Loki. "Was that Hisoka?"
"Yeah! But how did he disappear?" Leorio checks around.
Loki slowly smiles.
’I underestimated them.’
’Nen! I need to learn Nen quickly.’
He looks at his clothes. He’s unhard, but his clothes aren’t suitable for fighting. He needs to change. He sees a nice white cloak on a corpse.
He takes off his clothes and puts on the cloak. He looks like Yō Asakura.
Leorio and Gon are confused.
"Why the cloak?"
Loki looks at Gon. "It’s more convenient for fighting. My old clothes hindered ."
"Fighting? You fought Hisoka?" Gon’s face becos serious.
Loki replies calmly, "The exam should be ending soon. Let’s go to the second phase."
Leorio keeps looking at Loki.
Loki finally asks, "Why are you staring?"
Leorio looks embarrassed. "Those techniques... during your fight with Hisoka..."
"What about them?"
"I’m curious. What were those strange techniques?"
Gon listens quietly. Loki understands Leorio’s curiosity. Rokushiki in this world is surprising.
"Those are Rokushiki: Soru, Rankyaku, Geppo, Shigan, Tekkai, and Kami-e."
"Rokushiki? You used..."
Loki answers, "I didn’t use all of them, just Soru, Geppo, Rankyaku, and Shigan."
"Incredible techniques! Where did you learn them?"
Loki smiles; Leorio wants to learn.
"Only I know them in this world."
They reach the second exam site, but Leorio isn’t happy. After seeing Loki and Hisoka’s fight, he doubts his own strength. He’s unsure if he can beco a Hunter.
Kurapika and Killua arrive. Loki, knowing the second exam’s content, doesn’t plan to waste effort. He wants to learn Nen. In the Hunter x Hunter world, Nen is the true power. Even with Rokushiki, he couldn’t win against Hisoka. Nen is key.
Loki plans to have soone open his aura nodes, like Gon and Killua, to quickly learn Nen. The risk is death if he can’t control his aura. But he’s not worried; with Yō Asakura’s talent, controlling Nen shouldn’t be difficult.
Besides learning Nen, Loki wants to finish the Hunter Exam quickly. The regular process takes too long. After Hisoka’s silent approach, Loki feels unsafe.
His best chance is Netero’s ball ga. If he can steal the ball from Netero on the ship, he can quickly finish the exam.
It’s not easy, but there’s a chance. He only has one attempt, when Netero is unaware of his abilities.
Kurapika pats Loki’s shoulder. "Are you okay?"
Loki nods. "Yeah."
"Thank you, earlier."
"No problem. I wanted to see my level against Hisoka."
