Chen Mu felt a chill on his back and tried hard to recall if he had ever offended Tang Jing before.

Fortunately, it seed that he hadn't.

It was still early, and after breakfast, everyone had so free ti until around 9 o'clock when they would officially start their day's work.

According to the regulations of the Qiming organization, a eting would be held every seven days to plan the tasks for the following week. Unless there were unexpected changes, each person would be assigned fixed duties.

However, there were two exceptions.

One was Chen Mu.

Due to the nature of his abilities, his tasks were often more special and had a higher degree of randomness.

The other exception was Tang Jing. She didn't need to perform any practical tasks and could arrange her ti as she pleased.

...

The two of them arrived in front of the wooden boxes once again.

Since it was too late yesterday, the 36 wooden boxes remained where they were, ready to be thoroughly examined and organized today.

Tang Jing squatted down and casually searched through the pile of potatoes on the ground. Then, she smiled.

"Did you find sothing?" Chen Mu also squatted down.

"Take a look," Tang Jing picked up two potatoes and placed them together.

Chen Mu took a glance but didn't notice anything unusual at first, only feeling that sothing was a bit off.

But soon, he was greatly surprised.

He looked at the pile of potatoes, reached out and shuffled a couple of them, and asked in bewildernt, "Are they all the sa?"

"Yes," Tang Jing nodded, "the shape, size, color, even the dents and damaged parts, they are all exactly the sa."

"Is this the power of duplication?"

Yesterday, because they were in a rush to open other wooden boxes, and the evening light was dim, nobody paid much attention to the appearance of the potatoes.

"It doesn't seem like it. Shrinking is still the key."

"But if it's just shrinking, it's unlikely to find potatoes that are completely identical."

"I have so speculations, but I'm not certain yet."

At this point, Tang Jing looked again at the girl who was still asleep.

Chen Mu noticed her gaze and asked, "Do you suspect that this person's ability is the cause?"

Tang Jing nodded, "It seems to be the most reasonable explanation so far. If this girl's ability is really capable of producing these food items, then it would make sense for Yizhong to keep her imprisoned without killing her."

"In fact, I had so doubts yesterday."

"What?"

"Even if this person's ability is indeed to shrink objects, and even if Yizhong was able to find so many potatoes, why would they shrink the food? Isn't that an unnecessary step and a waste of food?" Chen Mu inquired.

"It's not that simple..."

Tang Jing was about to explain when they heard Du Jiajia's surprised voice, "Oh, you're awake!"

Both Chen Mu and Tang Jing imdiately turned their heads.

They saw Du Jiajia holding a plate of pancakes, squatting in front of the girl's iron cage, seemingly trying to wake her up with the aroma of the food.

Unexpectedly, it worked.

Everyone hurriedly gathered around.

At first, the girl just opened her eyes and stared straight at the plate of food in Du Jiajia's hand. Then, she slowly sat up.

Perhaps due to having slept for a long ti, her body seed very weak. She supported herself with her hands on the ground, bowing her head, and it took her a while to adjust.

After she sat up straight, everyone got a clearer view of what she looked like.

This girl's figure is indeed petite to the point of being sowhat exaggerated, resembling a child. If it weren't for the school uniform fitting her perfectly, people might mistake her for an elentary school student wearing Zhiwei High School's uniform.

Although her appearance appears sowhat immature, it could pass as a first-year high school student.

Upon closer inspection, it seems that this girl is naturally small or may be suffering from malnutrition.

Perhaps due to just waking up, her gaze seed vacant at first, rely fixated on the food in Du Jiajia's hand. Later, she beca aware of the many people surrounding her. However, after casually surveying the crowd, her face showed no surprise due to the new environnt. Instead, she looked at Du Jiajia and uttered a single word:

"Hungry."

Her voice was soft and gentle, evoking a sense of pity.

Du Jiajia appeared sowhat unsure of how to respond.

After a mont,

"Oh, okay, here, have sothing to eat."

She hurriedly moved the plate closer to the girl.

As they knew nothing about this girl, they had never taken her out of the iron cage, fearing she might suddenly beco violent.

But now, seeing this fragile and tender girl, their hearts softened.

Much of their wariness dissipated.

Unable to pass anything through the narrow gaps between the iron bars, Du Jiajia could only place the plate outside the cage. The girl seed accustod to this manner and naturally reached out from inside the cage to take the pancake.

As the pancake had just been made, it still emitted a bit of warmth. She held the pancake with both hands and took a gentle bite.

"Delicious."

She said without raising her head, quietly focusing on her al.

The group felt sowhat bewildered by her response, so they exchanged glances and patiently waited for her to finish the pancake.

The girl ate slowly.

It took about ten minutes.

Before she thoroughly finished the pancake.

Then, she lifted her head, looked at Du Jiajia, and said, "Thank you."

"Hehehe... You're welco..." Du Jiajia was a bit flustered and didn't know how to respond.

After expressing her gratitude, the girl looked around at the people surrounding her, seemingly unsure of whom to talk to. Eventually, her gaze settled on Dong Junwei:

"I've finished eating. I can start working now."

Everyone was taken aback, not understanding what she ant.

From the sound of it, she seed to care only about eating, sleeping, and working, without any concern for the people around her.

Dong Junwei furrowed her brows and glanced at Tang Jing, who showed no intention of speaking. Dong Junwei then stepped forward, crouched down, and asked, "What's your na?"

"Gu Yinglang."

Her answer was straightforward, without any bargaining.

This further puzzled everyone.

Dong Junwei asked again, "Do you know us?"

The girl shook her head.

Dong Junwei continued, "Do you know where this is?"

Gu Yinglang shook her head again.

"Do you know Zhiwei High School?"

Shake of the head.

"Shangshi First High School?"

Shake of the head.

"Do you rember where you were before?" Dong Junwei inquired further.

After a mont of thought, Gu Yinglang replied, "The cafeteria."

Chen Mu and Tang Jing exchanged glances.

She didn't know Zhiwei High School but knew the cafeteria. What kind of strange logic was this?

Dong Junwei asked again, "What were you doing in the cafeteria?"

"They asked to work."

"What kind of work?" Dong Junwei frowned.

Gu Yinglang didn't answer directly but pointed to a nearby pile of potatoes.

Though they had already guessed, the revelation still surprised them.

Dong Junwei asked urgently, "Did you make those potatoes?"

"Yes," Gu Yinglang nodded.

"How did you make them?" Dong Junwei asked the question everyone was curious about.

Gu Yinglang hesitated for a mont, seemingly contemplating how to describe it. After a while, she said, "Using a big potato."
