Chapter 857: Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself (1)
She probably still thinks she’s unaware her own mother has cancer.
"Yep, it’s none of my business," said Eleven.
"So, how come you’re at the hospital?"
Eleven was very calm, pointing to the paper bag in her hand and saying, "I had a routine check-up a while ago; came to get the report today."
"Nothing wrong, I hope?" Shang Muxue asked with feigned concern.
"Nothing’s wrong. Were you hoping something was?" Eleven retorted.
"How could that be? I wouldn’t think that."
"Just kidding," chuckled Eleven, "why always take me so seriously?"
With a glance, her eyes fell on Gu Liancheng nearby, "I might skip the engagement banquet, but I’ll definitely attend your wedding."
The insinuation was clear.
Shang Muxue thought the comment was about her, but only Gu Liancheng knew she was referring to their wedding.
"Sure, you must come to the wedding, otherwise people will really talk."
Eleven’s lips curled into a smile, and without saying goodbye, she walked past Gu Liancheng.
Shang Muxue turned her head just in time to see Gu Liancheng suddenly smile, alarming her, "Brother Liancheng, what are you laughing at?"
"Nothing," he replied, disinclined to explain.
His phone vibrated again. It was a message from Qianxun. He didn’t open it, but he saw the preview in a flash: "You’re dead if you try anything!"
Seconds later, another message arrived: "There will be so many media people tomorrow. You’d better be careful not to give me any ammunition!"
She must be typing like lightning, right?
He could almost feel her rage through the messages, so different from her composed demeanor in person.
Shang Muxue turned to glimpse Eleven’s departing silhouette, thoughtful.
The report in her hand... was it really from a routine check-up?
After leaving the hospital, Eleven, having nothing else to do, planned to cab home.
Fei’er had been like a ghost lately, not making any plans with her.
She lied to the production team; the director hadn’t really called her. Her character would come online in about ten days, but it seemed like they wanted to push things up the schedule. This was the scriptwriter’s territory, so she waited for news.
"Hey, my sweetie? Still with Daddy Ye Mo? Want to come home? Mommy will pick you up, okay?"
Tomorrow was the big day for the Ye and Gusang families, and naturally, the Ye and Song families both received invitations.
Even if the Ye family didn’t attend in full, they’d send a representative.
Fei’er said she didn’t like Shang Muxue and didn’t want to go. With Ye family’s dad across the Atlantic and reportedly smitten with a new girlfriend, lost in love.
Ye Yao was AWOL, Ye Yang tied up with commitments, so the task of representing fell to the eldest, Ye Mo.
She definitely wouldn’t attend the engagement party tomorrow. Like Fei’er said, out of sight, out of mind, and save the trouble of annoyance. Therefore, she had to pick up Second Treasure.
"My sweetie?" Silence from the other end. Eleven glanced at the screen, still in a call... "Little Jiujiu? Grandpa Jiǔ?"
On the other end, Jiujiu Mengmeng sat in a row, facing the person opposite, and nodded. Jiujiu replied calmly, "Mm, no need. Fei’s mom said we should stay over for a week or so, have your own little world as if we don’t exist, it’s fine."
"..."
Eleven felt a profound sadness.
Who does Second Treasure really belong to – her, or the Ye Song Family?
They spent two out of every three days elsewhere; Sea View Villa had turned into this supposed... home they’d occasionally stay a night at.
This picture was way off!
"So when are you coming back?" Eleven couldn’t help but feel like a little housewife.
