"Yes vice supre leader. We will make sure that we succeed in this mission." Everyone present in the room got on their feet, and said with resolution in their voices.
After they said that, one of them took the mirage crystal and the group left the room that they were discussing in. This room was of course under Antonio Phillips.
After everyone left, Antonio leaned back on the seat that he was seated on. He was currently distressed. After all, everything had been going against him ever since the ti that he realized that he was going to be capable of centing his position in the organization.
At that ti, there was Yona, the guy that he had sent over first to go and bring nothing back, before he was killed, who had co to inform him of a piece of information that he had been looking for.
He was also the one that had inford him about Nathan, and due to that, he had thought that it was only right that Yona went ahead and brought Nathan to the stronghold. By doing that, he will be promoted and will be given much more resources to improve himself.
But in the end, Antonio did not know what happened, nonetheless, Yona had died during the trip that he had gone out. It was supposed to be an easy task, but in the end, it ended up costing his life.
Even though it was true that Yona was not that important in the organization, but still, Antonio cared a little about him. After all, he had done sothing, even though it was just by coincidence, it was sothing that had helped him a lot.
And when Eric went over, he ended up dying. And, this ti, they ca to know that the reason for that was simply because of a guardian of the Butterfly organization.
Of course, Antonio did not believe that a guardian of the butterfly organization was actually capable of dealing with Eric. There had to be sothing that was being hidden, trying to cause them trouble.
'I guess, I will have to hold on until we finally find what we are looking for. When that ti reaches, I'm pretty sure that we will be able to dominate the entire stronghold. And with that, the sacrifice of a mirage crystal will be nothing. I'm sure that I will be able to get even more in the future.
As for what is going on now, I just hope that bad luck does not co our way once again. We have already lost twice, and I'm not ready to lose anything else. After all, if they lose this ti, then, the mirage crystal that I have been given by the supre leader will be gone as well.' Antonio thought to himself.
At this mont, the door opened and Patricia walked in. When he saw her, Antonio finally stopped thinking about the matter. As a vice supre leader of the entire organization, he had to ensure that he kept up an authoritative front. In that way, he would be able to command respect.
"It seems that you are stressed up about sothing." Patricia said as she went ahead and sat beside him.
"Yeah. I don't know why, but I have been feeling that, everything that I do, is going to fail. And, with every failure, then, there are going to be nurous losses that are going to continuously shake my position in the organization." Antonio replied.
"That is quite normal, you know. This is life, and we have to experience trouble every now and again. We are not the only ones present in the entire world, and, we cannot expect everything to always go our way." Patricia said.
Antonio remained silent as he looked at Patricia. He was slightly surprised that she was actually going to try and talk to him about sothing like this. After all, normally she would simply co over, present the report that she has, and after that, leave.
But now, it seed that she wanted to have a chat with him. Either way, Antonio looked at Patricia and said seriously, "You should know that my response until now has not changed. This is not sothing that can be changed even if we have a long conversation, and chat like we used to do several years ago."
Patricia rolled her eyes at Antonio when she heard that. The two of them had actually joined the organization together, and they have been working hard to be able to reach the positions that they were holding now.
But of course, there was always soone who was better, either in terms of luck, or abilities. And, Antonio was able to surpass her in terms of luck and capabilities. That was the reason he had been selected to take over the position of the vice supre leader of the organization.
As for her, with the abilities that she possessed, she was only able to take over the position that she currently holds after a long period of hard work. In fact, had it not been for the help that she had received from Antonio, then, she would not actually be capable of standing tall in the organization.
Even though she was considered a logistics mber of the organization, she played an important role as well. With the capabilities of monitoring the life force of all the mbers of the organization, in case there was an accident anywhere, then, she was required to report as soon as possible.
And if she delayed, then, she might actually cause the entire organization to suffer innurable losses. So, the role that she played in the organization was not to be underestimated at all.
More than that, she also possessed an ability that enabled her to do work well. She was capable of knowing the cause of the death of a mber of the organization as long as they had interacted before.
That was why the supre leader of the organization always valued her as well. And during the ti that she had been recomnded by Antonio, the supre leader had actually given her a lot of resources that enabled her to reach the sa level in terms of strength as the guardians of the organization, at level 8.
"I'm not here to talk about that. And please, if you don't want to continue listening to , you can just go ahead and tell so. The only reason as to why I ca over is to simply know how you are doing. After all, you have been stressed up recently, and the pressure that you are facing from the opposing factions has also increased." Patricia said in a dissatisfied voice.
Antonio simply chuckled at that. It seed that he had not spent a lot of ti with Patricia that he had actually forgotten about how she usually behaved.
"I'm sorry about that. But, as of late, I have been much involved in the matter of the organization, and trying to look for ways to cent my position here. But, for that reason, I have not been able to spend ti with you like we always did during the years way back." Antonio said with a bitter smile on his face.
"Sigh!" Patricia sighed. She has never blad Antonio about the matter. She knew that, currently, Antonio was holding a very important position in the organization, and was required to be busy almost every ti. It was just that, she was also feeling uncomfortable by the fact that, there was a gap that was forming between the two of them.
Before they ca to hold the positions that they currently were, they used to spend a lot of ti together. In fact, it had begun long ti ago before they ca to know about the existence of the strongholds.
They had gone to the sa school, they lived in the sa neighborhood, and their parents were also friends. At school, by coincidence or not, they were actually classmates. This went on until high school, when a tragedy suddenly occurred.
At that ti, they had gone to school. But, suddenly, their community was attacked by terrorists who went ahead and killed several people. In the end, amongst the people that had died, their parents were also victims.
Of course, this had completely devastated them. With nobody to take care of them anymore, they could only depend on themselves. And by a lucky encounter, they were able to co across a person that had co over trying to scout people that could be recruited into their organizations.
Consequently, that person took them to the stronghold, and, told them that, if they perford well, then, they would be given resources. They were not sure about what that person had seen in them, but, nonetheless, they always worked hard, and, they were promoted.
It was just that, their benefactor had passed away a few years after he had brought them over to the stronghold. He was killed by the invaders.
As for his last wish, it was that, they were not supposed to take revenge on those that had killed their parents. After all, the people themselves had already been killed, but, since that was the case, Antonio and Patricia were actually planning on dealing with their families.
Their benefactor said that, the humans were currently in peril. So, no matter what, they had to ensure that the number of deaths was as low as possible.
Otherwise, if the people from the stronghold began going back to the normal countries and killing the other people, then, there was no doubt that if the strongholds were defeated, then, there would be no chance of the survival of the humankind.
Being reminded of the ti that they had spent together, Antonio finally relaxed his body a little. Forgetting about his position, he began chatting with Patricia, laughing from ti to ti.
With that, the loads of stress that were in his mind suddenly began being forgotten. But, the worries in his heart could not diminish no matter what.
