The benefits of long-range attacks were evident. Without even getting close, the people from Yizhong were almost completely wiped out. Only one or two individuals remained, supporting a few lightly wounded ones, who fled into the distance.
However, several people were left behind.
Chen Mu didn't bother to care about them. Seeing the enemy scattered and unable to pursue, he urged everyone to continue their journey.
Due to the earlier incident, Chen Mu beca more cautious, fearing that they might be followed. He deliberately took a detour, walking a path they had not taken before. When they were about to reach the storage room, he even stopped for a while, making sure there was no one following them before proceeding towards their ho.
Wei Dalei was dragging a cart at this mont, showing no signs of anxiety.
On the other hand, Lushan Shan and Xuexu were a bit tired. They probably had never walked such a long distance continuously before.
Considering they had been on the road almost the whole day with no rest due to taking a few detours on their way back, it was now close to evening.
Back at ho.
Today, it was Zhu Hao's turn to be on duty at the watchtower. He saw a few people approaching from afar and imdiately alerted everyone. Dong Junwei and the others prepared for any potential danger.
Chen Mu had ntioned before they left that this journey might take a few days, so nobody expected them to return this early. When Zhu Hao saw the approaching figures clearly, he practically rolled and crawled out in haste.
The watchtower had been improved compared to before. The most obvious change was the installation of a smooth stainless steel pole that extended directly to the ground.
It was like a firefighter's pole, and it took Chen Mu a long ti to construct this device to make it easier for the people on duty to co down. Given the current size of humans, this was not a small engineering feat, though the difficulty wasn't substantial, just labor-intensive.
People descending from the watchtower only needed to hold sothing in their hands to avoid friction burns, and at this point, the friction force wasn't significant.
Most boys simply used their upper garnts, while girls used cotton threads from towels.
The only problem was that this height still posed a considerable psychological challenge for humans. Fortunately, after trying it several tis, even girls like Zhao Xiaoyan had beco quite adept at sliding down.
Of course, this device only made it easier to co down; climbing up was still just as challenging, and the elevator was still non-existent.
Everyone was sowhat puzzled by the arrival of Chen Mu and the others, but after going out to greet them and seeing the giant container truck, they understood what had happened.
The flatbed truck they had taken out before had already been abandoned by Chen Mu. After making sure that Wei Dalei thoroughly damaged it, he threw it into the green belt on the side of the road.
"You ca back so quickly. Where did you get this truck from?" Dong Junwei raised her head and asked in confusion.
"We snatched it," Chen Mu replied with a smile.
"Snatched it?"
"Yes, from Yizhong."
"You explored their territory so quickly?"
"No, it's just luck. Let's not talk about that now. I'll open a passage in the gate and get the truck inside."
A few minutes later, a passage large enough for the truck to pass through appeared in the gate. After Wei Dalei dragged the truck inside, everyone gathered around curiously, examining the lifelike model car.
"An Audi's simulation model?" Tang Jing looked at Chen Mu.
"So, has your dad done this kind of thing too?"
"What?" Tang Jing was puzzled.
"Haha, never mind." Seeing a warning look from He Ying, Chen Mu quickly changed the subject, "Do you also know about this model car?"
"I've seen introductions online, but never seen the actual product. The craftsmanship is indeed exquisite. Even with our current size, when observing from this perspective, the car still feels very realistic. It truly lives up to its value as a luxury toy worth thousands."
