The resulting destruction, though not a direct attack but a pure Nen shockwave, was terrifying. The room was wrecked as if hit by a powerful bomb.
The instant the Nen erupted, the entire ship shook violently. Sleeping examinees woke up.
"What was that?"
"What happened? Did the ship crash?"
At this altitude, any accident would be fatal.
In his room, Hisoka, building a card tower, looks up at the collapsed structure. He turns toward the Nen explosion, his eyes filled with shock and excitent.
Giggle giggle giggle...
Illumi, in his altered form, turns to Hisoka. Hisoka’s killing intent explodes.
The examiners—Satotz, nchi, and Buhara—look at each other, puzzled.
"Was that... the Chairman?" Buhara asks uncertainly.
nchi nods. "It must be. But why would the Chairman use Nen on the ship? Did he encounter a powerful opponent?"
"Opponent?" Satotz laughs. "Don’t be ridiculous. That monster has no opponents!"
"Should we go check?" Buhara suggests.
They agree.
In the gym, Gon lies unconscious in a corner, with minor injuries. Loki is embedded in the ground. The Nen shockwave’s impact on Loki was far stronger than on Gon. He was too close to Netero and completely overwheld by the Nen. Small wounds cover his body.
Netero lands, looks at Gon, then approaches Loki. ’Damn it. I was too hasty and didn’t control my Nen. At that distance... this kid might...’
Loki, embedded in the ground, is losing consciousness. Every bone feels broken, excruciating pain overwhelming him.
’Nen...’
’This is the power of Nen!’
Loki now understands Nen’s power. A non-Nen user is as fragile as paper against a Nen user. The shockwave felt like being hit head-on by a speeding truck.
Loki, dazed, doesn’t notice sothing else. As Netero’s Nen flowed into his body, causing terrible damage, it also opened all his aura nodes!
Netero approaches to help Loki.
Boom!
A powerful wave of Nen erupts from Loki. Waves of Nen surge outward.
Netero jumps back, eyes wide. ’Was this caused by my Nen opening his aura nodes and awakening his Nen?’
Loki’s Nen spreads rapidly, nearing Gon. Netero grabs Gon and rushes to the door.
Boom!
Another explosion rocks the room. Cracks spread across the walls.
"Chairman!"
"Chairman Netero, are you alright?"
nchi, Buhara, and Satotz arrive, seeing Netero carrying Gon. An invisible wave emanates from the room, spreading across the ship. Every staff mber and examinee is enveloped.
"What is this?!"
nchi and the others stop, staring at the room. They’re sweating, shocked, and amazed. They see Netero, aning the Nen isn’t from him. Who has such terrifying Nen...?
Satotz stamrs. "Chair... Chairman, in there..."
Netero puts Gon on a sofa. He scratches his head, sighing. "I seem to have made a ss."
"Chairman, what happened? What did you do?" nchi asks, puzzled. A Hunter Association Chairman, with his monstrous power, shouldn’t be afraid of anything!
The Nen waves continue, but are weaker than before. Netero looks at Loki’s room. "I seem to have accidentally forced soone to awaken their Nen!"
The three examiners are stunned. Satotz’s eyebrows twitch. Forcibly awakening Nen is risky. Almost all who awaken Nen this way can’t control their Nen and die.
They’re even more surprised that soone who just awakened Nen could unleash such a powerful Nen wave. They thought Netero was fighting a powerful Nen user! It was soone who just awakened Nen!
’Such power upon awakening! What terrifying talent!’ Buhara thinks back to his own Nen training. Even now, he can only reach that level with his full power.
Satotz and nchi are curious about the person who caused this.
Netero is worried. Awakening Nen is easy, but if he doesn’t help Loki control his Nen, Loki will die.
He approaches Loki’s room, followed by the examiners.
"Chairman, can you seal the opened aura nodes?" nchi asks.
Netero hesitates. "Let’s see."
The closer they get, the stronger the Nen. It’s like moving through water. The resistance increases near the door. They use their Nen to withstand the waves.
