It was a while before Nina noticed Shizuku standing quietly behind Kaizen.

"Who’s this?"

Nina looked at Shizuku with curiosity.

"This is Shizuku," Kaizen introduced. "She’ll be a future mber of our team."

"Hello, Sister Shizuku! I’m Nina."

"Hi."

Shizuku reached out her hand, and Nina shook it.

Then Shizuku pulled a small notebook from her pocket, writing down Nina’s na and sketching a quick picture beside it. She even added a small drawing of a white bear on the side.

"Brother, what’s this?" Nina asked.

Kaizen tapped his temple. "Shizuku has a bit of a mory issue. Sotis she forgets things that happen in the short term, so this helps her rember."

"Oh, I see."

Nina took Shizuku’s hand and led her inside.

Bang! Kaizen shut the door behind him.

"Nina, tell what’s been happening while I was away."

"Sure thing, brother," Nina responded eagerly. "I’ve developed a new ability!"

With a quick gesture, Nina looked over at the polar bear beside her.

"Watch this," she said, concentrating.

"Woof!" ca the deep growl of the bear, surprisingly echoing her command. At that mont, Kaizen observed an aura forming around the bear—a mass of Nina’s energy latching onto it.

The bear moved as if under her control.

"That’s my ability," Nina explained. "When I activate it, I say sothing, and if the person or creature repeats it within a certain ti, I can control them."

Kaizen’s brow furrowed slightly. He had to admit, her ability was both strange and powerful. Ordinary people wouldn’t see it coming.

According to the principles of restrictions and vows, the tougher the restrictions, the stronger the boost to one’s ability. Just like Chrollo’s Skill Hunter—its conditions for use were strict, but fulfilling them allowed him to steal others’ abilities entirely, leaving them powerless.

With Nen, having multiple abilities was always advantageous, though most could only master a few due to limited talent or energy. Only soone like Netero, who lived over a century, could develop nurous skills, though even he wasn’t an expert in every type of Nen.

Chrollo, on the other hand, could gather abilities using Skill Hunter, without having to develop or train them himself, even if there were minor inconveniences in using them. Kaizen, too, could create different Nen beasts by observing various elents of the world around him. Though he couldn’t directly steal abilities, his thod allowed for greater versatility once the beasts were ford.

Ging Freecss’s power was also similar. By taking in the opponent’s aura, he could instantly copy their abilities. In terms of potential, Kaizen, Chrollo, and Ging all had unique advantages, though Ging currently stood out as the strongest among them. Kaizen was the least experienced, yet he still held the potential to surpass Ging. As for Chrollo, overtaking Ging would be no small feat.

Kaizen reflected on this, feeling a trace of pride. He carried the blood of the Zoldyck lineage, granting him a unique edge. Unlike Chrollo, whose talent wasn’t tied to any special lineage, Kaizen also possessed the mories of a ti traveler.

"Your ability is impressive," Kaizen praised. "But it’s better not to use it too often. If people start to figure it out, it’ll lose its effectiveness. I suggest developing a second ability for regular use, and saving this one for critical monts."

Nina nodded. "Yes, brother. I understand."

Kaizen added, "Until you have a second ability, try using the bear’s reactions to mask your power. It’ll confuse anyone observing, making them think your ability is just to control the bear."

"Good idea!"

Since Polar Bear had been with Nina for so long, it naturally followed her commands, creating a deep bond and understanding between them. Outsiders who didn’t know about Nina’s power would likely assu she could only control the bear.

"By the way, brother, there’s sothing else I need to tell you."

"What’s that?"

"Carlisle’s back."

"Carlisle?" Kaizen tensed for a mont before the na registered.

Of course he rembered Carlisle—Nina’s father and the one responsible for turning her and Polar Bear into "synthetic beasts." Kaizen’s dislike for Carlisle was deep-rooted.

Because of what Carlisle had done, Nina no longer thought of him as her father, calling him by his na instead. The mories of her past left a bitter impression.

"I thought he’d lost his privileges to stay in Heavens Arena?"

"He has," Nina said, "but he’s here as a spectator. I ran into him after one of my matches. He wanted to go with him, but I refused."

Kaizen’s eyes narrowed.

"Is he still around?"

"I think so," Nina replied. "I saw him yesterday. He seed determined to take , and I can feel his intentions aren’t good."

For the first ti, Nina’s old sadness toward Carlisle had shifted into disgust. She had once felt indifferent, treating him as a stranger, but this new approach made her uncomfortable.

"I’ll keep an eye on him for now," Kaizen murmured, his mind already working on a plan.
