Chapter 662: Miss Shang won’t come here_1
At first, she didn’t think much about it. Later on, it turned into a small pleasure.
"Let me help you with your tie!"
"Alright."
The two of them emerged from the room and walked downstairs arm in arm like a model couple. Aunt Fang and the two kids watched them, their faces full of laughter.
Aunt Fang thought to herself, how wonderful it was, all of them harmonious and together as a family.
Throughout, Aunt Fang had been internally rehearsing her planned move. Finally, when she was setting the table for them, she commented, "Mr Gu and Miss Fang - it looks like it were back to the old days, so loving, as if you never divorced at all."
The three of them, including Second Treasure, didn’t say a word.
"Sir, once you are engaged to Miss Shang... will Miss Fang... not be able to return here like yesterday?"
A new wife probably wouldn’t like the ex-wife intruding into their life, would she?
The word "engagement" cast an unusual aura in the room.
Aunt Fang sensed the change and quickly apologized, "My apologies, sir. I shouldn’t have said that."
It was inappropriate for Eleven to bring up such a topic, so she just silently continued her breakfast.
However, inside her, there was definitely some unease when she heard the words "Shang Muxue" and "engagement."
She knew her feelings for Gu Liancheng weren’t sudden or unplanned. Like him, she just didn’t face her heart truthfully. Thinking back, why did she avoid watching his interaction with Shang Muxue that night at the Gu residence and use the restroom as an excuse?
After Fei’er explained the situation, she felt relieved again.
She was concerned about his injury, and he got hurt for her. Didn’t all this signify something?
She was just sort of late in realizing it.
Having looked at Eleven, Gu Liancheng then said to Aunt Fang, "Miss Shang won’t come here."
"?"
Gu Liancheng stated it flatly, "Those who shouldn’t come will never show up, and those who should be here will always remain here."
His words spoke volumes about who should and shouldn’t be there. Aunt Fang understood clearly and felt a ripple of joy, "Sir, do you mean..."
"Don’t worry, Aunt Fang. Nothing will change here, whether it’s people or things."
"That’s really great! When I come back tomorrow, I will prepare a grand feast. What do you say, young master, young miss?"
Second Treasure nodded, "Yes."
With Gu Liancheng’s words, the tense mood during breakfast finally eased.
...
When Eleven arrived at the SA Company, she noticed something was amiss, with everyone appearing to be discussing something.
She had heard An Hao’s name and asked what had happened.
Someone informed her that police had come to the company to investigate An Hao earlier that morning. They didn’t know what had happened, but it seemed like An Hao was suspected of something and had been arrested. Some people were discussing that with An Hao gone, the last spot in the female group would undoubtedly go to Song Jiaqi.
Upon seeing her, Song Jiaqi hurriedly pulled her into a secluded spot.
"Jiaqi, what’s going on?"
"The police told me, seeing as I was An Hao’s friend. An Hao’s home had a fire the night before yesterday. Her mother and stepfather were both burned to death. An Hao’s stepfather had a gambling and drinking problem - when he drank, he would beat An Hao and her mother. All the neighbors knew about this. An Hao didn’t have a good relationship with her family, and with the fire scene being doused in fuel, it didn’t look accidental - the police initially ruled it as arson, so they are suspecting that it was An Hao causing the fire, burning all of them to death!"
"How could this happen?"
It had only been a weekend, who could have expected such a tragedy to occur?
