Chapter 928: 928 I prefer to kiss you like this (1)
The implication is, you might just end up dead.
Xiao Man obediently nodded, "I know, I usually don’t dare co close to you from behind. I’m afraid I might inexplicably end up dead at your hands. I’m not ready to die yet."
People like them, living on the edge of a knife, are very sensitive about their backs.
To survive, they wouldn’t easily leave their backs exposed to others.
"Good that you rember."
He wrapped his arms around her, as if holding a precious treasure. His eyes were cold but showed a hint of warmth that outsiders would absolutely not notice. Truly, just a hint. If Xiao Man hadn’t been with him all these years, she might not have been able to understand his gaze.
"I just had a dream," Xiao Man said.
"What dream?"
"I dreamt of the first ti we t," she said with a smile, "I asked you the sa question in the dream too, but I still didn’t get your answer before I woke up."
"What question?"
"I asked why you took
with you so easily. Was it just because I looked pitiful? But there are so many pitiful people in the world, and yet I don’t see you taking any of them ho. Am I special?"
Xiao Man had thought about this.
They had formulated many plans to attract Li Sinian.
No one expected that Plan A would succeed on the first attempt, unbelievably smooth, making it hard for anyone to believe.
Actually, before the operation, Xiao Man was not certain.
Their investigations revealed that Li Sinian was almost uninterested in won; initially, this plan was not recomnded because if it failed, with Li Sinian’s mory, Heather wouldn’t have been able to approach him again under any other identity.
One appearance might be a coincidence, but for cautious people like them, a second appearance would definitely not be accidental and would surely arouse suspicion, eventually leading to clues being discovered.
"Because you are Xiao Man," Li Sinian said in a deep voice.
"What if I were your enemy? The person you brought back, happens to be the one to harm you, wouldn’t that be dangerous?"
Li Sinian looked down at her, caressing her face with one hand, and said softly, "Fact proves, you are not."
There was no change in Xiao Man’s eyes, but her heart sank.
Fact proves, indeed...
Xiao Man wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself up.
She sat sideways in his arms, facing him almost at zero distance.
She leaned in and kissed his lips, emitting an indescribable charm as she provocatively said, "I like kissing you like this."
Li Sinian was so close, their noses touching,
Amid lingering fondness, her seductive gaze fell on his face.
Beneath such a countenance, her heart dwelled on the past.
She rembered how, in the beginning, she was tremblingly cautious, afraid of being discovered by him.
He thought she was timid and allowed her to et many people and face many things to overco her fears; he even put her on stage to shine as a new star, rebuilding her confidence.
She recalled how she sched tirelessly out of fear of being shunned and then losing the chance to stay by his side.
He thought she feared abandonnt, staying by her side day and night, taking her everywhere, ignoring others’ advice and rising controversies. He told her not to be afraid, he wouldn’t abandon her, reassuring her to confidently stay by his side doing nothing – she just needed to be herself.
He placed her at the very center of power, assuring her that he belonged to her, as did the power he wielded for her.
