As he was thinking, a system alert sounded in his mind—

9527: [A new location where the [Experintal Key] can be used has been detected. Would you like to open it now?]

So, the breathing light in the corner wasn't indicating a new map being unlocked, but rather appeared because Wen Nan had obtained the laboratory key?

Wen Nan glanced at Guan Ailin, who was sleeping soundly on the plush carpet, and then tiptoed towards the indicated location.

Beside the wall where the light was blinking was another hidden door. Wen Nan took out the key and smoothly unlocked it.

He pushed the door open and, as expected yet unexpectedly, Wen Nan saw the egg-shaped secret laboratory.

Standing at the entrance, Wen Nan summoned the system first: [9527, activate the recording function, record and video the whole process.]

9527: [Okay, recording has been enabled for you. Once recording is finished, you can review it in the 'My Files' section of the player interface.]

With the recording indicator lit up, Wen Nan stepped into the room.

Just as Gu Jinxing and Hu Jiayao described, the room was filled to the brim with towering shelves reaching up to the ceiling, with neat rows of black square tal boxes stacked inside.

Wen Nan walked to the nearest shelf and casually took out one of the tal boxes.

The texture of the tal box was very similar to the external hard drive he used before to store "study materials", just larger, and it couldn't be fully covered with two palms. The tal box had a signal light on the side, flashing constantly, with a coiled tal wire extending from one corner down to the ground, connected to sothing unknown.

After putting the tal box back on the shelf, Wen Nan weaved through the rows of shelves and approached the tunnel entrance that connected with location G.

The tunnel was very narrow, barely allowing a grown man to pass through. It was now completely sealed, and from below, one could vaguely hear footsteps and conversations from the fourth floor above, indicating that the G. location was still heavily guarded.

Without lingering too long beneath the tunnel, Wen Nan headed directly to the nearby manager's desk—the sa place where Gu Jinxing and Hu Jiayao discovered the most crucial item for the main mission 2.

There was a small square table there, with a folding chair beside it. A desk lamp was placed at the corner, and two pens and a cup were on top of the table.

Originally, there was also a notebook and a docunt on the table, which Gu Jinxing and Hu Jiayao had already taken away.

Wen Nan stood by the table, looked for a while, and gently rubbed the embossed logo "A.L." on the corner of the table with his fingertip. The sa company logo was on the neighboring folding chair, desk lamp, cup, and marker pen.

While being absorbed in his thoughts, a system alert sounded in his mind, and a character ssage popped up—

[She-devil: Where did you go?]

Wen Nan instinctively wanted to reply that he had left early, but if Guan Ailin entered the laboratory at this ti, he'd be completely exposed.

After a mont of thought, Wen Nan stepped out of the laboratory and imdiately saw Guan Ailin sitting dazed on the plush carpet in the distance.

She seed just awake, still groggy, her gaze unfocused, with a tuft of hair sticking up like an antenna.

Feeling soone approaching, she turned her head, and the tuft of hair bounced as she did. Seeing it was Wen Nan, her previously dull eyes imdiately lit up.

With a smile spreading across her lips, she extended her arms for a hug.

Wen Nan bent down, embraced her, and gently kissed her forehead, "Awake?"

"What ti is it?" After shouting so much last night, Guan Ailin's voice was hoarse.

Wen Nan glanced at the wall clock, "Quarter past three in the afternoon."

Hearing the ti, Guan Ailin jumped up from the floor in shock, simultaneously shedding her flimsy princess dress underskirt with one hand and gathering scattered clothes with the other as she moved toward the door.

"I have a tech conference at three! No ti! Why didn't Xiao Liu notify earlier—"

Mid-sentence, Guan Ailin picked up her phone and saw over a dozen missed calls from her assistant Xiao Liu, causing her to choke on the latter half.

With a cold face, she began putting on her clothes piece by piece, internally lanting— just like being captivated by fine beauty, causing the ruler to neglect state affairs, she almost delayed the conference after tasting such ecstasy for the first ti...

Seeing this, Wen Nan laughed, stepped forward, wrapped his arm around her waist, and slipped his hand under her clothes, reliving in his palm the expanse where he was almost suffocated last night...reflecting now with fond lingering...

With this in mind, Wen Nan whispered lazily into her ear, "It's just a regular monthly tech conference. A few minutes late won't matter. You're the boss; no one deducts your pay for being late."

Guan Ailin pulled the hand from under her clothes, "Is this how Teacher Ye sets an example for students? Teaching bad habits?"

Wen Nan was about to argue further when she firmly gripped his wrist and dragged him out without allowing any resistance.

"Where to?" Wen Nan asked, bewildered as he was led forward.

"To the eting," Guan Ailin glanced at him, "As a tech mainstay, you also have to attend. You didn't forget, did you? I'm the boss, so no one controls , but as an employee, you should be wary of missing an important eting without a reason; you might not get this month's performance bonus."

Wen Nan was startled and reasonably disputed, "Isn't my performance assessnt done by you? I've been working hard for the boss, toiling overnight, and not only don't I get a raise but also risk a deduction in performance?"

Guan Ailin didn't respond to his remark but hurriedly locked the door behind them, not forgetting to add, "How's the PPT I asked you to revise? Later at the eting, present it to everyone."

Ah?

That PPT about "Two are Happier" which gave Wen Nan phantom limb pain last ti? Can such a thing really be presented publicly at a tech conference?

"It's social suicide, boss."

Wen Nan narrowly escaped from the brink of social death.

They entered the conference room one after the other, just in ti to see their junior sister finish presenting the PPT and step down from the podium.

As soon as Wen Nan was spotted sitting by the door, the junior sister bead a confident "Senior, leave it to " smile towards him.

Wen Nan gave her a thumbs up.

And on the other side of the conference room, once Guan Ailin took her seat at the CEO's position, the entire eting's focus naturally centered around her.

Wen Nan finally found the chance to slack off boldly. Leaning against the wall, as he was about to doze off, a system alert sounded in his mind—

[slave: Yang Mingzhong, there's a problem.]
