He hurried down the mountain. He had many ideas. The ra ra no Mi’s power, especially its elentalization ability, was of great interest. Elentalization would be perfect.
Reaching the foot of Kukuroo Mountain, even the usually calm Loki was impatient. He decided to find a remote forest to test the ra ra no Mi. If successful, he could develop his dream—a fire spirit.
After awakening his Nen and learning he was a Specialization type, his first thought was a fire spirit. He had no other ideas. If he’d gotten sothing else, he might have thought it impossible. But the ra ra no Mi made it seem possible.
As Loki left Kukuroo Mountain, Netero received a call from Zeno at Hunter Association headquarters. Netero was drinking tea.
He took the call.
"Oh, Zeno! I’ll send the money..."
Spurt!
Netero sprayed tea on his attendant.
"What? A sword? A conjured sword?"
"I know. Goodbye!"
Netero ignored Zeno’s complaints, frowning, ignoring his attendant. He stroked his beard, thinking about Loki’s new ability—a sword. This was different from his expectations.
He called Loki. Even with Loki’s talent, he needed guidance.
Boom boom boom!
In a quiet forest, below a waterfall, a loud roar echoed. A wave of fire erupted, exploding in the air. The fire spread, engulfing the area. Bushes were ignited. The lush area beca scorched earth.
A human-shaped fla appeared, gradually forming Loki’s shape. The flas died down, as if absorbed into him. Loki looked tired.
"Elentalization consus so much Nen," he said, his face pale. "Even with my Nen capacity, I can only use elentalization a few tis."
In One Piece, elentalization wasn’t very draining. But here, without Yō Asakura’s Nen-converting power, it was too draining. He didn’t know why, but other abilities were unaffected. He was no longer a landlubber.
Beep beep!
Loki went to a pile of rocks, picking up his cloak and phone. It was Netero. He’d called dozens of tis while Loki tested the ra ra no Mi.
He answered.
"You deaf idiot! I’ve called so many tis..."
Loki put the phone away, waiting for Netero to finish. He put it back to his ear.
"I didn’t hear it."
Netero was speechless. After a few seconds, he cald down. "You developed your Hatsu?"
"Not yet," Loki said.
"Don’t lie! The sword is your Hatsu!"
Loki was surprised. Zeno had told Netero.
"Then, yes."
"Why a sword? What’s special about it?"
Zeno hadn’t told Netero about Shinsō’s abilities. Loki explained its ability to extend, omitting its Nen-enhancing properties in Shikai and Bankai.
Netero was relieved. Loki had followed his advice; the sword was suitable for mid-to-long-range combat. Enemies would assu it was for close-range combat, and it was good for preventing close-range attacks.
Netero’s frown eased.
"Will you continue developing Conjuration-type abilities, or..."
"No. I have an idea, but I don’t know if it’ll work."
Nen users usually develop one ability and improve it. Zeno constantly improved Doragon Heddo, lit. "Dragon-Head Caricature. But there are exceptions, like the Chira Ant’s King, ruem.
Loki’s Conjuration ability was newly developed and malleable.
"Tell your idea," Netero said.
Loki would have called Netero anyway.
"I want to develop a Nen beast."
"A Nen beast!" Netero’s eyes lit up. This was good. With Loki’s Emission, Manipulation, and Conjuration talents, a Nen beast was ideal.
"What kind of Nen beast? Have you decided?"
"Fire."
"Fire?" Netero was surprised. A fire Nen beast could use Transmutation. But transforming Nen into fire would be difficult.
"Loki, you want to transform Nen into fire and then create a fire Nen beast?"
"Yes..."
Netero pondered.
"Do you know what it takes to transform Nen into fire? Even imrsing Nen in fire to understand its changes, forms, and power would take at least ten years."
Netero wanted to dissuade Loki from wasting ten years.
"I understand, but I can already transform Nen into fire."
"Good. Even a normal Nen beast..." Netero stopped, realizing sothing was wrong.
