Chapter 625: 625 The Debt He Owed Her, Putting His Life on the Line (8)_1
She had planned on holding back her tears, but every word he spoke just caused her grief to surge.?
"What’s wrong? Don’t cry," He couldn’t see her from such a distance and had no idea what had happened, so he was left feeling helpless, "Is there a power cut?"
"No..." Eleven’s voice was filled with a sense of wronged emotion as she sobbed.
"Alright, alright, if it’s not about me, then it must be about you. Is it really that bad? Does the thought of me make you cry that much? Is it really that heart-wrenching?"
"No..." As Eleven was sobbing, she started to laugh at his joke, "It’s nothing... I just finished watching a TV series. My Korean Oppa died in the script. His death hurt me to the core... so I am calling you to pour my heart out. I didn’t expect to cry this much. It was just too sad."
"..." Gu Liancheng must’ve been feeling desperate at this point, "Your love for Korean dramas definitely comes from your mother. Try watching less of these unproductive idol dramas! Here I am, a real idol drama hero by your side, ready to be head over heels in love with you, yet you still go and watch someone else’s. Are his legs longer than mine?"
"No..." Eleven’s sobbing voice made her sound so pitiful, "They are the same length as yours..."
"Then, is he more handsome than me?"
"Just as handsome as you... No, you are more handsome..." After hearing today’s story, she had to admit he was especially handsome. He seemed to emanate a radiant glow.
He loved this compliment.
"So, if I were mistreated by an unscrupulous author, would you feel sorry for me?" He suddenly asked.
Eleven paused for a moment. Was he finally going to talk about those things with her? She hurriedly nodded, "Yes! I would definitely feel terrible."
Wasn’t she already feeling bad?
"Really?"
"Yes, really. Will you tell me your story? I’ll feel bad for you instead of for my long-legged Oppa."
Gu Liancheng said mournfully, "You just want to divert the pain of your Oppa’s death by stepping on my old wounds."
"So, are you going to let me step on them or not?"
"Yes," He answered with a smile, "I think your Oppa definitely hasn’t had it as bad as me. When I was small, my arm got crushed by a steel bar. My entire arm was immobilized. To avoid worrying my mom, I had to hide it when I got home."
If it hadn’t been for what happened today, she would’ve definitely thought he was joking given how casually he said it. But after today, she did not hesitate to believe him. However, she never thought he would actually use his past experiences to console her.
What a fool. Did he truly believe the little lie she told?
"You’re lying," Eleven pretended not to believe him, "You’re the Young Master of the Gu Family. Why on earth would you get your arm crushed by a steel bar? Couldn’t you think of a better lie?"
"You saw right through my lie!" Gu Liancheng laughed lightly, "You truly are the mother of two genius babies!"
What nonsense!
To court her, to make her happy, he’ll stop at nothing? Mr. CEO, you’ve lost your moral inhibitions. Go pick them up!
"Then let me tell you a true story. When I was a child, I fell down the round staircase in the Gu Residence that you’ve seen before. I knocked half my front tooth out, cracked open my forehead, and at one point, I thought I would become an idiot. Luckily, that didn’t happen. Otherwise, how could I have become a domineering CEO, marry you, and have two adorable children?"
"Pfft..." Eleven laughed at him, "You are such a klutz, even falling on the stairs."
While she seemed to be laughing, her face held traces of bitterness.
She didn’t believe he fell down himself.
