The last thought I had was about the guy who kneeled down next to . I could just barely see a weird symbol he had on his shoulder, but it didn’t matter.

I couldn’t see anything anymore. The world around has gone completely black, this must be what death is like. It doesn’t seem all that bad if this is what death is, just a void full of nothingness.

Anybody can handle this if this is all that happens when it finally hits us.

The darkness slowly started to fade as the thoughts started to return to in full. None of this made any sense, I died back on 5th street in the shootout.

Lights were bright all around but I could see soone with a silver mask, glowing blue eyes, neon lights all around the suit, and a strange tool in his hand.

"He actually woke up, how lucky for us. We won’t have to harvest you for parts. The human body can be sold to make quite a profit." The strange man said while twirling the tool.

It looked like so sort of modified drill, one that they usually used for the modifications on people.

"Doc, did you say he’s awake?" A woman’s voice asked from across the room.

"Precisely. He doesn’t seem to be responding much yet." The Doctor answered.

I couldn’t really understand what was happening right now since my vision was still adjusting. I originally could only see the doctor but now I’m able to see a bit more clearly.

A woman stood across the room with her arms crossed. She seed to be wearing a black hoodie that cut off around her stomach, black pants, and has short white hair with streaks of pink mixed in.

She looked over at with her sky blue eyes and seed to be surprised by the fact that I was awake.

It took a mont but then I finally looked down at my body. My arm that was completely blown off was restored but it wasn’t a normal arm anymore.

Completely replaced by a cybernetic one with bright blue light flowing throughout the arm. It wasn’t the only thing I noticed about my treatnt here.

The wound where my chest was opened up was completely sealed with so sort of blue orb there to replace it.

Why the hell would so random gang save from death? I could never understand what the purpose of that is. I’ve never done anything worth being saved for before so it would be a waste.

The pain from before was also gone and I have no idea how long they’ve had here either.

This is going to be so kind of forced labor kind of deal isn’t it? Run so errands, make them so money for saving my life kind of shit.

There’s no way that so kind of catch doesn’t exist for this.

"He looks pretty lively. I’m sure he is curious about what’s going on." She said with a small smile on her face.

The doctor looked towards once again while sitting down the tool. "You have been given a refresh. You should be grateful, not everyone gets a chance to get sothing like this." The Doctor spoke with excitent.

"A refresh?" I questioned

"A chance to start again, duh." The girl chid in with an annoyed tone.

A chance to start again, that’s sothing I never really thought about before. Renji is still alive out there as well... I can’t just leave him by alone by himself.

I’ll need to figure out what needs to be done here so I can find him.

From there I’ll begin my climb to the top of this damn city. Nobody will be able to stop when I get everything sorted out, at least that’s the optimistic side of speaking.

"What do I owe you?" I asked with a serious tone.

"Nothing. We aren’t going to force you to do anything you don’t want to do." She answered without any hesitation.

"What kind of gang doesn’t want sothing in return. Are you trying to use as bait or sothing?" I asked with a bit of confusion in my voice.

"Nah, we just aren’t like that. Karma.exe will never be like that." She responded with a bit of a disgusted look.

Karma.exe? The group that’s notorious for taking care of issues like what happened on 5th street. It is a miracle that a gang like them can make it in a city like Kairox with the kind of generosity they offer.

Most would want your blood for being saved like this. I guess they aren’t like that in the slightest so that makes for an interesting ti.

They might be able to teach so stuff about cybernetics, better guns, and maybe even so stuff about the gangs. It would an working for them though.

Do I want to work for soone like this?

"Is that all?" She asked with an irritated tone.

"I want to join." I responded while still keeping a serious tone.

Looking around the room I could see blood all over the floors and so of the walls. This place must always be busy and I’m sure I wasn’t a pretty clean up either.

The girl was pretty, the doctor was weird and kind of creepy but maybe this will help. Looking down at my arm kind of gave a new reason to beco stronger.

Sothing people don’t think about a lot in this city could be the key to rising to the top of the food chain. Mana.

It’ll be hard to find information on it but Karma might be able to help for the ti being until I’m ready. Renji is important to find but it’ll be pointless if I just die.

Getting more power and better firepower is the best way to move forward for the ti being.

"Are you a dumbass?" She asked, clearly annoyed.
