Deandra erged out of the cloud of dust, looking haggard and wounded while grasping her sword.
"Deandra?" I called out softly, but my voice seed to have reached her regardless.
Deandra turned around, facing towards my direction.
"Victor?" Her eyes flickered at my sight one mont, and the next she jerked her head back.
"Be careful! They're ..!"
Before Deandra could continue her words, more silhouettes erged from the other side of the wall.
The figures of other cadets were revealed. They were unfamiliar and ard, but sothing was strange about them.
Before i could place my finger on just what that nagging, and unsettling feeling their ambiguous eyes gave , all three of the cadets charged forward imdiately, raising their respective weapons.
"Damnation!"
Deandra, too, raised her sword and lowered her stance, ready for confrontation.
"Aaarghh!!" With an inhumane cry and a foaming mouth, the fastest of the cadets lunged ruthlessly at Deandra, smashing his long sword against her's in a collision.
A powerful sound tore through the air as bright sparks ignited from steel clashing against steel.
Deandra held on nicely.
For about the first two seconds.
Imdiately, she was hounded by the other two cadets who were already upon her as well.
"Fuck..."
I couldn't just sit still and watch from my position.
Despite being uncertain about the situation, i gripped my spear and sprung to my feet to provide support from behind..
Deandra, cornered from all directions, faced off against the three strange cadets alone. Overpowered and overwheld.
She moved her sword, pushing off the first Cadet, and raised her left leg to intercept the second.
The blade of the third swiftly moved, strangely like a serpent, curving and bending through the hair for the neck.
I intercepted the third cadet, utilizing the reach advantage of my spear and thrust forward, deflecting the blade at the final second.
I flicked my wrist with a little effort and forced the cadet to retreat.
"What's happening?" Covering Deandra's back, i said.
"They aren't normal. It's like before."
"What?" Deandra's words didn't make much sense to .
But I didn't have the luxury of finding out.
Instead, a fourth figure, a different cadet erged from the hole in the wall.
"Is that..."
This ti, one who i was very familiar with.
It was the pale figure of a male cadet with black hair and a twisted expression, wearing sullied white gloves on both his hands.
"Don?!" Experience exclusive tales on My Virtual Library Empire
Don Clyde's expression was bizzare and twitching. Bloody tears flowed from the edges of his eyes down his face, and his eyes were rolled backwards.
His mouth was foaming disturbingly, and his expression was like a twitching beast.
"Ahn...! A-ah! Ngh...ah!"
He made strange noises and moans like a captured animal in anguish. A wave of bloodlust emanated from his being.
I didn't need anyone to tell sothing was wrong.
"Sothing is wrong."
"Yeah, no shit." I glanced at Deandra incredulously.
"Watch out!"
Deandra warned urgently and bizzaro Don lunged powerfully at us at an insane frequency.
The ground shattered, exploded into smithereens from underneath his feet as Don propelled himself forward aided by the wind converging around his body.
'He's fast!'
Too fast!
-Bang!
Danger Sense rang like a high pitched bell inside my head.
As Don moved, a powerful bang like thunder tore through the air.
The very next instance, his figure smashed into our position, scattering a whole storm of raging gales and debris all over the place.
-BOOM!!
Terrifying wisps of wind expanding through the vicinity, tearing apart the ground, and wiping everything nearby flying.
"Fuck!"
Including !
I tumbled uncontrollably through the air with Deandra.
At the very last second, i was fortunate enough to have moved out of the way before Don torpedoed right into our position.
-WHOOOOSHHH!!
A literal storm scattered through the vicinity. Gales of winds gathered and spiralled like a havoc tower at the middle as the ceiling, walls, and ground were torn apart from all directions.
I smashed into the ground, feeling so of my joints pump and my vision flicker.
"Ngh!"
I bit onto my lips, trying to hold on to to my consciousness that threatened to disperse like the wind around !
'Fucking Supernaturals. Broken creatures, i say!' inwardly, i cursed at the world and it's unfairness.
As the powerful gales began to subside in a few seconds, i managed to raise my head and looked for Deandra.
I quickly caught sight of her figure throwing up blood as she was leaning against a cracked column.
In a matter of seconds the raging gales dispersed and subsided. The passageway was left in utter shambles after all that.
The only good thing was, at least the three other cadets had also been caught up in the attack and swept away just like us.
I forced myself to my feet, ignoring the resistance and pain from my groaning bones and joints, and rushed quickly to Deandra's side.
I couldn't help but have so of ta's words from before flash through my mind as i did so.
'My 'vessel' is definitely going to feel this later on.'
"Hey, world to our most venerable class rep. You're still alive?" I dropped to my knees next to Deandra while keeping my eyes on Don's figure from within a burgeoning cloud of dust at the center.
Deandra coughed and exhaled roughly.
"Did you kill off?"
"Good. Cuz you've got a whole lot of explaining to do. We haven't seen ourselves for a while, but isn't this a bit of an extre greeting, huh, sweet class rep?"
"Enough with the bullshit, 1499...and help out. I'll explain everything as soon as i can. First we have to suppress Don imdiately." Deandra held her side and struggled to rise to her feet.
She must have suffered a few broken ribs after being ruthlessly swept away like that.
I wrapped my hands carefully around her to provide support and assisted her to her feet.
I looked dryly at Don...bizzaro Don while controlling my facial expression.
"Don? Huh, funny. Is there sothing wrong with him? Kinda reminds of when i wake up at the wrong side of the bed every Monday morning." I shrugged.
"...I applaud your tenacity and ntal fortitude to trying this hard to be funny even in such a ti like this. I'll have to admit and cond you honestly at this point, 1499, you really have no troubles in this life, do you?" Deandra glanced at from the corner of her eyes.
I averted her gaze and shrugged dryly, ignoring the pain in my shoulder.
"You said cond, so I'll take that remark as a complint, thank you."
