Chapter 44
Rulo groaned in pain, blinking in shock as his head spun from the impact. His ears rang, and for a mont, the world tilted sideways. He froze when Kaizen pulled his palm away from his face, and he could finally see who had just attacked him.
What in the world? That can’t be, no way did that just happen. Rulo remained on the floor, his nose stained with blood as he stared wide eyed at Kaizen who hovered above him.
"H—how? What just happened? You...your speed, how?" Rulo groaned out, barely able to keep himself awake because of how hard he had hit his head.
"Rulo." Kaizen called his na, leaning down as his cold gaze bore into Rulo’s eyes.
"The next ti you see , mind your God damn business, ignore ...go the other fucking way. Stay far away from . Because the next ti this happens again, it wouldn’t end with just this, your head would have snapped off your body if I hadn’t held back in the last mont. I’m not the sa boy you once knew, so be careful...this would be the only ti I warn you, the next ti you challenge , soone would end up dead, and it most definitely wouldn’t be . Don’t test my patience next ti." Those were the most words Kaizen had ever spoked to Rulo, and it was extrely satisfying.
After so many long years, he finally got a chance to fight back, but still...he didn’t want to overdo it. If he decided to satisfy himself and get his revenge for so many years of bullying, this would have ended a lot differently. Infact, no one would be able to recognize his damn face when he was done.
Rulo was dumbfounded, and mostly...fear, real fear had taken over him. What had Kaizen beco...and why did his body feel powerless against whatever power Kaizen now weilded. It was like an involuntary submission, like he’d been hypnotized by sothing. Because, all he did was just nod in response to all Kaizen had said.
When Kaizen noticed Rulo wasn’t retaliating or trying to reply, he quietly stood back up and walked away, leaving Rulo’s head still half buried in the dirt.
He can help himself up, son of a bitch.

In the Capital
"The search has yielded nothing. The child can’t be found anywhere. It’s like it doesn’t even exist," one of the ministers said, his tone sharp with frustration. "I feel like sothing is wrong sowhere. There’s sothing we’re missing."
A large eting was being held in the capital, inside the grand hall. The top ministers from all four realms were present. It was rare to see them gathered like this, it only ant sothing serious had to be going on.
They were discussing the recent events tied to the appearance of the blood moon. A sign that couldn’t be ignored.
"The major problem is that we don’t know where to even start looking. Back then, our ancestors always focused their search on a specific realm. It was easier for them because they could sense the child’s power and trace it," one of the older ministers explained. "But now? We have no way to do that. The power is completely gone. Is that even possible?"
There were over twenty ministers seated around the room, all on low soft cushions placed in a circle. So spoke, others just listened , but everyone looked troubled.
"What if the baby already died?" a voice spoke up from the back.
A few turned to look at the man who said it.
"Now that makes sense," another one added. "That would explain why we can mo longer sense even a bit of that power. If the child died after it was born, the mana would’ve faded too."
The power of the five elent wielder wasn’t sothing that could be hidden. Even as a newborn, the child’s mana would leak through. That kind of power was too wild to suppress. Anyone born with it only grew stronger with ti, and by the age of eighteen, they were supposed to reach their their peak, they beco unstoppable at this stage.
If the child really was alive... then why couldn’t anyone feel it?
"We should let the rulers decide how we move forward," one minister said. "It’s been years since we had a joined eting. And the date is already set. It’s just two days from now. Let’s wait till then to bring this up officially."
There were a few nods.
But then the main minister, the one who called the eting cleared his throat.
"That’s not the only reason I gathered you all here," he said.
The room quieted.
"I received a request from Black Veil. They’re asking for a Void rank hunter."
The entire hall went still.
So ministers frowned. Others exchanged confused glances.
"You’re joking," one of them said, clearly shocked. "How dare they? Don’t they know who Void hunters answer to?"
"It’s not a joke," the main minister replied. "And I know how it sounds, but the situation is serious. There’s a beast on the loose. They call it an elf, a dark elf."
That got a reaction.
"She has the ability to control portals at will," he continued. "She drags hunters into her world... and once they’re in, she becos untouchable. It’s her domain, and in there, she’s a different kind of monster. She controls everything. The rules. The space. The energy."
He paused.
"She doesn’t just kill, she enjoys it. She’s toying with everyone. Said she won’t stop until she finds soone strong enough to put up a real fight."
The weight of his words settled across the room. So of the ministers who had been quiet finally spoke.
"This... sounds bad."
"It is. And it’s getting worse. If we don’t do sothing, she’ll keep killing every hunter we send."
"So... say the rulers approve. Even if we agree to send soone... who exactly are you planning to offer up from the Void ranks?"
The minister hesitated, just for a mont. Then he said it.
"I know the Ice King would permit it if I ask personally. And I already have soone in mind."
It took them a few seconds to realize who he was talking about.
"You an..."
"Yes. It’s who you’re thinking."
A few ministers shifted uncomfortably in their seats.
"But how do you plan to persuade him?" one of them asked. "He’s not the type to listen. He doesn’t care about ranks or orders."
"He’s stubborn, yes," the minister admitted. "But if there’s anyone who can deal with that dark elf, it’s him."
Another minister scoffed under his breath. "We should be more worried about what happens after. That boy isn’t normal. He’s dangerous. Letting him off the leash might fix one problem... but create another."
"He’s not soone you control," soone else added. "You point him at the target and hope he doesn’t turn around."
The room went quiet again.
Then the main minister spoke once more, voice low.
"I know the risk. But at this point... we don’t have many options. We need a monster to fight a monster."
