Arthur left not too long after finishing up his conversation with Alex.
Alex remained in bed as he pondered on what Arthur had told him.
He understood well now that Fatima had attacked him and Douglas precisely because of their werewolf bloodline.
Emily was barely touched since she was normal.
Alex felt relieved knowing that Emily would no longer be involved in matters of the supernatural once he left.
Sighing heavily, he wondered where Douglas could be.
If he wanted to learn more about who Fatima was and what she wanted their bloodline for, Douglas was the safest bet on getting that information.
Of course, Alex didn’t plan to prolong his mission any longer just to satisfy his curiosity.
While stretching in preparation for an intense workout session, he decided to first leave for the countryside to pick up Emily and bring her back.
He would have sent a telegram for her to co back but didn’t feel it right to do so.
"Hah, I guess I’ll be leaving tomorrow then." He remarked as he laid back in bed and closed his eyes.
Though healed, Alex was still fatigued.
For the ti being, he planned to rest.
Tomorrow will be a long day after all.

"A concoction," Natasha remarked as she surveyed the banquet hall with her spirituality.
Currently, the area was swarming with Enforcers with a few nobles being carried on stretchers.
Ambrose walked over to her while muttering. "How did this happen?"
"I have no idea. There was no way an attack of supernatural proportions would have happened here and we wouldn’t have found out about it, unless..."
"Unless an enchantnt was used."
"Yeah."
"Damn it." Ambrose cursed. "Are there any dead bodies?"
Natasha nodded. "The concoction used was a bit too strong so older people were not able to handle it and died in their sleep."
"How many?"
"6. All of whom are prominent mbers of their respective families."
Ambrose could feel a headache coming on as he massaged his temples.
He couldn’t even shout since he could only bla himself.
BoneHaven was growing more dangerous by the day and at this point, all he could do was react to what happened.
"Have you scoped out the area?"
"Yeah. The person that released the concoction was a Mystic of the Devil Wheel based on the Yin aura I detected. Unfortunately, her body’s gone. From the cracks on the ground outside and the accompanying foul sll, I can assu a monster was used, placing the Mystic close to the 5th Lock."
"And?" Ambrose chided. "Who was she fighting?"
"I have no idea. There are faint traces of another Devil Wheel Mystic and most likely a Monster Wheel Mystic on the scene."
"So, 3 unregistered Mystics sohow found their way into BoneHaven and even infiltrated the Central district. For what purpose?"
"I can’t be sure, Sir. It does look like the concoction was used to take out the nobles while the Mystics fought in the garden so most likely..."
"They weren’t targeting the nobles?"
"They may have been fighting amongst themselves."
"I see." Ambrose pondered for a mont before he asked. "Have the others spoken with the maids in the house?... Is there anything missing from the Goldbergs vault?"
"Nothing."
"So not theft?" Ambrose groaned. "Yet another problem with the culprits responsible having unknown motives. What the hell makes BoneHaven so special?"
Natasha cleared her throat at the side but made no effort to speak.
She understood the Captain’s feelings since she also questioned why BoneHaven suddenly beca so lively.
At this point, it was from one problem to the next with the previous problem still unsolved.
Taking a mont to calm his nerves, Ambrose inquired yet again. "What about the Goldbergs?... Are they saying anything?"
"Not yet. They are still in shock considering the incident happened in their ho and what’s more..."
"There’s more?" Ambrose raised a brow.
Natasha coughed awkwardly before replying. "It would seem Oliver Goldberg has lost his mind."
"This..."

By the ti Nadia ca to, the Nighteye was high up in the sky, bathing Eventide in its serene whiteness.
Nadia blinked a few tis before glancing at the clock placed on the wall.
Noting the ti to be closing in on 8 PM, she slowly sat up while massaging her temples.
"Ugh." She groaned as she felt a little headache coming on.
Taking a deep breath, she noticed her skin had taken on a lighter shade in a few areas, especially around her arms.
Recalling the near-death experience she had in the Goldbergs’ manor, she couldn’t help but sigh exasperatedly.
"This is what Alex has to experience..." she muttered as the fear that held her then returned in a wave.
Nadia found herself trembling sowhat before managing to calm her nerves.
It was quite terrifying but it gave her more impetus to help him.
Without a doubt, she had made the right choice to beco a Mystic and support him.
Maybe now, she may not have the strength to make much of a difference but soon enough, she would make sure that no harm ca to him.
With that, she made a rough estimate of how long it would take her to complete her trial.
She hoped it wouldn’t take too long.
Thud
Nadia glanced at the window at the strange sound that echoed only to discover a stone with a piece of paper attached to it.
Furrowing her brows, she went ahead to activate her spirituality to inspect the stone.
It was an ordinary rock.
As she pursed her lips, she got out of bed and walked over to the balcony before looking over, however, no one was there.
Turning to the rock, Nadia slowly made her way toward it before crouching to pick it up.
Carefully separating the rock from the piece of paper, she went ahead to unfurl the paper before reading its contents.
The more she read, the more her expression changed and by the ti she was done, a beautiful smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
"Alright then." She muttered softly.
