Who in the Association possessed Netero’s peak strength? Even Ging and Botobai couldn’t be considered equals.
He was the world’s strongest Nen user. The word "strongest" brought a na to everyone’s mind, a na that was difficult to accept.
Ignoring their thoughts, Ging offered his assessnt. "I’ve received intel. The creatures might be designated quarantine species."
"Chira Ants," Ging stated. "They’re predatory, symbiotic creatures that acquire genes through consumption."
Before Ging could finish, Cheadle stood, resolute. "Imdiately organize an investigation team. We need to act swiftly."
Inside the nest, the Queen struggled in pain. Neferpitou, guarding the entrance, looked back. Pouf stood in the distance, watching her. Youpi approached.
Saccho Kobayakawa Elsi, a two-star information Hunter, was responsible for most of the Hunter Association’s information releases and verifications.
After the Zodiacs acknowledged the urgency, Saccho Kobayakawa received orders to investigate the Chira Ant situation.
Knov and Morel were temporarily assigned to guard Loki, forbidden from leaving the Association. Knov’s Four-Dinsional Apartnt was the ideal confinent location, with Morel protecting Knov to prevent anyone from freeing Loki.
Inside the apartnt, Pakunoda and Baise sat separately, a large hospital bed in the center where Loki lay, hooked up to a respirator and various life support machines.
Knov regularly supplied food and water.
They had a special phone, capable of contacting only specific numbers.
Within the Four-Dinsional Apartnt, there was no day or night.
They had no sense of how much ti had passed, only that it had been a long ti.
"When can we leave?" Baise finally asked Pakunoda, breaking the silence.
Pakunoda shrugged indifferently, seemingly unconcerned about their confinent.
"Pakunoda, aren’t you even slightly eager to leave?" Baise pressed.
"No," Pakunoda replied flatly.
Baise was at a loss for words.
Pakunoda, observing Baise’s frustration, mused, "Don’t worry, we’ll leave soon."
Baise perked up. "Why?"
Pakunoda looked at Loki, lying quietly in bed.
"Because of him!"
Baise didn’t understand. "Loki? We don’t even know when he’ll wake up. The Hunter Association only stopped the bleeding; they haven’t treated him. He’s surviving solely on his own strength."
"Remarkable tenacity, isn’t it?" Pakunoda chuckled.
"No matter how tenacious, without treatnt, he’ll die," Baise retorted coldly, surprised by Pakunoda’s amusent.
"The Hunter Association’s reluctance to treat Loki shows just how afraid they are of him,"
Pakunoda stated, gesturing to their surroundings.
"If they weren’t afraid, why wouldn’t they let us leave? Why wouldn’t they treat him?"
They’d captured a criminal; even if he deserved death, basic humanitarian treatnt should precede sentencing.
But the Hunter Association lacked the courage to treat Loki and risk his awakening.
Loki was too powerful.
Baise shook her head, a wry smile on her face.
"It’s true. They’re afraid of an unconscious man."
His re presence, even unconscious, instilled fear—a fear so profound that they wouldn’t even risk his awakening.
They’d imprisoned a monster, but needed to keep it asleep.
Ti flew by.
A day after the Hunter Association dispatched Saccho Kobayakawa to investigate the Chira Ants, he and his team lost contact.
The loss of contact of such a skilled investigator highlighted the creatures’ danger.
No information had been transmitted.
The Zodiacs, in the Chairman’s office, received this news with grim expressions.
"Saccho Kobayakawa failed?" Mizaistom Nana exclaid.
He and Saccho Kobayakawa were close friends; he knew his abilities.
He was a skilled investigator and a strong fighter.
Yet, he’d lost contact before transmitting any information!
Shortly after losing contact with Saccho Kobayakawa, the Association received intel from a Hunter at the border.
Over fifty Hunters had entered the area in the past month, but none had left.
They were likely dead.
Including Hunters, over one hundred individuals, so Nen users without licenses, and others with considerable combat strength, had entered the area, all presud dead, with little information erging.
While reviewing the entry list, Ging saw Kite’s na.
The other Zodiacs gathered around.
"Kite, your apprentice. Ging, can you contact him?"
A phone rang. Cheadle answered under everyone’s gaze.
"My na is Killua Zoldyck. I passed the Hunter Exam this year. I have important information for the Association."
The na Zoldyck caused the Zodiacs to frown.
"I’m Cheadle, currently acting Chairman. Tell the information."
Killua, seemingly recalling the Zodiacs, imdiately began speaking.
"Chira Ants, comparable in size to humans, have landed, and..."
"They can use Nen like humans."
Cheadle, after hanging up, looked at the others with a grave expression.
"You heard that!" she said, her voice heavy. "Chira Ants can use Nen!!"
A normal creature invasion wouldn’t warrant such concern, but creatures wielding Nen changed everything.
Pyon stood up from her computer.
