Under the cover of the dark night, two figures, one tall and one short, followed closely behind the three people in front, barely concealing themselves.

The ground that once appeared flat now seed uneven, filled with pits and holes. One could easily stumble if not careful.

"Are they still following us?" The woman had already forgotten how many tis she had asked, clearly feeling uneasy about their companion.

"Yes, they are. The sound of them dragging the instant noodle bag is so loud; you can hear it from far away."

"But I can't hear anything."

"Well, we have different abilities. Senior, you have a combat-oriented skill set, which is incomparably superior to my so-called 'good ears.' The saying goes, 'kill a person at ten steps, travel a thousand miles without leaving a trace, swift as the wind, with clothes fluttering...'" The male student's voice beca increasingly flattering.

"Enough, can't you use other words to flatter ?"

"Junior brother is simple and tongue-tied, not as knowledgeable as Senior sister with her rich learning, well-versed in various subjects..."

"Shut up!"

"Yes, yes..."

"Are they still following us?"

"..."

"I'm asking you!"

"It seems... there's no sound anymore..."

"Damn it! You talked too much!"

The female student scolded in a low voice and hurriedly picked up the pace, seemingly floating with each step, covering great distances, just as previously described, swift as the wind, with clothes fluttering.

Seeing this, the male student also hastened to run, still complinting along the way, "Senior sister, you're so skilled... wait for ..."

After chasing for a while, the female student stopped and waited for her companion to catch up. Frowning, she said, "It's impossible; they're dragging such heavy things. They can't be moving this fast."

"Yeah, you're right," the male student panted, agreeing.

"Did you hear anything?"

"Let catch my breath, I'm not as capable as you..."

"Shut up!"

"Okay, okay."

"Could they have gone into the grassland?"

"I'll listen for a mont."

However, before the male student could calm down, two figures suddenly rushed out from the side and pounced on them.

"Uh-oh, run!"

"Okay, okay!"

...

Chen Mu and Wei Dalei had already been lying in ambush for a long ti. After tossing the instant noodle bag into the deep green area on the side of the road, they lay flat on the ground.

The terrain here was particularly undulating, and under the dim moonlight, as long as they remained still, even if soone's gaze passed over them, they wouldn't be noticed.

It was only when the other two individuals ca into their range that Chen Mu rushed out first, while Wei Dalei took the lead, wielding a wolf-tooth club and charging straight towards the male student.

According to Chen Mu's previous arrangent, they were prepared to incapacitate one of the opponents first and capture the other to find out their true intentions.

Without knowing the other party's abilities, they could only assu that the male student was slightly more powerful and had Wei Dalei deal with him.

However, when it ca to the critical mont, Chen Mu learned from the conversation that the male student wasn't a combat-type ability user; instead, it seed that the female student had so skills.

But judging from the fact that the first reaction of the male student was to run away, it was evident that he wasn't too formidable either.

"Old Wei, don't kill him!"

Wei Dalei rushed halfway and saw the opponent escaping skillfully, a movent so adept that it softened his hostility.

Chen Mu's stainless steel weapon turned into a long stick and thrust forward, confident of securing a hit.

But unexpectedly, the opponent's speed far exceeded his imagination, and the person seed to float in the air, instantly retreating a considerable distance.

The long stick missed its mark.

At this mont, Wei Dalei had easily caught up to the male student and used his leg to trip him, making him tumble on the ground for several rounds.

Before the man's body ca to a stop, he tearfully begged, "Don't kill , don't kill , it's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding..."

The female student managed to dodge Chen Mu's attack, but it also frightened her, leaving her drenched in cold sweat. She secretly felt fortunate that she didn't attempt a head-on confrontation with the opponent. Even if it was just one strike face to face, she wouldn't have been able to escape from that blow.

Her fighting spirit had long vanished, and she only wanted to escape quickly. Seeing her companion on the ground, she leaped over and reached out to help him up.

However, Wei Dalei was nearby and, seeing a figure suddenly floating towards them, he instinctively swung the club.

If this strike connected...

It would result in severe injury or death.

However, the female student's movents were extrely agile. When she saw Wei Dalei's club approaching, she quickly stepped back and then returned to help the male student up.

Although Wei Dalei was strong, the inertia of the wolf-tooth club made it less nimble. By the ti he stopped the strike, both of the opponents had already stood up and turned to escape.

Unfortunately, Chen Mu had been closely chasing after the female student from the beginning. While he wasn't as fast as her, she wasted a lot of ti helping the male student and avoiding Wei Dalei.

By the ti they stood up, Chen Mu had even co ahead of them, blocking their way.

The female student didn't give up; she pulled her companion and tried to break through to the side.

Chen Mu swung the long stick in his hand.

This ti, his target was the female student's ankle.

She reacted swiftly, pushing her companion away while leaping up herself, seemingly nimble enough to evade Chen Mu's strike.

However, what she didn't expect was that the seemingly tallic stick suddenly twisted in mid-air, like a whip, wrapping around her left ankle.

She tried to dodge again, but it was already too late.

After being entangled, the female student quickly bounced back to the ground, trying to use her other foot to step on the "whip" and break free.

However, as she stepped on it, she clearly felt its hardness.

She was partly puzzled and partly surprised.

Before she could make the next move, Chen Mu reached out and pulled, causing her to lose her balance and fall.

However, what surprised Chen Mu was that even in this situation, the other party hadn't given up. She was still struggling desperately, and despite losing her balance, she maintained an impressive sense of equilibrium. Instead of falling imdiately, she followed Chen Mu's movents and lunged forward, seemingly trying to engage in close combat.

Unfortunately, Chen Mu's "whip" wasn't a real one. He reached out and pushed it forward, causing the female student to lose her balance once again and fall to the ground.

However, at the mont of impact with the ground, she managed to support herself with one hand, avoiding a more embarrassing fall.

Chen Mu quickly bound her hands and feet with the iron stick, finally bringing her to a stop.

"Big brother, let's talk it out. We are good people..." The male student who had been pushed away at the beginning now crawled over, full of fear, and pleaded desperately, almost kneeling.

"Hey, no one said we would harm you. It's you guys who were secretly following us," Wei Dalei couldn't stand the other party's behavior.

"Yes, yes, yes, we are good people. Good people don't make things difficult for other good people. It's all a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding..."

Clearly, this male student had not relaxed his guard and continued to bow and plead towards the two of them, repeating those few sentences, though nervously and incoherently.

At the critical mont of life and death, not many people can maintain their composure.

Yet, despite clearly being terrified and trembling all over, Chen Mu saw that he still steadfastly stood in front of the female student. Sohow, he couldn't help but admire him a little.
