Chapter 36- Temple (Part 3)

The entire place was subrged in a sea of Essence so thick that it could almost be seen with the naked eye. A normal person would instantly feel like they were getting crushed under the imnse spiritual pressure exuded from both sides.

Zen didn’t realize it till that point, but Garn and the rest of the wood folks were extrely powerful. If he had to compare them to Hunters, they would be at least C or B-Rank hunters. The chief himself could even be an A-Rank hunter.

’As for the Nar Hunters.’ Zen frowned upon trying to sense their aura. ’They’re strong... Very strong.’ Zen thought to himself. ’Especially their leader, he is a particularly big problem.’

Judging from his face, Zen could recall seeing him before. However, he wasn’t a particularly important Hunter since there are literally hundreds of thousands of Hunters at his power level. Zen only rembers those who had a particularly important mark on the world. That man was not one of them, which confused him.

’If he truly was able to retrieve this powerful rune, I would’ve heard the news. Hmm, did they fail in the original tiline?’ Zen frowned. ’Or...’

As those thoughts settled within his mind, the Nar Hunter smiled. "Chief, you are truly doing sothing foolish by trying to fight us. We ca here with peace, and you chose violence? That doesn’t represent what your peaceful kind are, chief."

His words were laced with mockery and disdain. Any idiot could tell that he was trying to anger the chief and get on his nerves. However, the old man wasn’t going to fall for that so easily, as he simply channeled his energy.

"Our people will never hesitate to use violence when needed. That is a part of peace." He said as he suddenly slamd his hands into the ground. The mont he did, several tree branches manifested underground as they pierced through the soil, creating large waves of moving wood rushing toward the group of Hunters.

They all watched as the wave grew to several feet long as it completely ripped the ground apart.

"Move." The hunter said coldly as he disappeared from sight. His team separated as they rushed from every angle to attack the Wood Folks.

The rest of the Wood Folks channeled their energy and attacked. Their limbs and other body parts were reshaped and molded to form all kinds of weapons.

The two sides clashed violently as waves of energy radiated in every direction. Zen and Cipha felt their bodies being pushed back from the sheer power of the impact.

"What the hell?!" Zen grabbed into Cipha and held the tree branch as he stared up. His hair being rustled by the pure energy being exuded from both sides. Flashing lights filled his eyes as both sides used their runes without hesitation.

For a normal person, they wouldn’t even be able to see what was happening, let alone understand it.

"Cipha, are you ok?" He asked coldly as he kept an eye on the fight. "They’re already going at it."

"What should we do?" Cipha asked. "We can’t let these hunters get their hands on the rune no matter what."

"I know," Zen said. "We can’t reveal ourselves yet either. We are definitely far weaker than everyone there. We need to use the fact that they don’t know we’re here to our advantage."

Zen knew that the elent of surprise, especially in a brutal battle like the one happening before his eyes, would be a huge factor in who wins and who loses.

’If we have to attack, we must deal as much damage as possible, and the best target is that bastard.’ Zen clenched his teeth as he watched the scene.

The Nar leader leaped into the air as he started running on the waves of wood with ease. His speed was horrifying, to say the least. Closing the distance with the chief, he suddenly lifted his hand in the air as fire ignited in his hand. It was of an odd, vibrant green that lit up the entire area.

Then, he leaped in the air as he slamd his fist down. The fire blew directly toward the chief.

"Sorry if it burns."

The chief stared directly at the fire with his cold eyes before he suddenly lifted his arms up. Instantly, a large wooden wall ford before him, two ters thick.

*BOOOOOOM*

The fire slamd into the wood violently, dispersing everywhere as it left behind a deep, burning trace in the wood. The sheer blast of the attack sent everyone around them flying.

"Woah!!!"

"Boss! Be careful! We are going to die!"

"Get out of the chief’s way!"

The Wood Folks and the hunters alike felt the threat looming around them if they remained within the vicinity of the battle. Those two were simply far stronger than them.

Landing on the ground, the Nar leader smiled as he stared at the large hole left in the wooden wall.

’He is definitely very susceptible to fire. It’s your unlucky day that I ca to visit your shithole.’ He licked his lips wickedly. ’I will make sure to enjoy burning every single one of you tree fucks before taking the rune.’

His bloodlust flashed in his eyes as he ignited the fire around him again. "Good job, chief. I’ve heard things about your past achievents in your pri. I guess Gold never rusts."

"Shut your mouth, human." The chief said as suddenly, a large spike ford from the wall and flew toward the hunter at horrifying speeds. Instantly, he reacted and side-stepped it. At the sa ti, several other spikes launched toward him.

Using his flexible body, he dashed to the side, dodging everyone as it stabbed the ground, leaving a deep hole behind. Running circles around the chief, he threw several fireballs toward him.

Each one burnt a hole in the wall with ease. The fire was extrely potent and strong, and the chief imdiately noticed that.

’Using their divine fire. It is far stronger than normal fire. I can’t let him get close.’ The chief thought to himself as he stabbed his hands into the ground, creating another wave, even larger than the one before.

Using a big chunk of essence, he created havoc in the entire area. The ground split open as the branches sank and rose violently. An attack like that would eradicate anything within its vicinity with ease.

However, to the Hunter, he simply smiled as he suddenly clasped his hands together. Within them, the fire ford in a compact manner. It ignited violently before he blasted it all into the wood wave.

*BANG*

The two walls clashed violently. The fire burnt the wood, and the wood ate the fire. The two sides fought brutally.

"Hahaha, you are sothing else, chief. I have never t a Wood user as strong as you. But, you have forgotten one key thing." He said. "Wood is just fuel to the fire."

The mont he said that, the green fire suddenly lit up brightly and started consuming the wood rapidly.

"Hm?" The chief felt the shift. ’What is happening?’

In seconds, the branches were burnt into ashes as the chief was pressed back. He didn’t understand what had changed so quickly, but it was as if the fire had suddenly gained consciousness.

His wood was being consud rapidly.
