Chapter 68

‘I’ll take care of it,’ – the words Yan feared the most since he never knew what would follow. However, Allan didn’t know how fearso those words from Calian could be. Therefore he simply nodded.

“But wait, you are already recruiting mages? Is that not too early?”

It had been only three months since the mage division was created. Seeing as how Allan didn’t even have a building for the new mages to live and train at and yet still gather up new recruits, it worried Calian. However, Allan smiled and answered without any worry in his voice.

“Not yet no, I’ve brought him in early only to be your bodyguard, so you won’t need to worry about that. And since there aren’t that many mages that are talented in Kyrisis, it will take quite a while to gather up enough numbers.”

Well, he knows what he’s doing. That’s what Calian thought and nodded his head in agreent. Seeing him nod like that, Allan smiled slightly as he spoke again.

“The Mage Division’s na has been decided.”

Calian’s face turned back to Allan.

Since it was an army created by Ruin, even if Calian had sped up its founding, naming it had still been sothing Ruin was in charge of. Therefore Calian made sure not to blurt out the na of the mage division he already knew it was going to be.

“What is it going to be?”

Allan then stared at Calian with playfulness in his eyes. He was hoping Calian would guess correctly. Calian laughed, and opened his mouth.

“Valkan.”

(T/N – I might have previously translated this as Balkan – but Valkan is the right na)

Allan smiled, seeing as his hunch that Calian already knew was right.

“As expected, you are right. Ruin decided that the na is going to be Valkan.”

“That’s great. So it’s really happening then, now that there’s even a na.”

Allan nodded and continued.

“I am thinking of bringing over my daughter-in-law and my granddaughter that’s living in Riverne soon. You may actually get to see them once you co back from Roselita, actually.”

Calian’s foot stopped moving for a mont, then continued forward. A very awkward expression ca over Calian’s face.

“A granddaughter… So you had…… A granddaughter, huh.”

Allan, who looked younger than Arsen did, gave a warm grandfather-like smile.

“She really is a confident and beautiful little girl. However, I’m bringing her over here not because of the granddaughter but my daughter-in-law. She is teaching magic in Riverne right now, she would be more helpful if she ca over and trained the mages of Valkan instead.”

Calian didn’t have much knowledge about Riverne. He just knew that they treated mages well, and that the people there were very free and open minded. Therefore, as he was not familiar with Riverne’s magic education, he asked Allan,

“I’m curious about the magic school facility in Riverne actually. Can you really learn enough just from that school to carry out the duties of a mage?”

He was not sure just how effective learning magic is if the class is set in a way that a single teacher teaches many students at the sa ti. Allan nodded and answered.

“It is similar to the knights training school of Brissen, actually. As to how effective the teaching is depends on the individual’s talent and effort, there’s no real difference otherwise.”

Allan didn’t hear any replies from Calian of what he said. Noticing that Calian was deep in thought, Allan simply walked beside Calian without saying anything.

Calian’s mouth only after going around nearly the entirety of the Ceignes Pavillion once.

“Teacher, do you actually have any other plans this afternoon?”

Hearing him, Allan imdiately shook his head without any hesitation. If it’s Calian that’s looking for him, Allan was willing to push aside any scheduled etings anyways.

“I do not have anything scheduled.”

Calian nodded his head. However, what Calian was looking for this ti wasn’t Allan. Calian smiled towards Allan as he smiled with anticipation and spoke.

“Please let borrow the carriage.”

Allan was caught off guard by the unexpected question, and asked with a curious stare.

“Is there sothing you need not from but from my carriage?”

As it was such a strange sentence, Calian laughed for a bit before answering.

“It’s just that I need to make use of your na for a bit, teacher. It doesn’t matter if you co along, but you may not have much fun if you do today.”

No matter how you saw it, it ant that he was going to get on the extravagant carriage that was clear to everyone that it belonged to Allan Manasil, and go around spreading his na.

As he was not a fool that would follow whenever soone asks them to unless he was going in the first place, Allan shook his head and answered.

“I do not enjoy places I cannot have fun in. In any case, it would be strange if I was dawdling outside of the palace while you are using my carriage, so I will just be talking to Ruin in the anti. Have a safe trip.”

Calian nodded, and brought Yan and Kyrie along with him to Allan’s carriage. They all got in, and went outside of the palace grounds.

After hearing from the chamberlain that Calian was leaving the palace grounds on Allan’s carriage, Ruin told him not to give reports about him anymore if he is going out together with Allan. This was a sign of his trust in Allan.

However, right as he finished speaking, Allan suddenly appeared behind the chamberlain. Seeing him co in, Ruin’s expression soured greatly.

This damn mage had sent his son out alone.

Barron lfir Pollun, the head rchant of the Pollun rchantry, was giving fish food in the small pond at the back of his residence. aning he was having a very peaceful and leisurely ti.

He was enjoying his rare holiday when he saw a servant run towards him, who said that there was a carriage coloured black with mother-of-pearl – was heading towards the residence.

The round eyes of lfir widened like a goldfish.

“Sir Allan Manasil visiting here?”

The servant who ran all the way to the back garden after seeing the carriage answered while heaving his breath.

“Yes, my lord. We just confird that Sir Allan’s carriage was coming in.”

“Hmm… Why in the world would he be coming here for.”

lfir gave the bowl filled with fish food to the servant, then dusted off his clothes. As he was hurriedly walking towards inside, another person ran towards lfir.

The one who ran towards him was not a servant, but a butler wearing a black suit.

lfir raised one of his eyebrows.

If the old butler is to run towards him in a hurry like this, then sothing important was definitely happening. Soon, the butler ca next to lfir and whispered into his ear. lfir’s eyes widened slightly more than before.

‘There was another person inside of Sir Manasil’s carriage.’

After hearing all he had to say, lfir was barely able to stop himself from falling over into the pond from the shock. His face was completely pale now.

The voice he heard that had allowed him to stop an incident from happening on the celebration of the king’s birthday rang around his head.

‘I feel slightly uneasy about what’s above. Go take a look.’

That short sentence saved his life, and his saviour Calian was now in his house.

Calian must have co to claim his life debt that lfir had been delaying in paying back for 3 months now.

On top of that, he personally ca here to take it!

lfir hoped that today’s lfir was the smartest he’s ever been his entire life, and quickly hurried towards where Calian was.
