The next day, just as dawn was breaking, the early-rising Candice saw a white-haired woman who appeared to be about her age sitting in the palace garden, seemingly waiting for sothing.

Having already heard from Elashia that Chris would be arriving, Candice imdiately guessed that this was her new colleague Chris.

"Ms. Chris, hello."

Hearing the voice, Chris also imdiately guessed that the woman behind her was Candice, the Pri Minister of the Elasia Empire.

"Pri Minister, hello."

eting Candice for the first ti, Chris appeared very humble, and her deanor brought a gentle smile to Candice's lips.

Walking to Chris's side, Candice shook hands with her and said:

"I've already heard about your situation from Her Majesty Elashia. For now, please rest in the palace, and I'll assign you tasks later."

However, Chris shook her head.

"Please don't do that. I hope to start working as soon as possible."

For Chris, making her idle would be worse than killing her.

Although she hadn't gone to bed early yesterday, Chris still got up at six in the morning.

The reason was simple: in the past, she had gotten up at five every day to handle governnt affairs, so sleeping until six today was already sleeping in for her.

Candice was sowhat surprised to hear Chris's words.

"You just went through all those events in Yage City and only arrived in Elasia a few days ago. Don't you need a few days to adjust?"

Chris smiled bitterly and shook her head.

"No, Pri Minister Candice. I was already used to this kind of life in Yage City. For , work might actually be the adjustnt."

After hearing Chris's words, Candice smiled and nodded.

It seed this newcor was also a workaholic like herself.

Candice could completely understand Chris.

"Alright, then I'll start arranging your duties tomorrow. Today, you should go with Her Majesty Elashia to see the Magic Academy first."

Hearing the term "Magic Academy" again, Chris couldn't help but ask:

"What exactly is this 'Magic Academy'? Her Majesty also told to observe there first before starting work. What connection could an academy have with public security?"

Candice put on a serious expression.

"Yes, Elasia's future security problems will mainly originate from there."

Candice's words left Chris extrely puzzled.

"It's just an academy. How could it produce security problems that threaten an entire nation?"

Candice said with a very serious expression:

"No, this academy is special. It's the first of its kind in the history of this world—it's an academy specifically dedicated to teaching magic, and while training an enormous number of students each year, it's also completely open to the public. This will cause the number of magic users in Elasia to explode at a geotric rate in a very short ti."

"The resulting security problems will be extrely severe."

"What?!"

Candice's words shocked Chris.

A country was making all of its foundational magic completely public? And specifically establishing schools open to outsiders to accelerate the spread of magic?

Such a thing had never happened in history!

Chris blurted out:

"If everyone can master magic, wouldn't that cause severe social upheaval?"

Candice nodded seriously.

"Yes, which is why we need you."

"The security problems Elasia will face in the future will be unprecedented."

Seeing Chris's trembling eyes, Candice said in an extrely serious voice:

"So we require you to visit the Magic Academy before officially beginning work, to let you know what you'll be facing."

Seeing that Chris still hadn't recovered from her shock, Candice smiled and said to Chris:

"Alright, I know you definitely haven't recovered from sothing so mind-shattering yet, so don't think about these things for now. Once Her Majesty wakes up and takes you there to see it, you'll understand many things."

Chris nodded with difficulty.

And Candice said:

"Now, let tell you about so daily matters."

After speaking, Candice led Chris out of the garden.

She first pointed toward Elashia's sleeping quarters.

"That's Her Majesty's sleeping quarters. When she has nothing to do, she'll usually be in there. If you have anything very important, just go ask for her instructions."

Candice thought for a mont, then added:

"But don't ask her overly specific questions. She doesn't know those either."

"Ah?"

Chris had found this abnormal since yesterday when Cecilia ntioned it in their conversation.

All of Elashia's subordinates she had seen showed visible loyalty to her, and even yesterday that blonde female knight's interaction with Elashia seed as casual as friends.

But why did they all say Elashia didn't understand anything?

Yesterday she had thought that was a joke from the seemingly friendly Cecilia and Elashia's own modesty.

But this very serious-looking woman definitely didn't seem to be joking with her!

Chris couldn't help but ask:

"She doesn't manage us at all?"

Candice nodded.

"That's right, so you can completely work freely. As long as it's not particularly important matters within your jurisdiction, you don't need to ask for her instructions."

Originally wanting to complain about how this real-life empress differed so much from those she'd read about in books, she thought better of it.

After all, she wasn't very familiar with the woman before her either, and it wouldn't be good if complaining about Elashia in front of her made her angry.

She needed to make a good first impression on her future colleague.

Candice continued to add:

"Most of Elasia's specific affairs are managed by . If you have questions about specific matters, just co find ."

"As long as you look for outside the ti period from 10 PM to 6 AM, I'm basically always in the Empress's Palace next to you or in the Governnt Affairs Hall."

Although Candice was called a workaholic, she still understood the principle of balancing work and rest.

At least she would never use her sleep ti for work unless absolutely necessary.

Seeing Chris nod, Candice continued:

"That's about all you need to pay attention to. I'll discuss your specific job duties with you tomorrow."

Candice thought for a mont, as if rembering sothing very important, her expression beca serious, and she added:

"Oh right, rember not to make too much noise when you get up in the morning. Don't disturb Her Majesty's rest."

"In Elasia, this is very important. Disturbing the Sovereign's rest is a serious breach of etiquette in Elasia!"

As a veteran politician, Candice didn't blush at all while lying.

"Oh... is that so? Thank you, Pri Minister Candice!"

This true power broker of Elasia had told the newly arrived her so much, and Chris was extrely grateful to Candice in her heart.

But she didn't know—Candice's last statent was a lie.

After all, if Chris woke up Elashia before Candice went to wake her up, how would Candice be able to enjoy her niece's adorably drowsy appearance when waking up every morning?

In Candice's heart, there was only one person who could wake up Elashia—and that was herself.

No one else was allowed!
